  1. O'neil Slasher!! Best floating most comfortable Non USCG vest I've ever had!
  2. I’m thinking of going back to animals because my Xmax bindings never stay snug enough near the front of my foot. Are these available to purchase yet?
  3. The best gloves that seem to work for me and many in our club is the Tail 41's. They seem to last the longest. I did up to a 1.062" Masterline from typical .95 or 1" handles in the past and my hands like that much better.
  4. I hold the handle between my fingers and palms. Started using a 1.062 Masterline handle and only HO Tail 41 gloves and the hands have been in much better shape over the past few years.
  5. @savaiusini I've always heard that you either want both feet to come out or both feet to stay in the bindings during a crash. I lace my xMax's pretty snug at the moment and usually the ski stays on eliminating any ankle issues. Is my above statement true? I used to ski animals about 6 years ago but once I tried the textile boats the feel was so much better. I started skiing better too.
  6. @Horton Thanks for the insight.
  7. @Horton Are there any cameras you'd recommend that are thousands to purchase?
  8. @skigirl00 Check this one out. If you want a warranty though I'd purchase new from HO or a dealer.
  9. @skigirl00 awesome! Good luck!
  10. @skigirl00 Wow, my 2nd slalom ski back in 1998 was a Concept. Heavy old sob which in fact someone on the lake still has it. I'm not sure what the current concept is like. The Syndicate Omni is the lightest of the three they sell. If the current 2018 concept is heavier you might be ok with the Carbon Omni. I just had the pleasure of speaking with HO Customer Service a few days ago and they could not have been more helpful. Give them a call and they can probably help you pick the correct ski.
  11. @skigirl00 Ya know I'm really not sure. I'd try and demo both of them if you can somewhere. I typically do that but took a chance on the Omni. I've gone from the A1, to the S2, to the Omni so I wanted to stick with Syndicate type skis. The nice thing I like about the Omni is it's slightly wider all throughout so it's very stable. You can ski it at slower speed too and not have tremendous drag. As advertised they say you can run more passes and not feel as tired and that's very true.
  12. HO Omni Syndicate if you can swing the little extra. Awesome ski for the course and open water free skiing. Very stable!
  13. I've got the orbit camera mount. Check it out here. http://www.theskidoc.com/ski-doc-camera-mount-orbit.htm I still get a decent amount of vibration just using an iPhone so the videos aren't as clear as I'd like. I have played with the adjustments a bit. I mainly use it to review all our runs so each of us can learn. Here's one you can view. https://www.facebook.com/FishLakeSkiClub/videos/1795949023817085/ I'm not knocking it. It works great for a cheaper option for me.
  14. Any issues with the foot bed coming loose now that that increased the amount of velcro?
  15. "Ski to flex freely" - did you feel like you were able to get on edge better out of the turn and have better angle from the ball through the 2nd wake?
  16. Wow - super smooth versus my skidoc mount.
  17. Hey guys - I'm brand spankin' new to the forum so thanks for the add. Lots of awesome stuff on here that I've been reading over the years. I'm skiing the HO Omni Syndicate and love the ski!! Currently I'm using the HO xMax bindings (double boot) with the traditional plate but I've thought about snagging a closeout deal of the direct connect xMax but I'm not sure on safety, durability, and efficiency. I did quite a bit of searching on this topic last night and didn't come up with much. My skill level: I'm skiing at 28 off and working my way up to 34 and am hoping to jump into 32 off maybe later this year. Kudos to the Omni as I've been a 22 off skier for the past 4 or 5 years. Came from the S2 and love it even more. I have a few concerns. As I'm skiing more aggressive the spills are a little more intense. Can two binding screws really hold the bindings to the ski well with my setup? I've always been taught to check your bindings every few runs. It's easy with the traditional plate because the screws are easily accessible unlike the direct connect underneath the foot bed. I haven't seen online a tons of folks using them so I was curious. Maybe they can really help my skiing maybe not? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
