  1. Our little group doesn't take the sport or ourselves too seriously, so we don't have any Pet Peeves........except maybe if someone forgets the Bailey's for the coffee.
  2. @harrison_343 I assume you're talking about the impeller?
  3. See Arthur at Ski Eden. https://www.edenskilake.com/
  4. use a fish camera with display designed for ice fishing. One of our members has one and we needed it last spring to do some inspecting on our course. If I recall, his even has infrared lighting since light diminishes the deeper you go. (If I remember much from my SCUBA days)
  5. @wilecoyote I pulled some ligaments in my right ankle last summer after a bad fall and once healed, went out on doubles. When you're used to turning on a high end slalom ski, you sort of have to re-learn how to turn on a pair of combo's again. Like you, it felt really weird, but it was sort of an evaluation that I was healed.
  6. I had a good friend that was going to start competing so I figured I would give it a try. I know on one occasion I got a pretty cool trophy. Memories: Great drivers Great new boats to ski behind Really good people
  7. Bodacious is right up there. Probably more feared than Cassius Clay or Mike Tyson. And I doubt Secretariat would last very long in the ring with him. :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodacious_(bull)
  8. @Kevin364 You've got a lot more years left than you think. My past few times skiing in FL, I was definitely the young guy on the dock, and definitely the least talented skier. I'm currently on a Carbon V (which is really nice for both open water and course), but now looking at a Vapor Pro Build to allow me to push harder in our course. Key thing is staying in shape. Pilates and diet. Pilates and diet. Oh, and a ton of pullups every morning. :)
  9. Ski in the morning, beach in the afternoon.
  10. See Arthur at Eden. Good guy, and will definitely improve your skiing.
  11. As much as 30% more efficient between 2500-4000 RPM Provides up to 30% greater range Noticeably less vibration Up to 50% more reverse thrust An old sales trick is to never provide specific data.
  12. After 15 years of abuse, my old Connelly ski bag was replaced with a new one. But now, I'm looking at Radar skis. :(
  13. Continue to surround myself with water ski loving, motorcycle enthusiasts and generally good adventurous people who immerse themselves in life.
  14. 1) 32 off works better if I'm not trying to "muscle" it through the pass. 2) Arthur (at Eden Ski Lake) makes me better every time I'm there.
  15. Can I be intoxicated, sitting in the Captain's seat and tell the officer that the boat's on Auto-Pilot? Just sayin......
  16. Arrived with no issues. Delta did a nice job. Great three days of skiing with Arthur and sharing stories.
  17. I'm going with padding the hell out of my ski in the ski bag and do a check in at the airlines. Maybe for the trip back, I'll contact ShipSkis 'cause it will be less hassle, (and based on what the airline charges for the trip down). Thanks everyone for your help. And my ski is only a $1000 Carbon V, so if it gets broke, all the more reason to upgrade.
