  1. It sounds like the judges towers are in less than ideal locations. Backup to seeing critical locations in the course is video backup. With less than ideal tower locations, the TOURNAMEN should make sure they have additional video camera coverage. Simply expanding on the basic required cameras (gate, boat path/end course) to fill in some areas that can't be seen well from the towers should be the responsibility of the tournament. We're not talking a small local record tournament here.....its the Masters. While TWBC would likely have had a view that clarified that situation, its pretty weak for the tournament to rely on the broadcasts video UNLESS they know the broadcast will be thoroughly covering the action with multiple cameras. That being said....it is what it is. We don't know how far Freddie went with his protest. There is a process to challenge, beyond that you have to accept the ruling. There is a line, and if crossed there should be some form of punishment. No one seems to have 1st hand knowledge of what went on there, so its hard to be critical.
  2. Just watch video of Dane Mechler.....
  3. I never drove the course before speed control, but still prefer to keep one hand on throttle. I have heard of speed ZO loosing satellite and going full throttle, and other safety issues I want to be able to react quickly.
  4. I think its sold exclusively at Home Depot. Promotional package includes an impact drill, battery, and charger.
  5. Buying 3 new tires after 5 years is enough for my wallet (guess I could just buy 2 and keep and older as spare)..... needlessly buying 4 more? Nah.
  6. @MitchellM I don't know what others may be around, but there is Tommy's in Clermont.
  7. Jodi was very active, working closely with the owners, in some cross promotion involving the opening of the restaurant and coordinating the tournament on their opening weekend. He included that as the 3rd Wrapped Roots Tournament (one in spring and one in fall at Jodi's site.) The tournament in that cove worked out pretty good despite the boat traffic, even on a saturday with good weather the traffic didn't pick up too much till noon. There are future plans to do more tournaments and work with the city of Leesburg to potentially close off the cove for a block of time. Todd Ristorcelli was there for the whole event filming content and skied in the tournament, as did Jodi. Jon Travers stopped by toward end of day to run a set also. Great day for all involved. If you look around the restaurant you may find one of Jodi's Wrapped skies displayed, along with one of his Wrapped Roots tournament bibs, nicely displayed in a handsome ski themed case.
  8. Highly recommend Jodi Fisher, Jodi's Ski Skool. He has a mini course set up and does spring and fall tournaments that include grass routes classes, maybe you'll be there during his spring tournament. Great with the kids and all level of adults. Has some on site boarding, including his tree house.
  9. @Horton @Drago “A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.”
  10. 3 words you don't want to hear.... "Is it in"
  11. Are you sure the movement is at the ball, or is the surge brake no good and allowing the actuator to move in and out without resistance.
  12. Only tournament this year was on a lake I ski often (along with another later this year.) May be an 8th or 9th lake later this year.
  13. For any shipping I try to use UPS, even if it's a little more. Tracking and reliability are much better.
  14. @Ha. Yeah....the chicken or egg thing.
  15. For a jumper, Freddy Krueger is pretty insightful about slalom. Must have learned it from his wife.
  16. Maybe they're just in denial that there are alligators (not gar) in their lake. I replace buoys often with a row of puncture marks on it....aint no gar.
  17. I think the primary objection to current rules is that it give the same value to someone that S turns to get back to wakes before next boat guide, as someone that makes the turn and makes an attempt at getting around the next buoy but just misses inside. Than_Bogan's suggestion means someone that just barely gets a ski around the buoy gets same score as someone that makes a turns and misses just inside the next buoy. While it would remove any need to attempt an S turn for full buoy score, I think its a step backward. At least getting back to wakes is a progression over someone that just barely gets the ski outside the buoy and falls just after it makes a turn back, and it should get scored higher. I guess a line has to be drawn somewhere, and some degree of un-fairness will happen. I'm just not sure there is a better solution over what we have now.
  18. It still amazes me that MC has stuck with a system, FOR 8 YEARS, that just isn't practice in this application. When properly calibrated, it is an extremely accurate system. However, very few people that own this boat use it in a situation that maintains calibration.
  19. Actually.....the pressure regulator has a fuel filter in it. I don't know that there is any recommended replacement of that from Mastercraft. Its irrelevant if you have the older fuel pump modules branded Millinium industries, as there is no pressure regulator to replace it with. If you have the Milllinium pump modules whether that filter fills up and you get reduced flow, or more commonly, the pressure regulator doesn't maintain pressure the way it should, you'll have to purchase a whole new pump module for $800 or so. There is a pressure regulator kit for the newer branded TI fluid pumps for about $150. (the 2 pumps have the same manufacturer model # and same MC part # (except the newer pumps may be notated with a PRINTED "A" at the end of the MC part#....mine has a written in "A" but is still a Millinium pump with no pressure regulator replacement available) ....TI Fluid purchased Millinium Industries.)
  20. I suppose that may be possible. Not easy....but potentially possible.
  21. @UWSkier That won't work with the 2014+ Prostar system
  22. The type of boot it sounds like you have, should be left loose enough that you can kick your ski off at the end of set fairly easily without loosening strings to get it off. A firm tightness is good for control, but it needs to be loose enough that your foot will slip out in a fall. That is the appeal of the release systems, you can have a tight boot (in that case you want it tight enough that the boot won't come in during a fall, allowing the release system to do the work.) Sorry about the injury, hope for a quick recovery and back on the water soonest....with a slightly looser boot.
  23. @chrislandy That is definitely a problem (malfunction) with the sender system @ProStah_Skiah Filling to full occasionally isn't enough to keep it accurate. Unless you fill each time between a full fill with gas from the same tank at gas station, it can get off. Ethanol % can vary even between various tanks of 10%. 10% means it can be up to 10%. So one tank could be 7%, the next could be 9%. Thats enough to throw it off significantly. This fuel sender system is just a very poor choice. I was going to say for a tournament ski boat, but there are probably many other vehicles this would be problematic in. If you have your own tank, and fill the boat up everytime that tank is filled, then you can use partial fillups. Thats about the only situation I can think of that it works well. For those, like us, that trailer their boat whenever used it works ok. I never fill partial, if I may need gas while out I go ahead and fill up. For those on a lake, especially a ski school or ski club....its a very bad system. I think the management system is a weak work around for a poorly chosen system. Instead of a workaround, how about choosing a system that works.
  24. You probably won't go wrong either way. Other factors are age (how soon may you consider dropping speed,) course or open water skiing ? How much does your weight fluctuate (sometimes I'm about your weight....sometimes I need to drop 10 pounds or so....) 34mph course skiing the 66 might be a good choice.
  25. Their website should have a size chart that shows recomended weight skier for each ski size. The speed you ski also matters as slower speed will want a little larger ski. At your size you'll likely be between a 66 and 67
