  1. @wtrskior the Ford GT40 cannot have the hours checked for actual run-time. I faced the same issue when I was looking at a 2001 with bad gauges.
  2. Once the rains start our lake will get low enough so that you can no longer ski. By then its just no longer fun.
  3. You have Berkley waterski club and Diablo on the delta. Santa Clara water ski club in south San Jose.
  4. I am sporting an early/mid 2000's vintage HO Animal. I do not tighten the laces to make it easier to come out (god-forbid). Note with my original Animals I have never come out of my boots. When I got my reflex Supershell I was concerned that the front might pop off without coming out of the rear so that is why I don't cinch the laces. I also had a hard time adjusting to the boot when I first started and was cinching the rear laces. I tried loosening them and started skiing better so I just never went back. I would like to give a RTP a shot.
  5. I have always just said "ready whenever you are". But now that my wife is my primary driver and we have a 3 year old it has become more important. But there are some pretty good ones on the list that I might need to try out.
  6. @Chef23 brings up a good point. The driver should always have their hand on the throttle when the boat is underway. Even though I learned to drive with PP, I was taught to keep one hand on the throttle. The time it takes to take the right hand from the wheel to the throttle could make the difference between a serious injury or death. I was driving a 165 lb skier when he popped the handle at 32'. We didn't have a shock tube and the rope came around my neck. I had already pulled back the throttle as I felt the fall but I imagine that rope burn could have been a lot worse had the boat not slowed down at all. Thankfully I had a quick spotter to get the rope off me. But a sore neck and a nasty rope burn is still in my mind.
  7. A personal pet peeve of mine is when people don't take the shortened rope and stick it directly behind the driver's seat where it is clearly away from passengers toes and feet.
  8. Do you guys mind posting some pictures of your homemade handle contraptions?
  9. @Jody_Seal What do the strikes do on the TSC3 hull? I always thought that a TSC3 was just a TSC 2 with the addition of the hydro-gate but based on the photos you provided thats not the case. Did the strikes come towards the end of the TSC3 generation?
  10. So with the current rule you could potentially ski behind two different hulls for up two years correct. Lets say Nautique comes out with a new hull (SN 200v2.0) in 2017. For the 2017 and 18 ski year you could ski behind the both the 200 or the 200v2.0 as our current rule is written. What if the rule was amended to be not based on year but by hull design. As long as the speed control was the same (IE ZO). So in that hypothetical as long as Nautique stayed with the 200 hull, you could also use any 196 TSC3 hull that had ZO. That could go back to 2006 era if it has a ZO conversion. My 02 is technically a TSC2 hull so even if I did a ZO conversion it couldn't be used. This gives manufactures incentive to continue to develop 3 event boats so you don't have a 10-15 year span of boats that could be used like my example above.
  11. drink beers and BS with the buddies. I am in the same boat right now. It sucks.
  12. @Horton do you still use the same brand? Are these just to protect water from getting into your contacts or are these prescription? I refuse to touch my eye and use contacts so I am looking at prescription options for when I ski.
  13. Red I think. 2013 had the orange bottom but I think that was the only difference between the two.
  14. Like this? http://www.schnitzskis.com/images/926_Nate_Smith_DSC_3676a.JPG
  15. Does it have a Serial number that you can call HO directly for the details of the ski?
  16. @SM, I think that might be easier than storing a trailer in the hopes of selling it to someone that needs it. Since it only will fit certain hulls the amount of people that can use it is pretty small and its only going to get reduced as it gets older. Like @BraceMaker said, you need to find someone who needs one. I think if the insurance will buy it for $300 I would go for it. Maybe haggle with him and see if you can get $400.
  17. @swc5150 I tried looking at my sister in laws boobs once. I still have a limp. I need darker sunglasses for my own protection.
  18. I think Goode used to have something on their site that you could print on paper and cut. Pretty rough but can be used in a pinch
  19. I am up in Sacramento. Grew up skiing at Don Pedro on the course there. I think we skied New Melones once.
  20. Yep, that's mine. Ill gladly make a deal for college student.
