SHEESH the second and fifth boats are sure lookers! I've skied behind a lot of boats, but somehow never gotten to have a go behind this generation of ProStar. One day... Super super cool rigs!
@skierjp Fastest I've ever pulled a footer was at 38mph. I just think it'd be nice to not be at a million RPM at that speed if the boat is already quick enough out of the hole, that's all.
Drove a 5.3 2 summers ago. I was shocked by how quickly it accelerated. It only hit 42mph at like 5500 RPM though. Honestly kept thinking a prop with a higher pitch might be good on it. I was only needing to use a quarter throttle to pull up a fully grown man. We just didn't need that crazy kind of acceleration and a little more top end would be fun for barefooting or tooling around a public lake.
Up until my college schedule prevented it, I enjoyed going to the Seattle Boat Show every year with my dad. Last one I went to, I remember chatting with the local Nautique dealer for a little bit while sitting in a SN200CB.
My D3 Quest 45 seems to whistle somewhat frequently. Not all the time, but I definitely notice it a fair amount. IDK if I voted wrong, but I'd say I notice somewhere between "frequently" and "sometimes"..
I'm only now consistently running 15-off, 30mph... So my goal is to just keep getting faster and shorter. Best I've been able to do is a couple passes at 32mph, 15-off. Want to run 36mph soon (perhaps by end of summer??) and then start to shorten. Eventually having partial ownership of a lake and (even better) a house on it. Dream boat is a new ProStar, but I'd like to purchase a 1998 or 1999 Ski Nautique within the first few years of a full time job. Almost done with college and currently looking for a start to my career in commercial real estate to support all this madness! I've only been waterskiing for about 3.5 years now, but I'm addicted...
San Diego. City is awesome and you can drive 15 mins to ski in Mission Bay or an hour and a half to ski at Imperial Lakes.
Seattle area in the summer is, however, unbeatable. Home of Radar, Ski Park, Hilltop, etc...
I have a D3. The only "stickers" on it say the length and serial number and are on the tail. Don't really care about them and figure I'll end up selling the ski one of these days. I stuck a few more stickers on it for fun too.
