  1. I'm interested in this thread too. I'm just south of Mango Lake, at the Lucaya Lake Club in Riverview in the winter. We do enjoy skiing at Ski Paradise in Mulberry though. Great conditions and a super community of skiers.
  2. Thanks a lot for the video. Very nice job. Impressive accuracy.
  3. Maybe around 110 homes. So far the boat traffic is minimal to non-existent. I believe the max HP regulation is to prevent wakeboarding and surfing. We suspect fishing a 78 acre lake gets boring after a while. And Tampa Bay and the Gulf are very close, for much better fishing. I hope a submersible course may an option for the future. It's the lake aesthetics that may be a resident concern. Our son doesn't live on the water, but the Lucaya waterfront is an option for our retirement in 5 or so years. Let's see.
  4. My son is not a skier. I am the skier. ;) The community is new. New homes are still being built. You are correct.... not many docks on the lake. Maybe a handful. A few more are pending, but it's a smallish lake. There is one ski boat (Ski Nautique) being used for free skiing, and the balance are fishing boats. The Home Owner Association is being taken over by the residents now, which may change some rules maybe. Only those living on the lake can motor boat on the lake. There is no course yet. Hopefully one in the future. Let's see. Thanks.
  5. Build brand new at the Esplanade Lake Club in Fort Myers. Ski course and ski community is existing with Miramar Lakes and FGCU on the same lake. Close to Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Beach. Very close to RSW airport. Eden Ski Lake is near too. https://www.taylormorrison.com/fl/fort-myers-naples/fort-myers/esplanade-lake-club?utm_medium=organic&utm_source=google+local&utm_campaign=FL.Fort%20Myers%20Naples.5.1505&utm_content=FL.Fort%20Myers%20Naples.5.1505
  6. And another house at Lucaya Lake Club. Brand new. Our son lives in this resort-style community. McCormick and Ski Paradise are near too. The number one beach in the USA is about 50 minutes away...... Siesta Key. Plus a ton of others. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/12315-Nora-Grant-Pl-Riverview-FL-33579/332844469_zpid/?utm_source=txtshare
  7. Maybe try the Lucaya Lake Club in Riverview, just south of Tampa. There's one Ski Nautique on the lake already. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/11829-Lake-Lucaya-Dr-Riverview-FL-33579/247192773_zpid/?utm_source=txtshare
  8. I hope we get to 67%+ vaccinated. But I believe the slowdown is more like at 50%. Perhaps the vaccinated gaining cruise and foreign countries access will convince more. The USA must be getting some herd immunity too. Let's see.
  9. Well, we're a year into this. Lots of vaccination progress in most places. And we have learned a lot about Covid-19. I hope to ski the same amount as last year, which was a record. Remote working and little travel helped then, and still now.
  10. I have the same issue on my ProStar. The recline lever no longer works. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
  11. @SkiBeKaus All my PBs have been on blue. So I’m pretty sure the top choice for waterskiing is blue. But then again, that’s all I’ve ever skied on. ?
  12. It must be blue. That's my first criteria. So that it matches everything else. :) I have a 2019 blue Vapor Pro Build. The Denali is in contention in the future. It's blue after all. But preferred is a future blue Pro Build, since I'm not up for learning a new ski. No rush though. At my skill level I'm the biggest variable and opportunity. Not the incremental gear improvement. And as I get older I've become more loyal to my go-to brands. Cars, tools, sports gear, etc.
  13. Lucky Lowe Ski School in Lakeland. Never been there though. Ski Fluid, Polk City. I believe the MasterCraft Pro tournament was held here. McCormick is excellent. That lake skis great. Hope this helps.
  14. I've seen old tires chained together doing something similar in Bavaria, Germany, near Ingolstadt, a few years back. The multi-layer tire chain was between a slalom course and a cable park. The objective was to keep the ski boat wakes out of the cable park. I believe the slalom course is now no longer in operation. www.wakeandgroove.de
  15. This is a super informative thread. I’m in between long and short line lengths and struggling to stabilize 35’ off. The insights shared here will help a lot. Thanks again.
  16. Water 52F. Nice and calm. Air 56F. First time skiing in Wisconsin this year.
  17. Go fund me initiative: Made in Asia bare bones, super gentle wake, smallish ski boat, based (copied) on our favorites of yesteryear, inline 6 cylinder, with target price point $25K. Parts and services not available. Buy direct on Alibaba. Shipping, customs, registration, etc by others. Prime objective: reduce the complaints of new ski boats being too expensive, unavailable, too big, too complex, too much sea deck, etc. By providing a new brand to complain about instead. Brand name TBD. Hahaha.
  18. @6balls Agreed on the used Porsche. I do similar...... the two door rear engine C4S version, at about half price of new at 3-4y old. CPO with low miles. I love the Panamera too though. Great car. Send a pic? Did the same with my ProStar. Bought the 2014 to 2020 hull with low hours and 3y old. That was in 2017 though. Major savings vs list price.
  19. Maybe the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) of sending new gear to Horton for demonstration should be followed here too. I'm starting to worry that no news is bad news in this case. Different that the typical no news means no problems.
  20. @swc5150 That ProStar not only looks great, it actually looks brand new. Wow! Beautiful. Agreed with the others.... we need a smaller version of the current ProStar. We don't all need the Audi A8. An A3 or A4 will often do just fine. An entry level ProStar, to get more into MasterCraft. For Malibu, that could be an Axis ski boat, built on the TXI hull prior the current version.
  21. Highly spoiled: McCormick in Tampa. Air 90, water 78.
  22. Maybe check Alibaba for a Chinese made ski boat. That could be a disrupter. We see some Chinese made taxis in America already. I'm pretty sure the price is right. The rest, quality and performance, if not ok yet, will sort itself soon. Their cars for the general public are coming too. I see them in other continents already. I too believe there's a place for a lower price disrupter ski boat. I'm not sure I'm right though, since someone would have already done it.
  23. The standard keeps going up. That's a fact of life at work..... greater productivity, higher quality, lower thoughput time, greater OTIF (on time in full), an even better value proposition, a lower cost price, a lower sell price, more revenue, more profit. And on and on. Even in healthcare, we hope for shorter wait times, a greater life expectancy, and lower prices. It's a fact of life..... the standards keep going up. Continuous improvement. In water skiing too. All good and right. Let's embrace it. It makes us all even better, since that's exactly what we all want too.... a higher buoy count.
