  1. Remember when Wayne Grimditch beat all the pro athletes from other sports in the super stars?
  2. Both. Joel Poland and Dorian Lewelyn are fun to watch. The worlds will feature some great 3-eventers this fall. The ladies too with Regina in the mix again.
  3. Wondering why USAWS is not more out front with information regarding these events.
  4. Walmart down here shows a little 6 X 6 pop up shade. They also have a 4 x 6.
  5. My 08 Ramlin single axle trailer had 6 in of adjustment on the bow bumper post. My 196 rode at the back set of holes. I believe the 206 hull's extra length was toward the bow. The forward set of holes may work, leaving the boat correctly set over the axle.
  6. My 47 ChrisCraft has the best gas guage ever. An original factory supplied 4 ft long measuring stick you put down the fill pipe. 75 years old and still works perfectly.
  7. @DW great pic of the old invisible V8 model. I built one in 1968.
  8. Sorry, I met him at Lake 38 and he said just call. So try the contact on the website and ask him to call you.
  9. You can call Scott at S Lines. He is very approachable and can answer your questions right on the spot. The new X line seems to be an improved version of R, just a hair softer hook up off the ball maybe. Got to ski it at Lake 38 last weekend. Felt great. One thing to consider if you ski tournaments is what ropes are currently being used in your area tournaments. That may affect your choice of what you choose to practice with.
  10. Nate has no incentive to break his own record. Until somebody else breaks it (or gets too comfortably close), or a sponsor pays him to do it. Whitney is close to Regina these days and may set a new record soon, but only behind her boat sponsor. But, Regina will have to wait to be behind a Malibu to answer. Laser cruise control will kill off the rest of us who are barely hanging on since ZO was implemented.
  11. Won't be cleared to ski yet. I can come judge. It's great you are still doing these tournaments. We especially need them here in Florida. Hope you have one this fall too, and I'll be there.
  12. Thank you for encouraging your son to learn to judge all 3 events. Fast tracking for slalom and jump is pretty easy. Tricks takes time, dedication, and practice to develop the skills. We need new blood here. I've seen trick judges holed up for 8 hrs at a time calling tricks from video. They could use a break. If you are going with him, maybe you both could learn how run the computer video timing and calling system. , (if you are a techie). Just being a secretary is helpful too.
  13. Ams- we ski 2 rounds Friday at 8:30 am. Pros- 2 rounds Saturday. Ams- 3rd round Sunday, 8am. Pro finals Sunday head to head format approximately 11 am. No food trucks or concessions. Live scoring on USAWS, Pros also on IWWF (see @Cam above) Running orders posted on site.
  14. Which one is like the Master Line black? And, which one is most like the Syndicate?

    Masters

Still much better than last year. No Dano on 3 EVENT means somebody is reading BOS. Hope they keep reading. I get that the guys are doing both the webcast and on site announcing, but a little less over the top wowing, and more analysis. More skier profiles and backgrounds, agree they need some interviews. Again, much better job this year.
  16. Fear is a very real factor, at 68 I fight the fear of going out the front. Confidence is also very real for me. Some days I have it, some days I'm lacking. But, that's all part of the challenge. The battle is still fun. One of my favorite movie lines: "Of course it's hard. If it was easy, everybody would be doing it. It's the hard that makes it great."
  17. And your butt should never be behind your shoulders.
  18. @Broussard had it right. Piigozzi did win his spot with 4@41. The 5 mentioned above all got 3@41. Here's how it played out. In the 1st runoff, Nevue went down at 39, Travers won a spot with 3@41. The other 3 tied at 2@41. In the 2nd runoff, Ross was eliminated with 2@41, Descuns and Sedlmajer got in with 3@41.
  19. 06s can be changed to ZO . It is the first year for drive by wire. You would need a new ECM and probably a new pentiometer in addition to the ZO system, all reflashed to work together. This particular boat has another thing going for it. It has the standard analog guage system. (The optional gateway guage system will fail and will require conversion to analog, a $1000 expense you would not have to deal with). One sweet slalom boat when you get done with it.
  20. I flew a lot before retiring during Covid. Back then golf clubs went free. I just put Titleist stickers on my sport tube.
  21. Driving on the highway, see a lake along side and start counting seconds to see if it's long enough. Have done that so many times.
  22. Compared to the rest of the world, water skiing here is still a recreational sport (though not as large as it used to be), where middle class folks can go enjoy a great day out on the water. The rest of the world has mostly elite ski clubs owned by the 1 percenters who own 90% of the wealth. Their water skiing has gravitated toward the Olympic model of developing high end skiers. They have no middle class or poor class skiers ripping it up on vast public lakes like we have. Unfortunately our own sport organization (USAWS) are following the same path, and not doing a very good job of it at at that. Just from all the folks who post here on BOS, skiing is alive and improving again. Example: I recently had a conversation with a top foreign skier who had never experienced ripping up glass smooth water on an early morning sunrise run. Sad, she was brought in at a young age just to become her country's team skier. Sad, she never has appreciated what we see in skiing.
  23. Your alternator for that PCM 5.7 Chevy is a 100 amp high output unit, almost $300 for a new one. As skihacker mentioned, find a local rebuilder. Might not need to be rebuilt. Most common problem is a bad diode. The rebuilder should be able to fix it for 50 or 60 bucks. I had the exact problem on my 2006 196.
  24. Can anybody there tell how close they are to the dock in their Rideout? Sure looks close on the breadcast.
