  1. Thanks @BraceMaker, I’m more likely to go under in my comp vest than my boots are to head for the bottom, they float just fine. I’ll stick to taking my ski off in the water!!!!!
  2. I’m on the MOB double plate also, it has never released unexpectedly and gives me the peace of mind to lace up my bindings tight like I prefer. The biggest inconvenience I have found is that once I finish and loosen the laces up, when I try to yank the ski off in the water, my front binding releases. While inconvenient, it is a perfect illustration that it will indeed release when tugged in the wrong direction. Mike is great to deal with and will answer any questions you have.
  3. Dale Coleman, Ski World Orlando.
  4. For those pouring gas from the can, look into a jiggle pump. I’d never heard of them before but amazing tool to transfer gas. Harbor Freight sells them in different sizes.
  5. Check cathywilliams.com. I think she is doing vacation rental and some water/boat fun. She is the former manager at Performance Ski and former pro wakeboarder so she knows a thing or two.
  6. Thinking of tying some raw chicken to the turn balls to encourage myself to get wide...
  7. Or as in the case of a ski buddy here, you set the rope length and zero off for yourself and it’s still wrong.
  8. Gosh TEL, will this excuse get used before or after the tequila excuse you rely so heavily on???
  9. I use a $70 insurance policy for cold starts, radio use, inflating tubes, under inflated trailer tires, those that aren’t as maintenance oriented, etc., a jump box from Costco. Nice peace of mind and have scored more than a few beers helping someone else get started!
  10. Here’s another Shannon story. I skied with her yesterday before our group had a meeting about how to bring skiing ambassadorship to Orlando. Shannon was the only one in the group that said “well can we at least ski before our meeting about skiing?” You will not meet a better poster child for “just get out and ski!”
  11. Check out the Orange County sportsman club, very close to your intended location and may offer a storage solution. As Scott mentioned, lots of great boating locations in addition to the public and private water courses. Put the word out when you get here, you’ll find ski buddies.
  12. We can fix it. My dad has an awesome set of tools, he’s a tv repairman.
  13. Hey TEL, you just need a better driver....
  14. This is our public course in Orlando, very conveniently hidden where nobody can see it! The road widening project of Interstate 4 brought the new shoreline 10 feet too close to one of the turn balls. The city told us we had to remove the course but we said were there first! The city then agreed to pay to move the course a little further from the shoreline and pay for a professional survey and re-installation by Eddie Roberts the course guru, should happen in the next few months! If you're in town come ski! BIG thanks to Commissioner Robert Stuart for coming to our aid and Mayor Buddy Dyer's office for keeping our 40 year old course in the lake!
  15. That's fantastic! Sounds like a great onsite diagnosis of the problem and a keen understanding of engine function.
  16. My favorite pics are not of me but I did take them.
  17. We ski on Lake Ivanhoe (downtown orlando) almost every Saturday year round (you would think I would ski better based on that description.) Saturday 8am at the dock. We use several boats so just show up the first time to see if you need to bring your own. You can call Mike at Ski World in Orlando to make sure we are going that weekend. PM me if you want to chat more!
  18. 8 am at the dock on lake Ivanhoe this Saturday! open invite! For the uninitiated, it's a 6 ball course in the shadow of downtown orlando.
  19. 8 am at the dock on lake Ivanhoe this Saturday! open invite! For the uninitiated, it's a 6 ball course in the shadow of downtown orlando.
  20. There is always plan Z, a six pack will get you some pulls on Lake Ivanhoe just about any Saturday morning! If it's Sam Adams we may even take you all the way back to the dock!!
  21. There are 5 of us that ski every saturday on Lake Ivanhoe which is in downtown. 8 am at the dock!!
