  1. that ski looks more worn out than the binding.... Maybe flex tape there too
  2. @Wish - Looks like you're planning to drop some serious coin...........
  3. If traffic and conditions are THAT bad you shouldn’t be skiing at all. Too dangerous. Wait for the crazies to leave .
  4. Agreed. would love to see Joel win it
  5. @Scott Russell- again/ unless you are training to ski competitively at a HIGH level, ZO is NOT needed, adds nothing, isn’t worth it , etc. Are we there yet??????
  6. @JimP - point was to state that data is needed to support any sort of statement on results, and that opinions are simply that. Opinions. As noted earlier, that some of the worlds best are using tfactors and performing at exceptionally high levels lends credence to the expectation of some level of inherent quality. Is there some inference here that if you had been in a different boot you wouldn't have crashed or it wouldn't have been as bad? That will never be known. Might have been worse. People who drive the best cars in the world still have crashes and injuries, neither of which are the fault of the car. Hope you recovered well and are back on the water .
  7. Yes the 91-94 MC’s have a LOT of chine spray starting at even -32
  8. This is a personal reference like many other things. I also shifted from an elliptical a few years ago.. Correctly you should be using the largest diameter that feels comfortable to you, to create the least amount of strain and wear on your hands . I wear medium gloves and use a 1.062 . Others I ski with use larger diameters (1.12 and even 1.18). If you ski with others ask to try their handles if you don't have a shop near to go grab some. Lot's of manufacturers options too as you've already read here in BOS . Personally I've been happy with Radar and HO handles and have not seen the need for more expensive options, although they don't offer as many diameter variations. Again , personal preference. As to 12 vs 13 , another personal choice. The 13 gives more room in the event of a mis-grab which happens to everyone. A 12 has been noted as assisting on keeping hands closer together which helps with arms positioning, so pro's there too. Onward........
  9. @rawly- Cool old boat. I ski behind a buddy’s 92 shortline comp fairly often. Yours should sell easily at 5k I’d think.
  10. @Scott Russell - summary - unless you are going to ski tournaments at a high level you do not seen Zero Off. Stargazer PP will servie you just fine
  11. @Tbonecpa - put that Triumph on the wall and get them something much better to ski on
  12. A key message coming out of this session for all should be to RECORD YOUR SETS so you can watch them back and SEE what's happening vs just thinking you have an idea of what is happening or listening to the folks in the boat. I see SO many things when I watch my own skiing that I'm not sensing when I'm skiing. I have to SEE IT to really fill in those gaps and then execute on the water. Even if you DO have access to a good coach, still record the sets so you capture what you did and what they say. We capture EVERY set and every free skiing session. No better training tool . ok.........posted this before they got to this part of the podcast. Point confirmed
  13. Pages and pages of comments here on a topic which is not about to change. Opine all you want but guess what next year will bring.........
  14. Way too much drama here. My needs are simpler. I've had no issues at all with Radar or HO handles. Yes I do put my own shrink wrap line protector on for about $2. More gas for the boat. Onward..................
  15. Logically attempting to infuse a certain amount of flex in a rope is like a component that will wear down, creating a different result than desired. As such buying a rope with defined flex is virtually guaranteed to change faster than a rope built with little/no flex. Yes we all know that any rope will have some amount of flex but again why intentionally buy something that will change fairly quickly . A rope with little/no flex built in delivers a more consistent pull and with less change forward. My rationale for the S lines R3. Least flex rope they build - great rope. Yes indeed this is a very personal choice thing, and yes being free of tournament is invigorating. Trying to please the world is impossible.
  16. @TTL - for a poly mainline and no 55’s - your asking price IMO is quite excessive
  17. I have a portable course without 55’s but use a range finder and just a single buoy via concrete coffee container anchor and drop one 55 at each end . Simple and accurate
  18. Tried StarBrite mildew remover? Always worked great for me with a brush. Leave it on for a few minutes.
  19. You can Google search reviews of skis and it will pull the BOS reviews too. Simple
  20. @markn - curious what you were riding previously to the 01
  21. Once again +1 for R3. Fabulous rope.
