  1. backup camera is the way to go. I always hitch up my trailer solo while my wife is corralling the kiddo getting food packed. Before the camera I used to look over my right shoulder and imagine a straight line to the bow of the boat which usually got me centered. I would then get close enough while still knowing I wouldnt hit the trailer against my truck, hop out and get a more accurate distance and just inch my way back. But with the camera, it takes maybe 5 minutes to back up, hitch up, pull forward, throw on my swim deck and pull out of the garage.
  2. Yeh I would love to get one of those mugs.
  3. Just ordered my copy the other day and waiting for it. Looking forward to it.
  4. Adjustments to make sure the rope is within tolerances? I guess you could measure the rope following the USA guidelines but I think with some of the top manufactures you will find they are well within tolerances. That being said, I think even if a rope was out of tolerance an inch or two you wouldn't notice it at 15-32. I would be more worried about messing with a rope to adjust it and damaging the rope itself.
  5. Didn't @Horton use something that calculated his speed not to long ago. You might be able to find it on the home page. It was a video with a speed or distance tracker in the corner of the video.
  6. @Shakeski my dad has an identical 2000 MC 190. At one point there were three guys in the club with an identical color combinations.
  7. There are a few active clubs on the CA delta but I haven't been out there in years.
  8. To @Chef23 point I have tried and I cannot clip my front boot in while in the water. I have to do it on a solid platform.
  9. Nobody at my site uses a hardshell besides me. So I just started doing what made sense to me. 1. I disconnect the boot from my ski after every set. The only time the boot is clamped into my ski is when my foot is in it. I just rest the boot on the ski in my bag but dont actually clip it in. 2. N/A I use a rubber rear boot 3. I put the liner on, then slip into the boot. I take the liner out after every set. The liner is starting to rip on the edges. 4. I put the boot on in the boot or on the dock and have it all snugged up. I then clip in while on the platform. 5. If I don't ski back to the dock I pull my rear foot out of the rubber and then lift the tang to easily disconnect my front boot. I don't use "force" to disconnect the ski. I love my reflex. Wouldn't go back to a rubber. The comfort is great as my old Animals used to cramp after 4-5 passes.
  10. Have a double boot but if I am on a trick ski I usually drag my foot. If I fall on my last pass sometimes I will pull the rear foot out of my double boot and ski in on one. I think getting up while dragging is easier as long as my driver gives me a softer pull up.
  11. So @SundevilSki your team jumped on these skis until you decided to retire them? What caused them to finally bite the dust? Man I miss college waterskiing.
  12. How hard is it to disassemble and check?
  13. The pictures of water skiing on all the TVs is a nice touch...
  14. 3 @43 off considered sandbagging? What is the world coming to...
  15. @GaryWilkinson video link is in the 4th post by @Lars
  16. I agree, I think the issue might be that when loading the boat there is nothing that is going to "push" the bow upwards to clear the fins from hitting the trailer. You might want to try something like a keel roller to push the bow upwards. By the looks of that trailer there is NO support except for the two rear bunks. http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo18/donnydisco/Whaler/TrailerBeforeFrontRoller3.jpg
  17. Sorry for the dark photo but you can see the top of my cross member where the fin has grazed it a few times. Try playing with the depth of the trailer on your particular ramp and obviously go slow when loading. I am sure I could try putting some spacers to try and elevate my bunks 1/2" and that might help a bit but I just try and be careful.
  18. Does the boat not sit on the bunks and the fins are supporting the boat on the trailer? If so that would be VERY bad. On my Nautique with my ramp I use if I put the trailer in too deep the front fin actually hit the axle and pinched my brake line a year ago so i have to be super careful when loading. I am looking to install a small roller on the bow to help lift the boat up slightly for clearance when loading on the trailer to avoid this. However the quick fix seems to be pulling the trailer just a little bit out of the water instead.
  19. I would rather have my glass 1/2 full of beer than 1/2 empty.
  20. Seems like a good episode for how its made.
  21. I would be open to the idea of some sort of regular subscription coaching especially if that meant a better bang for my buck. My hesitation with virtual coaching is the lag in feedback. I don't always ski on a dedicated regular basis so applying the coaching can be a challenge if I have a 2 week break. I don't think a flat subscription would work for unlimited coaching as some folks might take advantage of their coach by using up a significant amount of time because they are "unlimited". What I think would be more beneficial is a staged approach where the more coaching you get, the cheaper it gets. IE I pay $50/set for the first 2 sets. $48/for 3-5, and $45 for 6+. I think the challenge (for both the skier and coach) is what is a fair way to do it. Obviously this is a business for the coach so they need to be compensated fairly.
