  1. @Deanoski I know all about the heater core. Your statement of ‘turn on heater core’ is vague; could be read to mean you think that turning on the heater (fan) switch will start the flow of AF to the core. (Which is not the case, and might mislead others.) I was hoping maybe you had plumbed the core in a way that allowed you to turn flow to it on/off from the block, perhaps even divert and drain easily without disconnecting the hoses.
  2. I'm curious, @Deanoski: what do you mean by 'turn on heater core'? I take it to mean you have a shutoff valve to block flow to/from said core?
  3. Thanks, on multiple counts, @Wish. And you are absolutely right - the card and self checks are for the time between annual visits! And if think you see something fishy - don’t wait for that annual, go now. Thanks for clarifying!
  4. Don’t know why I didn’t think to add these with my post above.?‍♂️ My Doc suggested once a month self-exams; I’m going to ask my Significant Other to help. And offer to help with her monthly ‘pink ribbon’ self-exam. ? (Brief edit: My recent bad spot was on my low back, centered about waist high...and hardly sees the sun over the last 30 years. The spots can showup anywhere - not just where you’d expect: face, scalp, hands shoulders, etc.)
  5. Wondering how many suffer from tennis vs Golfer’s or Little Leaguers’ elbow? The difference, as told by my Crackypractor, is outside (tennis) vs inside elbow... I too switched to double overhand for pull-up, around the island and pull out and have begun to embrace using different handles sometimes too. It’s helped. Being conscious of grip pressure - and relaxing it - makes a difference too. I’ve said it before and will again here - post-Ski icing helps!
  6. My turn. Hadn’t been since 2012, but the Doc had taken an extensive inventory including pics then...so she easily knew there was a NEW mole in my low back (that rarely gets much sun! WTF?!). Results today from last week’s biopsy: atypical/pre-cancerous. Making an Appt soon to get it removed. Don’t wait gents - get checked!!!
  7. Great option, @Wish. With the added bonus that Beyond The Wake doesn’t sponsor a certain documented douchebag the way ML does!

  9. My foot is size 13, and it JUST fits in the Reflex (white cuff) with the thin liner. Tried an Intuition liner this Spring - too thick. I’d be surprised if your size 14 would fit at all, much less ‘comfortably’.
  10. Wouldn’t it be interesting to watch a time-lapse vid from start to ski? Pick a lake, any lake. First shovel to first buoy...
  11. I too would like to see the Mr Smith drama go away. But not by sweeping it under the rug, shuffling it down the stack of threads to be ignored. The solution, for me, by now, is simple: When the predator problem is finally and fully in the open and dealt with, his right to sanctioned participation has been revoked, and his Sponsors FINALLY do the moral, ethical thing, and kick this Wonderfully talented POS* to the curb....THEN it will be appropriately diminished and forgotten. It’d be great to see him and his enabling sponsors donate to some worthy causes - victim support, education and rehab for sex offender types, etc. If you can read through that WaPO article- and substitute your daughter/granddaughter/niece’s name every time it says ‘underage girl’ - and not want to wring Smith’s neck...our values are waaay different. And I’m comfortable with mine. If you’re one that really wants this to go away because you still support him and his awful actions...ask yourself ‘why?’ Don’t bother with a long windy post trying to justify him or yourself...just think about it quietly. ‘Why do I support a guy who beat his girl, had sex with minors...? Why do I think that’s ok?’ It’s not ok. It will never be ok. These posts and the people advocating for some moral and ethical - if not legal - justice aren’t the problem; Nate Smith and his enablers - Masterline, D3 Skis, Silver Spray Sports, Zero Off, and AWSA - are the problem. *PreysOn(young)Skiers {Edit: And it would be nice to see Mr. Smith's parents enable their CHILD to accept help...before he (adversely) impacts more children.}
  12. @UWSkier You shouldn’t dare wash it, or be worried...that’s Holy water you were soaking in! ?
  13. My opinion, mine only (though you're welcome to agree): While it is "helpful" to see the statement above from the Accused himself, it frankly very likely does little if anything to sway opinion one way or the other. Extra marital affairs and the like ARE examples of bad judgement. Domestic violence and allegations of repeated underage sexual misconduct are simply abhorrent and egregious...and highly suggestive of much deeper issues than bad judgement. And certainly worthy of more than the slap on the wrist afforded by SafeSport. Your statement just doesn't cut it for me, Mr. Smith. At this point, from my perspective - one I suspect is shared by many/most others - the only thing that's gonna possibly sway my opinion is a copy of the Mueller, eerrrr, SafeSport report - redacted only to protect the identities of the accusers. I'd welcome a chance to review the preponderance of evidence - without the biased filters applied.
  14. http://iwwfed-ea.org/competition.php?cc=T-20MAL017&page=live @UWSkier per Tony and others...depth, primarily.
  15. Also - At home or on the road, Micro-fiber towels are the ticket. Superlight, less bulky, absorbing, and quick drying. Waaay better than typical beach towel. Rainleaf Travel Towel,Fast Drying... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077HQ9FMS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

  17. @GaryWilkinson If your helm is like mine (‘98), there are bushings in there you can replace that will reduce some wheel play/slop, in the case it’s not just in the rack/pinion as you suspect. Easy fix, have pics.
  18. A friend with a ‘95 SN went to carb when the ProTec failed (not sure if the TBI was bad or not?), then after a few years of not liking the cold-bloodedness’ of the carb, a couple years ago he installed some aftermarket TBI system that is simply a POS....forced long idle (2min) at start - every time, even when warm; isn’t playing nicely with PP, hard to maintain 34MPH in open water; has to request adjustments from the MFG and they send him a ‘90s-era EEPROM (chip) to install (to change idle settings, mixture, etc.) Can’t remember the name of it...but you don’t want it!!
  19. No worries @JeffSurdej - this is *Fantasy* right? No heart patients or rockets are losing their life over it...
  20. What's the story behind the post-event scratch of Terry? "Terry Winter has been removed from California Pro Am and replaced with the next available skier in the draft. If there is no one available to replace then a "dummy" skier called "FWS Skier" will be substituted in and given FWS points of the lowest ranked skier in that event. Please check your roster on fantasy.ski and re-draft as necessary. "
  21. No worries Mate! Here’s a pic just in case. It’s possible it might measure slightly shorter from the center point (between the holes) to the tail, hence the 1/16, maybe an 1/8 fudge factor. Hope Sam chimes in; he may have a solution. What bindings are you looking to fit?
  22. @Stevie Boy Au contraire, mon frere...I gave you the measurement from the most-tailward mounting hole for the front plate to the tail. I’ll snap a pic if you like. Taking the plates off to measure ‘NASA-quality’ would...make me...thirsty. ?
  23. @Stevie Boy I’m reading 30 7/16” +\- 1/16 fudge factor. (Measured with my Reflex plates on). Lemme know if you want pics or other!
  24. Thank you @MISkier for connecting me with Doug J; I was able to get a set in on Tuesday; thanks @kurt for the willingness, sorry the weather didn’t play out for us. Next year!? First trip with the SporTube set up and it worked well. I got a helluva deal earlier this summer on a closeout ST3, and picked up a used Dakine 172cm padded soft bag, no wheels (Thanks @MickeyThompson ) to hold everything and make it more TSA-proof. For a few years I’ve been using a nylon Speedo BRAND back pack to carry gear; it holds everything but your ski, dries quickly, ultralight. Worked great for this trip too. The best part was based on a tip I read from another Baller about using a safety bungee or some such to secure the SporTube just in case Mr TSA had trouble with the lock pin. Sure enough; dude in GRR failed to secure the pin through both halves...but my safety backup held. (See pic) ) For my next trip I will print tips and tape them on the case - bigger font than the factory sticker - to better ensure they pin it correctly. PS: The funky yellow thing is a scuba-centric folding hanger I picked up from AMZN. It’s Bitchin. You’re welcome.
