  1. @Rednucleus I did my initial testing on the Senate Pro in 2022 flipping the cants in every combination I could think of before finally arriving at 1/4" canting on the instep side of each plate near the end of the season. This was 180 degrees from where my logic thought it would be. My consistency improved but my score by only a bouy or two. I have not been on the SP since and I have not ridden the LP1 without the canting. I am convinced I have found my combo. Boot pressure is now even on both sides of the boot cuff. Not sure if my performance on the SP will tell you much except that there was less( Bow leg) kick out with the cant applied. Really two very different skis
  2. @aupatkingYes, a full pass. I had been stuck at 2-3 @-35 for years. I now seem to be stuck at 2-3 @ -38. Can't say canting was the only factor as I did change from a 19 Senate Pro to an LP1 this spring but I feel the canting was the most influential. To accomplish the cant I traced the boot bottom outline on paper then cut out the pattern and spray painted over the pattern on 1/4" thick HDPE. After cutting out the pattern on a band saw I sanded the bottom on a belt sanding table until the angle I wanted was accomplished. basically 1/4" on one side to zero on the other side full length.
  3. I added 1/4 " cant below each Vapor boot and picked up a full pass this season. Seemed to make my offside turns much more consistent.
  4. Hope that pet has a collar or is chipped in case it runs off!
  5. I'm sure technology has improved considerably especially since carbon fiber introduction. Am sure bevel tech has changed a lot but trick skis now are sure wider and lighter than before. Maybe just an interesting side note but Saucier used standard inserts front and rear back in the 70's.
  6. 5000 passes equals approximately 833 sets (6 passes/set) at say a really quick 10 minutes per set equals 8330 minutes so 138.88 hours. Wow, that's one really busy ski season!
  7. Not sure about the Carbon Sequence Plate but the original metal Sequence plate came with a set of special washers that the plate floated on allowing plate flex movement. I assume the Carbon plate does also. Anyone confirm this?
  8. Lots of vids on You Tube on how to string a handle. Get your rope from Lake Elmo Sports, Masterline, etc. and spend a little time learning how to do it. Something to do over the slow months. It's not rocket science!
  9. Damnit, just leave those skis alone!
  10. I owned a 93 Hydrodyne Comp. Wakes at -28 and shorter were small, soft, with a trough. Grand Sport I skied behind occasionally was excellent also. My wife loved driving the Hydrodyne! I believe all inboard Hydrodynes used the same hull at least until purchased by Calabria.
  11. Hold my beer....... and yet Jeff Rodgers put up some pretty damn impressive scores a few years back on an unknown very OLD ski!
  12. Sweet! I had those slippers on my early LaPoint ski.
  13. Whatever the origin, it looks like a football parka to me but is a great idea!
  14. Not to mention if a battery cell goes bad. Oops, we don't fix individual cells. Fork over 23K please.....
  15. @Horton After you break out the flannels might as well have a Bud Light too! 😂
  16. Another option is to take the sticker off the boat. There should be an outline etched from the sun on the fiberglass. Mask it off and paint it. I helped a buddy do this to his Nautique many years ago. I think we did about 5 layers of paint, let it dry, cleaned up the outline and rubbed it out after the paint had cured. Looked good for many years after!
  17. A vinyl sign company should be able to make you one if you have at least one on the boat. I had a 93 Hydrodyne Comp that I had them reproduce. They took a photo, loaded it to their computer, adjusted it to the correct size, cleaned up the edges, then printed it . It was perfect and ready for me to stick on the boat.
  18. I am planning one last set today here in MN then pulling the boat and winterizing before a cold front that arrives tonight.
