  1. Doesn't the Intuition liner already act similar to an inject-able liner? It expands when heated, and contours to your foot for a custom fit as it cools (in the boot shell).
  2. That's a beauty. Forwarded the link to a friend of mine who is in the market. Tree fell on his 2008 last fall.
  3. It can be a little rough getting around in a ski boat, but you'll usually see a few at the sand bar.
  4. As far as keeping the non-skiing wife happy, going to an open bow was key for me. She was all for upgrading from our '95 closed bow Response to the '03 LXi. I'm a total hack beginner, and can't tell the difference between my wake and my buddies 2017 Prostar (at 34mph/22 off).
  5. It was fun when I was a kid. Pretty sure my knees would break if I tried it at this point.
  6. Awesome deal. Seem to go in the $22K to $26K range for the '03 to '06 models. Upper end of that range for one in that condition. If I didn't just get one last spring, I would be on my way to Texas.
  7. Don't see glass on Sunapee very often. There is still a course in Georges Mills, but as previously mentioned, it is submersible. Crew of regulars gets out there quite a bit early mornings. Not sure about Perry, but Tyler still has a house in Sunapee Harbor. Beautiful lake, but there is a cleaner (and flatter) one close by ;).
  8. I would say that's a 2016, and is one hell of a deal if legit. Odd that they have a 2016 65 for sale as well, but they want twice as much for it?? Thought it was the same ski, but the wing is different.
  9. It pains me to say I had 9 in my LXi once this summer. Here is 8 in the boat and one on a ski. Serious spray to say the least. Only dipped the bow once, but I was gritting my teeth the entire time.
  10. I have been using v8.06 in an 03 Response and just upgraded to v9. Same experience as TallSkinnyGuy. Locks on to the set speed much quicker. Don't have to worry about over-throttling. Just hammer down. Can't comment on feel in the course, as we only free-ski. Also, PP service is top notch. I have had plenty of dumb questions, and they are always very helpful.
  11. One of the guys I ski with has a 2002. Great ski boat. Same basic features as a Response, but 4" narrower. No trunk, so only ski storage is on the floor. 310 HP carb'd motor, and only 2,250 lbs. Fast boat for sure.
  12. I haven't crashed with mine yet, but I can pull both feet out relatively smoothly while sitting in the water. Something that was not possible with the Prodigy's.
  13. The top of the Profile seems pretty forgiving. To me it skis shorter than it looks.
  14. I just mounted a pair of the 2016 Profiles. Size 9 foot, size 9 Profile. Fit true to size and are very comfortable. Cranking down the lower drawstring gets it nice and snug to your foot, while leaving the upper one loose lets your foot release when necessary. The only negative I have seen (felt) is pulling the rear of the ski up when starting is hindered by the height of the boot (compared to the shorter Prodigy's I was using before). I only free-ski, so I can't offer any opinions on their abilities in the course. Closed toe is great for the colder weather/water as well.

    MY NEW TUG

Great looking boat. Love that motor in the LXi. Must be even better in the LX.
  16. @MISkier - That's exactly what I did a few mornings ago. I'd love some advice on how to avoid doing it again. Still very sore...in multiple places.
  17. I just called Radar with a quick question about their fin setting charts. They gave me the cell number for someone who could give me the best answer. Now I see why the name sounded familiar. Picked it up on the first ring, and was as nice as could be. Awesome!
  18. The LXi was the larger of the two Response models. LX was the smaller one.
  19. Trucks don't do much for me, but I sure like the boats in this thread. I towed my old 95 Response last year with my 2015 Acadia (just short distances). Not impressed, even with that small boat. May not be related, but just had to replace a rear wheel bearing and it is in the shop now getting a new torque converter. Rented a 2017 Ford Expedition to tow my "new" 03 Response from Florida to NH. That thing handled it like a champ. Now I'm using a 2008 Chevy 2500 work/plow truck that seems to have found it's summer niche. Not a big fan of the hand crank windows though ;).
  20. I've only been skiing for a couple years, and recently switched to a double boot. Mostly to force myself to get up with both feet in. I was constantly jacking my hips and back up when I was dragging my rear foot. This summer, with a rear boot, I have only tweaked my back once, and my constant hip flexor pain is gone.
  21. Extra pieces that came with my boat. Free, if anyone wants any of this stuff.
