  1. I have a 2014 Carbon Pro with a Zero Off 2 Puck system. Being I am the “paranoid, afraid I will miss a day of skiing due to boat issue type person” I was considering buying an extra Zero Off puck (receiver) for my 2 puck system in case one went bad. I plan on keeping my boat for the long term. Now that there exists the Zero Off old two puck system and the new Zero Off one puck system I have some questions? I am trying to determine if purchasing a spare Zero Off puck for my current 2 puck system is a good decision. Questions: If my 2 puck system had a major failure of some kind other than a bad puck, can you still purchase the Zero Off 2 puck system? Or Are the One Puck systems the only ones available now if you have to install a completely new system? Can the current 2 puck systems operate on only one puck if one went bad? Thanks for any feedback that is given for this topic. oldmanskier
  2. There were two of these at the Chattanooga boat show yesterday. The Nautique/Centurion dealer in Chattanooga (Erwin Marine) has Bayliner also. They are different looking but appear to be well built. If I was a young person (good job but on a tight budget) wanting to get started in Wake/Surf boat stuff and wanted a new boat I can see the appeal. The two models on display in Chattanooga were $42,000 plus and $52,000 plus. oldmanskier
  3. Horton: Sorry about the long links. I do not do attachments like this very often and just did it like I do in e-mail attachments from my home computer. Next time I will not do a link and just give the web site address. oldmanskier
  4. I saw this on skiagain. It sounds like a great deal for someone looking for a Carbon Pro. Ski-It-Again Description This is a NEW (never titled, never demo'd, never launched in the water) 2015 Centurion Carbon Pro with a PCM ZR409 Catanium motor, tandem-axle trailer with FULL MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY (begins on date of purchase). We are not moving forward as a Centurion dealer, so we are offering amazing discounts on our remaining inventory. This boat was originally priced over $72,000. There may be some minor cosmetic flaws simply due to time on the lot; these are more than compensated for with the enormous discount. This is 1 of only 2 Carbon Pros we have left! Photos are available. Please inquire or visit our website for more information. Sale price does not include any applicable taxes, title, or registration fees. First come, first served! For More Information, See This Website Hope this may be of interest to someone. oldmanskier
  5. Bigskieridaho I agree with you but: I do keep the boat in my garage and if no power outages I can keep garage above freezing. But in Tenn. we occasionally get a snow/ice storm that can cause power outages for several days. I always winterize to avoid having to deal with boat if this occurs. Thanks for all the suggestions. Oldmanskier.
  6. I winterized my CP yesterday draining all water and pumping in RV antifreeze including the heater core. Does anyone do anything special to winterize the Ballast system tank on their CP? I drained all the water I could by using empty tank button but I still see about a 1/4" of water in the bottom of tank. Not for sure how to get the last bit of water out. Any ideas? Thanks. 7. This was great. Thanks to Marcus for spending the time to put it together. Oldmanskier
  8. Having no replies for a few days had me wondering what was wrong with my post. Taking boat to lake tomorrow to run up and down lake to let gas stabilizer get into system. I will then drain all water and put in RV antifreeze for winter storage in my garage. Probably wait till spring for Transmission oil Change. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. Oldmanskier
  9. I have a 2014 CP with a PCM 5.7 Excab engine. The transmission is a ZF/ZFE 45A made in Italy. Boat has 350 hours on it. ZF manual says change after first 25 hours and every 300 hours after that. As a winter time project I was going to change the transmission fluid. To drain fluid I will use a manual oil suction extractor with a new clean hose. ZF Manual mentions that filter element should be replaced on transmission fluid change. Questions: ZF Manual gives details but no illustrations on changing element. Anyone changed one of these filter elements on a CP with this type of transmission? Manual says fill with ATF oil for Automatic gear boxes. It gave an extensive list of fluids to use in the ZF manual. It covers the world. The ones I saw for the “US” was: Chevron ATF F-30108, CITGO ATF DEXRON III F-30167 Anyone recommend a particular Transmission fluid for my boat? Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Oldmanskier
  10. I have a three step routine that everyone that drives for me at No Wake uses when I ski. Tighten up (take slack out slow), In gear (once in gear do not take out of gear so I can drag a few feet) I then say READY (Boat gets me out of water). oldmanskier
  11. I need to lose 25 pounds so the driver does not say it feels like pulling a refrigerator out of the water with its doors open on the deep water start. oldmanskier
  12. Here In Tenn you know if you have a level headed wife or girl friend. Dipping Snuff runs out both sides of their mouth. Taken from the words of an old song called Snuff Dipper. oldmanskier
  13. Glad you got to meet some of the guys. Probably Bob and Dave. If you ever come thru again send e-mail to tomjsmothers@aol.com and I will try to arrange to get you a pull. oldmanskier.
  14. We used to ski year round by wearing dry suits November - March. We all got old and thin blooded so we are usually done by EST time change in November. It is usually March before we get going again but if weather happened to be warm when you came thru I could possibly give you a pull. But I would recommend a dry suit. Water temp would most likely be in the 48 degree mark. Keep my e-mail and contact me if you come thru Chattanooga. oldmanskier
  15. I just now saw this. My wife had knee replacement surgery and I have been out of the loop for the last three weeks. I am one of the owners at No wake and would have loved to have you come ski if I had not been taking care of wife. If anyone ever wants to Come to Chattanooga and ski at No Wake e-mail me at tomjsmothers@aol.com. If not busy at work or recovering from whatever medical thing me of my wife have going at that time I can give you a pull or can try to hook you up with one of the other No Wake owners or members. oldmanskier
  16. If Jody says it cannot hurt that is good enough for me. Thanks for all the comments. oldmanskier
  17. Congratulations. Great looking CP. You are going to love the CP slalom wake. oldmanskier
  18. I have a 2014 Carbon Pro with 5.7 PMC. Our club boat is a 2012 Mastercraft with 5.7 Ilmor. On both boats some people in club will turn on key, wait till fuel pump quits bussing (priming) and then start boat. Others just turn key and crank boat without waiting for fuel pump to finish priming. For my boat (CP) I have them wait till fuel pump quits priming before cranking boat. What is the correct procedure for starting boat: Wait for fuel pump to prime and then crank boat? Or Just crank the boat with no wait? Thanks oldmanskier
  19. It appears to be the same color scheme as my 2014 CP. It looks great. I do not see how they could make the CP slalom wake any better. Every one in my club says it is the softest slalom wake they have ever skied. Even at 22 off. The women and kids only want to ski behind my boat. As for the 6.0 engine it must feel like a rocket. Mine is a 5.7 and it has lots of power. The CP (in my opinion) is the best designed slalom boat I have ever had. oldmanskier.
  20. We are in our second year with Wally's. They have not faded and still look new. Our club did not want to spend the extra money on Wally's so I and another member buy them for club mainly because we have the worst ankles in the club. I Never want to hit a buoy but the two times I hit a Wally this year my ankle survived to ski another day.
  21. Our Club went with SPORTSINSURANCE.com. I and other club members did a line by line comparison on our current Global Marine policy and the Sportsinsurance.com policy. The policies were very similar with Sportsinsurance having slightly better coverage. Our current Global policy premium was $5,200 for 12 months coverage. We got the same coverage from Sportsinsurance for $1,280 for 12 months coverage. A savings of around $3,900. If you are considering changing insurance Give Wayne Feinberg a call at (518) 891-2020 for a Sportsinsurance.com quote. oldmanskier

  23. kdupser: I have skied at Whitestone a lot in years past. I know the situation you are referring too. I know Cary Z very well. He helped me in my boat driving endeavors. We will always have insurance. I am just trying to get the best price for the same coverage. Current Status: Requested two quotes from: Jeni at Paramount Insurance Co. Jeni's company does not write insurance in Georgia. Our lake is in Georgia just across the Tenn line so we were out of luck using Paramount. Got a quote from Wayne Feinberg at Sportsinsurance. Com. Sportsinsurance. Com was way cheaper than our current Global Marine policy. Our current Policy and Sportsinsurance.com proposal appear to be the same coverage with Sportsinsuranc.com having slightly better coverage. Sportsinsurance.com does require a everyone that skies at site sign a waiver and certain exclusions like no inflatables can be pulled or trampolines. Or club has no issue with that. Owners at our lake are reviewing now and hope to make a decision soon. Question: Anyone have a good example of a waver they are willing to share? Thanks for everyone’s comments on this subject. oldmanskier
