  1. From the lake last week. Several skis represented. One common denominator. Some pretty good skiers ripping it up on the Wileys!
  2. @Deanoski where are you getting the 85 degree water? I’m on my way!
  3. Tiger King and a quarrantini make for a good evening. My daughters are home with college postponed. Fun for the whole dysfunctional family!
  4. What did they legalize in Cali now? Only redeeming quality is the cover of The Tubes album from the 80's
  5. I think most people are honest and would report accordingly. You will always have posers and sandbaggers, but as general rule it works. They have their reckoning on tournament days. This is not for high end tournaments. Maybe for a tournament within a tournament. Rather than all the old guys skiing together, then kids together, then young guns, you set up divisions by handicap and create some fun competition. If nothing else it can help with seeding in the head to head events at local tournaments. As an added bonus you may not have all the drivers/judges in the same divisions. Maybe it has nothing to do with tournaments at all, just a fun way to measure yourself and stoke some friendly competition. Maybe a separate handicap list from the ranking list so you can still see your name in lights, with no impact on rankings.
  6. @JeffSurdej here is the link. https://www.usga.org/handicapping/roh/2020-rules-of-handicapping.html Basically it works like our rating system. I believe it takes the last 20 reported scores and averages the top 3 or something similar. It is dynamic as only the last 20 scores count. The system factors in slope and rating, a way to measure the difficulty of a course, not necessary for our purposes. This establishes a baseline to par. It is hard to play to ones handicap. Lets say I was a 10 handicap - I'd have to shoot an 82 on a par 72 course to shoot my handicap. Much like its hard to ski to your ranking score. If I am a 10 handicap and I'm playing someone with a 6, at the end of the round I would subtract 4 strokes from my score and compare to my partner to determine the winner. Same could apply to skiing. If I am a 2@39 and I'm skiing at my site against someone who is a 2@38 I would have to spot her 6 balls. We self judge, make some friendly wager, and whamo, a competition addiction has begun!
  7. Eddie. I miss my ski partner more and more.
  8. Probably brought up before, but why not do just like golf? Create a handicap through the governing body by reporting practice "tournament sets". No need for costly and time consuming video submission or review. This gets people to sign up for AWSA at one level or another - need to be a member to establish a handicap. It also fires up the competitive spirit, inspires improvement - anything measured will be focused on, and would, in my opinion, lead to more tournament participation. Handicap should not be related to ranking lists.
  9. Amazing events! If you are on the fence just go. You won't be sorry.
  10. @BCM by far the best announcing of any sporting event ever! I see your Danny Hart and raise you an Aaron Gwinn with one of my favorite and most amazing race runs ever!
  11. @BCM +1 for Danny. One of the most amazing athletes to watch.
  12. may not be as simple as you want, but a classic.
  13. Is determined to bang your head against the wall over and over the same thing as mental toughness? @Skiwoodgate I am hoping this survey will give you info to fix our mental weakness......
  14. Congrats! Great looking Senate and enjoy the addiction!
  15. @RichardDoane you putting zero off in that thing? Lets go ski it!
  16. Both awesome. Snow better in the cold, water better in the warm.
  17. I've suffered with this for the past several years - getting slightly worse year after year. I played with different diameter and radius handles with slight relief each time I changed. Last year I ended up with the Radar 1.10 anti roll handle and have not had any problem since. Not sure it is just the handle, although nothing else has changed.
  18. Sequence plate is awesome. Easy to adjust and move from ski to ski if you switch around skis. Measure from the upper threads( furthest away from plate). I measured 15 inches and marked with tape behind back boot. Now I can measure accurately without removing the back boot.
  19. Looks like last years Radar boat if I'm not mistaken. Colors are cool in person. Photos don't do it justice. It skis and drives well.
  20. They are pretty awesome. I was worried that the palm would bunch without some adjustment on the back of the hand, but it was a non issue. I too loved the Vapors, but these are moving forward.
