  1. Will has many more wins on his A-1 than Parrish has on his Goode and Karina technique looks like she can ski great on anything. Didn't Parrish try HO and ski like crap? Didn't we see him on a Sixam painted to look like a Monza? Don't get me wrong, CP is an awesome skier, but Will has more wins.
  2. Mine show the inverted pic's. They did it because the photo lay better with the paraghaph layout. One boat points left, the other right. Funny though, if they swapped the non mirrored pictures they'd have accomplished the desired layout results.
  3. Check out You Tube for waterski vis's, lots to tide you over. Go Pro usere abound!
  4. If it's not a hard sided bag, they will not pay for damage or breakage. I have used the sport tube for years and never had an issue. Keep the weight at or under 50 lbs. Southwest does not charge for oversized bags used for skiequipment like others do. http://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/baggage/special-luggage-pol.html#baggage_special_luggage_pol_tab_list_tab_12 Snow or water skis are accepted when enclosed in a suitable container. Southwest Airlines provides free plastic bags for ski equipment. These bags are used to prevent the various components of ski equipment from becoming separated. The skis will be conditionally accepted unless they are being transported in a hard, plastic case or standard ski bag. Snow ski equipment consists of one pair each of skis, ski poles, and boots. Water-ski equipment includes one pair of skis and one life preserver or vest. Snowboard equipment includes one snowboard and one pair of boots. When substituting ski equipment for a free bag, Southwest Airlines allows up to two bags (containing one set of snow skis, ski poles, and ski boots) to count as one item, even if they are packed and tagged separately. (Overweight charges may still apply.)
  5. You need the log book and the receipts in case of an audit. If your club has to log their practice runs, that will support your deduction as well. Some club lakes that have tanks buy Ag gas, same as the farmers use. It has a dye in it that the CHP will fine you dearly for if they check and find it in a car, but since they only use it to fill their boats it saves all the tax hassle.
  6. As far as the cost of gas for skiing is concerned. Since we use our boats on lakes and rivers and not on the highways and byways, then you can deduct a big chunk of the tax included in the price of gas when filing your taxes. Takes a bit of accounting (log book to note dates and amounts) but can take some of the hurt out of it.
  7. $400 is crazy! I'll stick with Aquasphere for half that price.
  8. The site address listed for Sunset Ski Ranch Oasis is wrong. our lake is 1/4 mile north, there are two lakes that are East/West orientation. http://maps.google.com/maps?t=h&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=33.541824,-116.07502&spn=0.015434,0.027595&z=16
  9. John,  When will the vests already ordered arrive? I'm in no rush for it, just curious.
  10. The twin prop picture is a real boat. I snagged that pic from a group of pictures which also showed the inside of the boat, motor and the transmission. It is the work horse for show sking in the upper midwest somewhere. If you had a boat that the skier could not slow down, then it should never gas the skier either. Sounds great to me! Inconsistant speed and tracking is what's keeping us out of the olympics. A boat like this with laser guided steering could get us there. If we ever get in the olympics, another way I would picture it, NO BOAT, just a pylon would be attached to a rail system under water and just stick out of the water like the periscope of a sub. The power source could be a cable like a chair lift so the speed and track would be exact. The periscope could have a base at the water level with a shape that makes a wake comparable to a boat, so skiers could still train normally. Nice daydreaming idea?
  11. I have an Aquasphere Skin 50 and love it. Some of our club members say the new Aquasphere "Winter "Skins are not as warm. My suit is 3 years old and showing some wear so I tried to but a Camaro on line and have had very poor luck finding any. I even emailed their USA rep, only to be referred to resallers that do not stock them. If any one know's where I can buy one, please post the contact info.
  12. Here's the twin prop job BB was mentioning. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_4-6ay9R-bLE/TS_dtlyQzpI/AAAAAAAAFAc/sHIJd8mNAfM/s800/twinscrewMC.jpg
  13. School Name:Â Bennett's Waterski and Wakeboard School Country: USA State: LA Contact: http://www.skibennetts.com/ School Name:Â Terry Winter @ Sunset Ski Ranch Country: USA State: CA Contact: http://www.skisunsetranch.com/
  14. The older version of the Aquaskins 50 worked really well. When the water is cold but the sun is out, they work really well. This is a grey and black model with blue accents. The newer model is a material change and our club members say they are not as warm. This is a red accented model. I have the older version and just bought an O'Neill Assualt hybred dry suit, best I've ever tried. Slim Neo lower and baggy nylon upper. Darrin at Wiley's has stock and a great price.
  15. Ok, order should have just gone through Paypal. Let me know if you don't see it soon.
  16. Wake forming and shape has a lot to do with lake depth. Our slalom lake is 5 feet deep and even the big boats don't get great wake shape. Give them all trick skis and they like it more than wakeboarding! Then your SN196 or my 2003 PS-197 with built in ballast system will be ideal! Did I mention I have a boat for sale?
