  1. Nice shot @Web hardly qualifies as “bad weather”!
  2. Skied (open water) on the 8th and 9th in central NY. Air and water about 58. Camaro Blacktec.
  3. @Kellyn Spencer’s in Owego is a top notch man made ski lake. There are 2 gents there, that are actively looking for skiers/drivers. Hook up with them and you have hit the motherload!
  4. Not to hijack here, but @ALPJr; I bought a VTR from Dave S! Loved that ski. Took me from slow 15’s all the way through -28(34mph). Probably didn’t hurt that I was skiing with Dave 2 or 3 times a week then either. Bought a Phantom from Dave also.
  5. No regular site to ski at... used to get course skiing about 65% of the time , now mostly open water. Try to ski tournaments 4-6 times a summer just to ski buoys!
  6. random thoughts on survey... Q26 about attending an in person testing event? interesting! questions about current ski and future ski... I have been very fortunate in that my last 2 skis (Syndicate A2, and Mapple T2), were given to me. Future ski? I'm thinking I would like to take a trip to Trophy and see what Mr Caldwell might suggest!
  7. I have been watching for one of these also. They don't seem to come up often, and when they do, they tend to have towers and other options, I don't want to pay for.
  8. @Keukaskier Orlando area, in March? Think of our summer type weather here on Keuka!
  9. to glom on a bit to what @Horton was saying... most of my course skiing is done behind an older 196, PP, no z-box. Even though I always want more, I'm generally happy any time I get beyond 2 ball at 32off. Most often my tournament scores are within a buoy or 2, of what I do in practice. Often times I'll ski better at a tournament than I did during the week skiing behind PP.
  10. Excellent results for your fundraiser! I saw all the pictures on FB last night, looks like everyone had fun. How did the snow ski part of the event go?
  11. https://www.keukawatersports.com/learn-more-about-our-rentals--boats-rental Their online booking seems to be unlcear about availability, however a phone call might be worth the effort
  12. You might try Keuka Watersports at the south end of Keuka lake (2 lakes west of Cayuga).
  13. My disclaimer: I've only snow-skied in the northeast, mostly on the molehills in central NY and I'm a hacker water skier (rarely run 32). Anyway, years ago a water/snow ski friend of mine and I quite often would try to figure out; what's better, water or snow? One day, riding a chairlift, we were talking about how we couldn't wait to get our boats out and start waterskiing. It was then it dawned on us, never had we been sitting in a boat looking forward to hitting the slopes. Our debate was over!
  14. Are Miami Nautique gloves similar to Pro Gear gloves? I've been using PG for years and love 'em.
  15. Florida Southern College. MC Prostar and lake right on campus. Can't beat the weather!
  16. Excellent stuff! Picture is from March '98. It was 80 degrees this day!
  17. @Booze If you have a chance to ski at Cow Lake with the Lida Falls crew, you'll be begging for the transfer!
  18. Bareback along the NY/PA border Oct 11. Very nice after a lousy summer.
  19. Hi gilski. I had a cath and stents put in back in 2011. I didn't even know I had a problem except for the times I was skiing in the course and would feel some tightness in my chest. Doctor visit lead to stress test, that lead to a heart cath. When they did the cath they found I was 95% blocked! At that point they inserted 3 stents. This all happened just 3 weeks prior to my annual Thanksgiving week ski trip to FL. I discussed my desire to ski with the heart doc and even showed him some video of me skiing... "I don't see a problem with that" was his exact response. 20 days after my cath/stent procedure I hit the water in Florida with no troubles at all! Hope that helps!
