  1. If she knew how much fun the group of tournament skiers are up here, she would probably take the job!
  2. I will check with the guys at Peck's. If they are accepting new members, it would be an outstanding place for her!
  3. Nice job by Ellie! Roger loved those kids, and really enjoyed his days with the team.
  4. The write up from FSC was excellent! His obituary just came out: http://www.oakridgefuneralcare.com/obituaries/Roger-Skalko/#!/Obituary
  5. @Web "hacker" = thru 28, "wanna-be"; 32 & 35. Cuz they wanna be running 38. @skihacker is no hacker!
  6. @skihacker... I'm thinking we might know each other? I am confused tho, there are only 2 or 3 active skiers in the "hacker" class near Rochester.
  7. I really like the location of the 3rd picture... That's exactly where I will be around 2pm Sunday!
  8. Glad yours is sold! Anyone still want a CoX SL at a good price? It's a little goofed up, priced accordingly. Read the description: http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=25666 Thanks for looking!
  9. What @davemac said! Recently ordered a Camaro Black Tec from Robby. Great communication and lightning fast shipping!

Years ago at Spencer's training camp in NYS, there was a Swan that earned the name Rambo. He patrolled the upper end of the lake and would attack skiers or even go after the boat! There are countless (legendary) stories of encounters with Rambo. Here is a sample of his work:
  11. Nice looking prototype! I believe 2.25" is enough room. I think that's about what my TW Handle Guard is.
  12. I must admit up front, I am no good at this.... Focus on the task at hand. Try to forget you are at a tournament. You are there to ski as many buoys as possible. One buoy at a time.
  13. @Jordan, I thought the the same thing. Just scroll back up to the top and you should see something like this:
  14. I checked the wrong box prematurely...Even though my average is up, I did hit a practice PB of 2@35 (34mph). My tourny PB of 1@35 was set 2 years ago on a questionable course on just my 3rd time through 32 ever. Tourney average is up overall this year, and practice scores are deep 32. As an open water skier that only skis the course 1 or 2 times a week, I can live with that. (even though I want more!)
  15. I think she should find a place to ski first.... Lots to choose from in Polk County!
  16. If I'm not mistaken she will be the only person that works in that building that actually skis?
  17. There are 3 private lakes within a 75 minute drive from my house, so I try to ski those 2 or 3 weeknights. Weekends are spent on big public water. If the wind isn't blowing I can get an open water set before 9am there. One year I kept track of my driving miles, from Father's day to the weekend after Labor day I drove 7500 miles... I did a lot of skiing that summer!
  18. 4th place was also claimed by a northern clim skier. Jessie Dobbertin is from western NY. However she is also a collegiate skier, who spends 9 months a year training with the Florida Southern College ski team.
  19. another vote for Pro Gear! Everything @Chuck_Dickey said, and the best grip ever... Sticky
  20. Life in upstate (western) New York....
