  1. I also have a ‘22 Senate Pro. I’m 6-2 and 220 on a 69 skiing 30-32 mph. After skiing on the factory recommended settings, the ski felt sluggish and pushed a lot of water out the front. I reset everything (bindings, fin, wing to 7 degrees) to the 2018 Senate Lithium settings I was on prior and the ski really came to life. Worth a shot.
  2. Moved across the country at the end of May and haven’t had many course passes this year. Amazing how easy it is to get rusty.
  3. @Justin if you can find one, the Eclipse LaPoint was an excellent ski tug. Only made for a few years, ‘00 - ‘03 or so IIRC. Don’t see them for sale very often. Good luck!
  4. There’s a 96 Prostar 190 with the LT1 for sale in Florida for $12K. It’s on the Mastercraft Prostar Owners group on Facebook.
  5. I like the HO Syndicate Legend’s. First pair lasted a season and a half for me. Comfortable, good grip, cool colors.
  6. I’m teaching my girlfriend to drive and what really helped her on the starts was when I told her to watch the mirror. As the driver, you should know when the line is tight and the status of your skier in the water. She said that it helped a lot, and the starts are much better than they were before and she’s more confident and consistent on the pull ups.
  7. So what about rear binding relative to the front binding? I went back and checked all the measurements on my setup. I realized that my rear T Factor was one hole farther back from butted up against my front Reflex plate. Now my toes are just touching the back of my hardshell. Right? Wrong? Personal preference?
  8. I’ve had the same experience with this ski. I asked @ColeGiacopuzzi about moving the boots forward, but he told me to use the factory settings. The boot placement was 31.5” until the 2022 model. The jury is still out on boot placement since I haven’t had hardly any course time this season and I’m only a 30/32 mph 15 off skier. When riding behind the boat, the ski seems to shove a lot of water out the front.
  9. @drewski what part of East Tennessee? There’s a public course on Norris Lake. I live near the lake (Im in Jacksboro) and I need a ski partner!
  10. Just upgraded from a 2018 Senate Lithium to a 2022 Senate Pro ?
  11. Fundamentals - Balanced on the ski, handle control, good posture.
  12. First of all, the podcast is top notch! For those of us that struggle with the fundamentals, maybe a more detailed plan of how to break those old bad habits and ingrain the right ones. How would you take a skier from arms out and squatty, to staying on edge to the 2nd wake to leveraged/wide/early? Layout the stepping stones to better skiing.
  13. @UWSkier which model Senate are you on? Looking to upgrade from a 2018 Lithium.
  14. I have a Hero 7 and you can zoom the camera manually using the touchscreen. I also use a Wakeye but not the app.
  15. @BrennanKMN that's also a great point, and I have been very forthcoming with any interested buyers and have answered all their questions honestly. Neglect is one issue, failure of an internal part is another. I bought a Chevy Tahoe last year with 150k miles. 2 months later I had to spend $4K because a valve lifter failed even though the CARFAX showed regular maintenance on the vehicle. I've only owned the boat 4 years and I think I put a lot of information in the ad of the repairs I have done since I've owned it and I have nothing to hide about the boat. It was even inspected by a Mastercraft dealer the week before the motor let go and they gave the boat a clean bill of health.
  16. @skihacker and I’d agree with that, but two other owners put 935 hours on it before I bought it. I found a few indicators of poor maintenance after the fact. I have taken excellent care if it since I bought it. Anything that wasn’t right has been repaired or replaced.
  17. @BrennanKMN like what kind of questions?
  18. @BoatyMcBoatFace I want to sell it. I had the boat sold in April and the engine let go on the test drive. Installed a new engine in June. So Cal is a tough market for a closed bow slalom boat.
  19. At my lake we ski behind 2 bubble butt Nautiques, my 96 Prostar 190, and a Tige FSLM Comp. The Nautiques track the best and the wakes are bubbly and soft. The Prostar seems to have a slightly smaller and still soft wake (if you have that ski on edge) but doesn’t track as well as the Nautiques. The Tige has a taller but still soft wake but tracking isn't as good as the Prostar or Nautique. Any chop we get from the wind (and it’s fairly minimal) is felt the most in the Tige. The Tige also has the sloped down nose like the Centurion so keep that in mind. If you’re not course skiing I’d go for the boat that’s been taken care of and maintained properly. No ski boat likes big water.

  21. Everyone knows that the most fun you can have driving the boat is pulling someone on a tube. Sweet boat, John!
  22. What a gorgeous boat! Classic.
  23. 2nd season course skier. Ended the season last year making a few 28mph @15 off passes. Now starting to regularly run 30 mph @ 15 off passes with a PB of 3 @ 32mph 15 off.
