  1. Bought a Ronix last year, $150 thrown away......should have known better than to buy a wakeboard type vest for skiing. Total crap.
  2. The 206 is a whole different boat from a 196, lots of interior room but you sacrifice a good slalom wake compared to a 196 or an LXI.
  3. So would a second judge in the boat override a tower call since 2 judges are in the boat at a much closer viewpoint?
  4. $14k is a very good price for an 01 Nautique, how many hours, overall condition, what's the whole story? Mighty suspicious........
  5. Lose the wing, you are at a slow enough speed to where it will hinder your progress instead of benefitting it.
  6. Check if anything magnetic is anywhere near the pickup.
  7. 175 lbs, 68" V-Type and 4@ 38. Go big and the cross course pull is easier, gives you more time on the opposite edge(pre-turn) to slow down. Plus a bigger ski makes you use the entire ski, not the back half of it....juss sayin.
  8. Berryessa does have a course, the Bureau of Reclamation has juristiction of the lake, BLM may be easier to deal with.....
  9. I seem to remember you have to set the speeds up on a course with magnets because it is pre GPS, you probably would be better of upgrading to the Stargazer since it is a GPS based speed control.
  10. Voit set of doubles, circa 1966, and Forsman out out Lafayette California....early 60's Although no longer in the U.S., KD Skis.
  11. @Texas6, I post a few pics for you when I get a chance, thanks.
  12. 1958 Chris Craft Cavalier, still have it 1964 Chris Craft Super Sport, still have it 1965 Rayson 1965 Sanger 1965 Tolly Craft Late 60's Glasspar 1970's vintage Thunderbird tri-hull 70's vintage Nautique 1980 Ski Supreme 92, 97, 98, 03, 04, 05, 06 and current 11 Nautique. The 2 Chris Crafts are original, down to the Coast Guard throw cushions. Yeah, I'm kinda old.....
  13. D3 may still offer an excellent demo program, try a ski for 10 days for the shipping cost and then return it, try the next one for 10 days and so on. Considering the price of new skis, you want to be sure it is right for you before you plunk down all your spare change on one......
  14. 2 minutes of my life I can never get back..........
  15. "if it is too good to be true, it's not meant to be"
  16. Per some industry people, the quality is no longer there in the manufacturing process. The molds were sold when KD was bought up by some venture capitalists after Denny had long washed his hands of KD. The process is one step above the basic ski manufacturing process you would find on a pair of O'brien doubles.....
  17. I had a 2004 68" Platinum, balsa wood core, best ski ever, at the time......till the balsa wood core gave up behind the rear binding. Ran 2 and 3 @ 39 off a couple of dozen times on it before it folded on me one day.....
  18. One is bright green rubber and the other one is black rubber..............
  19. I have a set of large KD bindings off of my 05 KD Platinum that should work just fine.....
  20. 2005 KD Platinum, 68"......balsa wood core and all......
  21. The dash and seating was moved back a little to make room for the open bow, the wake should not be impacted much unless you load up the open bow with kids, gear, etc..
  22. The local tournaments need to re-invent themselves, yes, they are boring if you are not engaged with judging, driving, dock starting etc. A handicap points system would be one way to get the non-tournament skier in a competition and see how they stack up against a MM skier. Good announcing would get people's attention and engage them as to who the next skier off the dock is or what their PB is or what they are riding.....
