  1. Skip’s covers are super nice. Though not breathable, they’re probably hurricane-proof. I have a Sunbrella cover from SkiBoatCovers.com that I use for dust and bugs under the hoist canopy and it lets the boat air out nicely, but it’s not nearly weather-proof as Skip’s.
  2. She gone, it's worn out. I replaced one at 1800 hours, same thing. Tried to find you a link to lever only, but all I'm seeing is the complete throttle/shift assembly.
  3. Yup, I did. I used a bandsaw but abrasive wheel would work too. Then flattened on a belt sander. I had to turn the holes into slots as the MC hole pattern is on a slightly bigger circle, but they're still clocked correctly. So, rather than use countersunk screws, I used flat base screws with washers to hold the Malibu tips to the OEM flanges. Hope that makes sense. If you have questions, my cell is two-four-eight 798-1958
  4. These are what I used. I'm not sure what standard 2014+ Prostar is/was. My 2015 came with rubber flappers. I think the malibu flanges above were just a tad smaller than what's in the boat. https://www.greatlakesskipper.com/malibu-boat-exhaust-tip-3221015-stainless-steel-3-1-2-inch
  5. It juuuuust hits the end of them when the platform is past vertical, but I still fold down for storage. Removing about 1/4" with a grinder would solve the problem completely.
  6. @epnault here’s a pic of the Malibu tips on a Prostar, just right over the existing stainless steel flange with some rubber in between. I had posted this a couple years ago above, but the pictures are gone. @RAWSki definitely quieter, but I suspect they rob some power too since they’re quite a bit more restrictive.
  7. I think the horn is up behind the front bow cushions. There's a little screen/grille on the outside of the hull that lets the sound out.
  8. ...that prop 🫣
  9. I agree with 97-09 196 and 91-94 Prostar. I am a Mastercraft fan but would choose the Nautique. Haven't skied a Carbon Pro but that Horton guy knows his stuff.
  10. If you want a new production engine, and if you want Zero Off, you need a (heavy and expensive) cat engine.
  11. Skied yesterday. Big warmup, 6 passes, then stretched twice last night. I have lifted heavy weights and done a ton of conditioning and mobility work since I stopped skiing in October. I hurt so badly this morning I could barely stand up. This is a wild sport.
  12. Not good news, but not unlike Ford no longer producing a sedan. You can get an SUV, truck, crossover, or Mustang. They went for higher priced, higher profit vehicles.
  13. I’ve used it daily for about 2 years now. My joints feel better than they have in a long time. My hair and nails definitely grow faster. I don’t know if the reduced joint pain is fully due to collagen, but I’m a believer enough to keep using it. It’s certainly a “trendy” thing right now. Two scoops in the morning coffee and I actually think coffee tastes better with it now. Vital Proteins from Costco, $20-ish/tub when on sale.
  14. Ugh, electrical. I was hoping/thinking maybe there’d be a way to help in more ways than just money.
  15. Like your comment above, when I was running a lot last year, my resting heart rate often got down into the high 30s or low 40s. I actually got a little worried but it sounds like it’s pretty common for runners. I saw 200+ momentarily a few times too but that was pushing Flowpoint conditioning, not running. Ditched the Garmin watch last spring because I found myself getting too caught up with calories even though they aren’t that accurate anyways, but they do provide a lot of interesting info, especially as a runner. I ran a half where all my splits were within 3 seconds of each other. Who would have known.. ha To get somewhat back on track to Hortons original question as to what’s best, I’ve heard Whoop is great from a number of reputable sources.
  16. I think I read or heard somewhere that Jamie Bull’s HR got to 190 by the end of a pass but I could be mistaken. It surprised me to hear seeing as she’s an all around athlete but it could be physical exertion, adrenaline, and nerves all pouring in at the same time.
  17. Ha, while waiting to pick up a waterski at oversize baggage claim at home in Detroit last week, the guy asked what I was looking for. No lie, this is about how it went: "a waterski in a case" "is that different than a snow ski?" "well.. yes.. one is used in a lake and one is used on a hill" "is the lake frozen?" "no, it's liquid. You do it behind a boat" After this I walked away and let a friend finish the conversation because I wasn't feeling especially people-y. Made for a good laugh.
  18. A couple years ago I would happily dedicate a “lazy Saturday” to streaming (and actually watching) a tournament at home especially early season like Swiss Pro just to get me excited about the upcoming ski season. Now it’s tough to watch an entire tournament (or even the finals) with 1 and 3 year olds running around, so I’ve resorted to listening at work the following week, peeking at my phone for the drama or hard passes as I hear them come through. I find it hard to go back and watch bits and pieces because even though the broadcast is broken up into segments on YouTube (prelims, men’s finals, women’s finals, etc) it’s hard to pinpoint the set you actually want to watch when it’s an 8 hour broadcast. Luckily, the real good stuff usually gets posted on Instagram. I don’t expect TWBC to really do any more than they already do, but a post tournament 30-minute highlight show would sure be cool. Regardless, TWBC does such a good job.. it’s hard to not want to watch. I’ve been to a couple pro tournaments live now, and whie it’s awesome to be right on the water, the coverage is so much better on YouTube 😂 I should add that TWBC has spoiled me/us I much, I find it hard to watch a broadcast by anyone else. Getting lots of skiers and coaches in the booth with Tony this past season was great as well.
  19. FlowPoint Method, problem solved. https://app.flowpointmethod.com/signup I truly feel it's worth the coin if you're disciplined enough to put in the work either at home or in the gym. Because of the price (about $135/month) I tried some other less expensive programming from other fitness professionals (in person and virtual) and while it wasn't horrible, it didn't compare to FPM. Lot of strength, conditioning, stretching, and mobility work.. and it's actually fun. I had never stepped foot in a gym before 2021 and now I can't do without.. I feel better and stronger all-around especially with skiing. Even if you weren't a skier, it would be a great program. Additionally you get 2x monthly group coaching calls, nutrition info, ski specific exercises, 2x monthly 1-on-1 coaching for gym work or skiing.. the list goes on. If you utilize it, it's a great value. Numbers don’t lie and I am basically twice as capable in the gym as I was three years ago. No missed skiing last year due to something hurting.
  20. I have designed and built a lot of proprietary equipment for my business that makes us efficient and profitable. I tend not to share all (any) of my secrets. I see no reason why the owners of a waterski company would/should chime in here.
  21. .... this makes me think I should mount up the RTP I bought last June and never used, and perhaps give the R-Style a break for a while.
  22. Yeah. Guess we threw out the 100 degree rule. We are going to check February off the list if possible this year.
