  1. @JC McCavit 35? Dang, that's cold! We had 54 water and 56 air yesterday in NH. Maybe the last day without a drysuit.
  2. Have you seen a Tiffany Blue (errr...I mean Calypso Green) ProStar up there? We've lucked out the last two Mondays in NH. Thin wetsuits so far, but thinking next time out will be dry suits. 10/14: 10/21:
  3. Has anyone tried the Radar Encore CGA vest? I rigged up a nylon belt on my comp vest, and it was the only thing holding it on after I took a nasty crash, and ripped right down the side of the vest. Looking for one with buckles to replace it.
  4. @skimtb - It's actually my friend's boat. We were thinking flat stickers (like something from Domed Numbers), but the dealer got back to him and is replacing them under warranty. I think it looks good on the water without the lettering though.
  5. @ski4xtc - that is a great looking boat! This is embarrassing....I shouldn't post anything after a couple drinks. We ski a '17. I'm still convinced the drain plug is in an odd location though. I'll take a photo next time we are out. Temporarily naked...
  6. Awesome boat with great wake. Base motor on the '15 has more than enough power at 1,000', with a very strong hole shot. Very roomy inside. Subjective, but I think it's the best looking of the new ski boats. Super easy to winterize. Seems like there may be some slight variances between boats though..... @ScottScott (and others) - the only way to reach the drain plug in my buddies '15, is to lay down on the floor and reach your arm all the way back towards the motor. Total pain in the a$$ to get to. @The_MS - no issues with the '15 riding level without a spotter, or weight on the passenger side. Chine spray looks to be pretty even, and the boat tracks the same with our without a spotter. Much more noticeable issue in my '03 RLXi. Agreed that the front blower fan is ridiculously loud. The interior is pretty loud overall with the bare fiberglass interior. Haven't been in one with carpet or other flooring material to see if there is a difference. I thought the new Nautique was pretty loud as well. Maybe they all are with the lack of carpet? Only a couple minor issues so far. Not a big fan of the raised letters. Boat doesn't even have 100 hours on it and the letters have all been peeling off one side, and starting to peel on the other (but at least they are being replaced under warranty). Bimini is very slick and easy to use (looks great as well), but both of the aluminum guides are worn to the point where the bimini can slip out. They can be replaced, but are ~$150 each.
  7. @Thomasasher (or anyone else with insight) - Is there any noticeable difference in the amount of flotation provided by the Evo2 and the Nitro 2.0? Thanks!
  8. @DangerBoy - Yessir. The ski feels real good at those numbers.
  9. @DangerBoy - Some days I suck less than others :p. Really like the ski though. I just checked my measurements, and cannot remember why I set my fin the way it is now. 29.5 6.917 2.515 .70 (this is a tough one to measure) It either moved, or I was a few beers in when I last adjusted it. I think I will give your numbers a try (minus 1 degree).
  10. @DangerBoy - Just to be sure I'm reading this correctly, .005 longer and 1 degree more wing angle made that much of a difference stock vs. Horton? Or are you referring to the larger variation between shallower/longer and Horton's #s?
  11. Figures both weekend days were super windy in NH, but this morning did not suck. Water is a bit refreshing at first, but once you make a few turns, it's perfect.
  12. Just wanted to bump this thread. Super cool of Nautique to put this thing on. A buddy and I grabbed the last couple spots (which happened to be the first of the morning) for the MacCallum's Boathouse/Northwood Lake stop. Lucked out and had the nicest weather so far this season, with relatively smooth water. Jon Travers and Pete Baker (his boat I believe) were super nice. 30 minutes allotted for each of us, so plenty of time for multiple open water passes. No pressure. Jon gave us some great tips and things to work on over the summer. Highly recommend it!
  13. @Ed_Johnson am I allowed to ask your height and weight?
  14. You may be selling yourself short ;). 1996 brochure says the Monsoon 320 is actually 320 hp.
  15. @sixball aaaaahhhhh, that would make sense. The 1999 brochure was probably already out when they released the LXi version.
  16. Not to geek out, but...... For some reason the Sunsetter LXi isn't in the 1999 Malibu Brochure. Only direct drive version is the LX. The base motor was 350 cubic inches and 310 h.p. Monsoon 325 made 325 hp. No 350 hp motor available. Sunsetter LX is 21' long with a 93" beam. The Sunsetter LXi shows up in 2000, but same base 310 hp motor and Monsoon 325. Still no 350 hp motor. LXI is 8" longer and 1/2" wider than the LX model. Back end of the hull "overhangs" (notched out?). Last two digits of the hull number will tell you the year.
  17. There is one on our lake that we ski behind every once in a while. Fun, fast boat, with a nice wake. Not much space to move around though.
  18. @Deanoski nice find! That seems like a heck of a deal.
  19. Looks good! Any photos from different angles?
  20. That is a great looking ProStar! Is it located in the Orlando area?
  21. @BraceMaker Ski boats are a bit behind the times on the lake we are on. The one ProStar is the only boat with that new-fangled technology, so no one knows any better :) . @Dockoelboto Same situation I was in two years ago. After fiddling with the old two speedo setup, I just knew I wanted some form of speed control. Was looking at ~20K maximum, so Zero-Off was not an option. Lucked out when the boat I found within my budget came with Z-Box.
  22. @Dockoelboto have you skied a boat with Zero-Off? I am a non-tournament skier looking to improve as well. We rotate between three boats: 2003 LXi with PP Z-Box, 2005 LXi with PP, and 2017 Prostar with Zero-Off. Maybe slightly noticeable differences in pull, but no one complains about using any of them. In my opinion (not worth much), it's more about spending quality time on the water with friends while trying to get better at it. You would have to be pretty uptight to turn down a ski because of PP.
  23. @OldboyII I wear long johns and a short sleeve shirt under mine. Went out in 45 and 48 degree water with no issues. I do find that I am damp from the chest up when I remove the drysuit. Legs are totally dry.
