  1. @BraceMaker there are 4 screws that counter sink through the bottom. A close look at the section that broke off and you can see a little bit of white plastic still connected to the screw.
  2. Thanks. I would obviously take the binding off the ski before I drill it.
  3. So I went to mount up my Reflex Supershell with the carbon fiber plate to my new to me Connelly Prophecy last night. I went to measure the front boot and with it all the way forward is 28 3/8. I skied today and it felt pretty good out of the box but I want to try moving my boots forward. The problem is, my boot is already as far as it could go to get that setting. I pulled the plate and looked at moving the front hoops up one notch but the rear heal cup and mechanism doesn't have any holes to move. I was thinking of trying to drill new holes in the plate but I dont want to crack it or damage. I have a drill press and heard to use masking tape and high speed for clean holes through CF but has anyone done this before? Basically I just want to move the heal cup and mechanism forward so I can put the plate in a more neutral setting. Baller advice is appreciated.
  4. Similar to skibrain, I also start with my ski at about 2:00 (I am RFF). I have both palms down with the rope on the left side of the ski and pretty close to the 'V'. I only have a few inches of the ski sticking out of the water. I do keep my head up but thats more to prevent water from getting in my eyes than anything. But some people bury their head towards their knees.
  5. Hi, Looking at possibly upgrading a 2007ish D3 X5 to something newer. I am not finding much on the 2015 prophecy. What was the differences between a 13 & 14? thanks. Keith
  6. I wonder the same. I weight 150 now (130 in college only a few years ago... So sad :() I am on a 65" D3 now. Here is the sizing chart. I am basically either at the very upper end of the 65 or the very lower end of the 66. I wont gain any more weight but could loose a few lbs if I didn't drink as much beer. I ski 36 now into 32' off. I have been contemplating getting a newer ski but wonder if a 65 or 66 is the way to go.
  7. Jump maybe? I think when pulling longer distances the boat can run faster on the second segment than the set speed to keep up with the skier. But I'm not a jumper or a jump driver...
  8. I think many boots have a standard pattern on the plate. For example I had HO boots on a D3 ski and ski with people that have D3 boots on an HO ski. Do you have a pro-shop nearby that you can try on boots to make sure they are comfortable? You might be able to find a lightly used set of boots on Ski-It-Again for a good deal.
  9. For what it's worth when I use Awesome with the method I mention above i immediately wipe it off with clean water soaked rag to get that stuff off the vinyl. After doing a seat or two my hands instantly feel dried out. I won't use it for a everyday seat cleaner. At least not at full strength.
  10. Great skiing @Detrick. Can't wait to hear news of you making all 6.
  11. I heard a lot of great things about malco but never used it myself.
  12. I used totally awesome (dollar tree) with a upholstery brush on a dual action polisher (harbor freight) and it did an awesome job and giving the seats a good deep clean. Totally awesome is pretty caustic so I followed up with a liberal amount of 303 aerospace. Been happy with that setup.
  13. watched it last night. Pretty impressive. I want to know what ski he was on?
  14. @BrennanKMN For the most part I agree. However having one of those monstrosities they call a wakeboard boat weighted down and the wind catching the sail they call a tower really can make for a PITA boating experience. Between this and the F150 backup dohicky I think its going to ruin the experience for many to enjoy a beer at the launch ramp watching people struggle to launch their boats.
  15. That's a boat only the original owner can love...
  16. According to the internet, Andy had a practice score of around 2 1/4 or 2.5 @36 mph and 4 at 34 mph. Ask Andy Anything @lantley can you provide a video link?
  17. If you don't have a mini-course you can just drive to the right of the boat guides. The skier uses 1, 3, 5 as the right side buoy and the outer boat guide as the 2, 4, 6 buoy. Then when you come back, you drive on the right side (opposite as the other direction) and repeat. As you can see from a nice sketch below. Green one direction (up), blue the other (down). Big Arrow is the boat path, Zig-zag is the skier.
