  1. I'm just impressed that there are people out there who remember all this stuff more than 5 minutes after leaving their college final.
  2. Can you just drill some new holes in the RTP? I had a pro setup my daughter's ski and he needed to drill some additional holes in her Radar RTP. Worked fine until we locked down what we wanted to do with the ski. Later bought new/different RTP.
  3. Radar, O'Brien, Connelly, and HO all sell combos with a lace up type binding. Or, you could just buy a couple bindings and put them on the skis you have?
  4. The Centurion is least costly, but it was less costly at the outset. There were plenty sold, and obviously, this boat is still going after 31 years, but the Centurions were not top of the line in that era. The Centurion also has/had wooden floors and stringers. You said something about floors being replaced and stringers are good. It's pretty unusual for the floors to rot with no damage in the stringers. Most people don't do the stringers right as it is a dirty, time consuming and costly repair. All three of those other boats have composite stringers. For that reason alone, I would choose one of the other three. I personally like the Echelon because it is the roomiest of those three. Free advice take it FWIW.
  5. @rico I noticed the ranking for the kids, which is all I reviewed, were screwed up the last couple of days. They seem to be ok today. FWIW
  6. I've shipped in the past with USPS. I won't do it again. The last ski I shipped was supposed to take a week, CA to TX. It sat in a warehouse in CA for a week before they ever sent it out. When it got to Texas, Sat again for almost two weeks before it finally delivered. Took almost a mont in total. Ridiculous.
  7. @Horton, or anyone else for that matter. Newbie questions from the parent of a kid just getting into comp skiing, who has not yet attended a Nationals. Why is there a need to drive more skiers to Nationals? There were over 600 skiers in the middle of a pandemic. Looking back at some Nationals Data, it appears that, for the most part, the top 5 or 10 skiers in each class have participated. Looking at the numbers, it appears there is a greater need to drive attendance at the regionals. Am I wrong? FWIW, Statistics suggest that Air travel is not the real problem. Adjusted for inflation and fees Air travel costs 36% less than it did in 1990. The number of Domestic Air passengers doubled from 1990-2019. So, that begs the quesion, what are the real issues?
  8. List here https://www.usawaterski.org/pages/divisions/3event/AWSAApprovedTowboatHistory.pdf . It it does not appear the boat was on the approved list in 83.
  9. I had an incident with similar bruising 4 years ago. MRI did reveal rotator cuff. Means zero except that I wasn't surprised when you said rotator cuff. In my case, I can't be 100 percent certain that the rotator cuff was not torn before the skiing incident. Good luck in your recovery.
  10. The Goode shipped within 10 days after I bought it. FWIW. Only two things I don't like. 1) I Stink. 2) I keep bashing my rear ankle on the ski's sharp edges, which of course is wholly related to number 1.
  11. My local Napa auto parts carries hub assembles that bolted right on for my trailer. FWIW. Edit: Actually, I was wrong. I guess I only got the brake assembly. Used my existing hub. Sorry.
  12. What's the hull ID Number? It should be stamped into the fiberglass on the back of the boat. That will tell you exactly what it is. US Coast Guard manufacturer's list here: https://uscgboating.org/content/manufacturers-identification.php . How to read a HIN here: https://www.boatsafe.com/hull-id-numbers/
  13. @Joeprunc Is that Beaver Bay? We might be neighbors.
  14. @DaveD if you click on the Youtube at bottom right, will take you to the youtube channel and seems to be live there.
  15. @KeithMenard, that's the great thing. You are permitted to disagree, as am I. Factually, Mike asked one question. The owner of the website answered. Then, HE was attacked. How do you expect him to respond? How would you expect anyone to respond? As he stated, there are discount codes on most of the water sports websites. There are, in fact, discounts offered here as well. The discounts are there for a reason. If the retailers don't find benefit, they will stop offering them. If the owner of this website thought the question was out of line, he could have handled it. Instead, he provided contacts for the discount codes. Here, the user knew enough about the stokes product to want to buy it. He knew enough about this site to come here and maybe, find a better price. That's a win for Stokes, for Horton and BOS, and could have been a win for Perf Ski as well. That's exactly why Stokes and Perfski advertise here.
  16. Mike has known John Horton, the owner of this website, since Horton was in diapers. He asks a question, and guess who answers first, with the actual answer Mike is seeking - John Horton. Yet, someone else, who doesn't even know Mike, and quite probably doesn't know Horton, decides to make a shitty comment. That's bad for Horton's business. That's bad for this site. That's bad for water skiing. I don't understand the applause here. If you want to Panda me, or ban me so be it. That was rude, and dumb.
  17. Billy Allen and Jason Parades were both on the 88 Sac State Team that finished 4th at College Nationals.
  18. @jjackkrash. The Goode has standard inserts in the board. Bolts right on for Wiley's or Reflex. I did not inquire about the HO. Back binding fits D3 or Wiley's trick toe piece. They sell a back through Goode, but it looks like a Wiley's to me.
  19. I believe the sangers have a 16 degree rise across their line of hulls. In other words, the running surface is the same on the Ski boat as on their wake boats. The ski boat can and will put out a big wake at slower speeds. At 36 it should not be terrible, and it flattens out really well at 45 or 50 (one of the reasons its considered one of the best barefoot boats. Still, you would not find hard core slalom skiers buying Sangers. You would do better with most other brands of direct drive ski boats. My $.02.
  20. I watched a few hours of the webcast over the week. It was great to have the coverage. Thank you.
  21. Apple has been the best example of this principle, for years. Elegant solutions that hide complexity.
  22. I thought that all of the private lakes my daughter skis require participants to be USA WS members?? ICBW.
  23. Somewhere in my mind I'm thinking that the cinch cord bindings I have owned, for ski or wakeboard, had warnings not to overtighten, or cinch down the laces. Might have been on the tags that came in the box, or maybe even printed on the boot. ICBW.
