  1. A few years ago my buddy's kid was in the boat with us and being a brat. He grabbed a pair of gloves and threw them in the lake and was told, "better not do that again". The gloves were retrieved and sure enough, the kid threw 'em in again. So my buddy takes his T-Rex dinosaur toy and chucks it. It's still down there, waiting to be discovered by a future paleontologist.
  2. Bigger Spray. Walls of Water. Spray Spray Spray! My skiing ain't that good, so at least I can work on that.
  3. yeah, but how's the walleye fishing there? :)
  4. At 60 I can still hit a 80mph fastball, but my sprint to first base is now many, many minutes slower. :(
  5. Purchased new and used once to fly to Florida. With original Box $175 + shipping to lower 48 Text: two 4 eight 8 four two zero one two 0
  6. @DangerBoy I'll add that I use a good 'ol Magic Eraser to get the white vinyl to "pop" and it removes just about any kind of dis-coloration.
  7. Years ago in another life, I installed robotic storage/retrieval systems in Ford, GM factories. In some cases, we put them in offices and had to be careful when assembling with the grease, oil on the chains, etc. When we did have a mishap, we used a bottle of Fantastik to remove the spots. We would soak the area and then use a paper towel to blot it and finally work the grease out of the carpet. It always amazed me how well it worked.
  8. don't forget to inspect your plug wires for insulation breakdown.
  9. "I don't know. His wife said he walked out here last night. His ski's here, so his body's gotta be in the drink".

    Rudder advice

@ProStah_Skiah Thank you very much for the detailed info. I do love the way my boat loads the wheel in the slalom course, but would like a bit less right wheel pull when free skiing, so I just want to correct a small amount. Good info and I'll start very slow. 2Valve

    Rudder advice

Interesting technical discussion. So if my rudder is off-center off the propshaft, to the port side as shown in BraceMaker's photo, AND the boat pulls to the right, would I: 1. Grind the port side of the rudder? 2. Would I grind the total height of the blade? 3. Is there a certain angle that I would want to start with? Thanks, 2Valve
  15. I ski behind one a few times a week and it's a gorgeous boat, inside and out. Wakes are world class.
  16. @bananaron I too had a great dad to thank for getting us kids on the water. He started pulling us with a 1960 Lone Star with a 40horse Johnson. That soon gave out so he convinced my mom to get a Reinell with a fantastic 70horse Johnson. (one of the best outboards ever made IMHO). He never skiied but always would be in the boat with a cold one, enjoying just being around the water, always with a huge smile. A special person. Survivor or D-Day and Battle of the Bulge. A man's man. Not many left these days.
  17. I throw six of those 60lb. sand tubes into the bed of my pickup for winter traction. I just take a couple in the spring and put 'em in the boat. One in the bow and one in front of the pole that I can move from left to right depending on passenger girth. :)
  18. @ReallyGottaSki Not so sure the average female's weight is 167 (2010). :( At least not in my neck of the woods....
  19. I ice skated on my lake on Sat. Does that count?
  20. I was having ignition problems a few years ago in my 2001 PCM (350 Chevy) motor and had purchased a few ICM's. The problem was a bad connection in the coil so I have a box of these that are brand new and can't use. Let me know what you need and I'll make you a great deal.
  21. Many years ago, I held on when I knew an offside OTF was coming and broke my left foot in the fall. Years before that, another incident and OTF, resulting in a blown ear drum. I was skiing with Nate Smith last summer and he commented that if you're not going for a PB, World Title, etc., you gotta let go. So sorry to hear of you injuries. You'll be back. It's too great a sport to give up.
  22. @MISkier My unit is a 45,000 btu Modine. It takes a 3" vent pipe that I ran through the roof in my attic. I bought the piping (double wall) at Menard's. I installed it myself. :)
