  1. Does that heater create enough heat to protect the exhaust risers as well?
  2. Sounds good, I put my boat away wet, that would be useful. Thanks.
  3. Just a follow up, the shop light in the engine box seemed to work. (Thanks Tuney) The temperature up there hit -9c one night and all was well. My buddies paddleboat was filled with pretty thick ice so it was definitely a risky situation to have done nothing. This coming week's forecast is to be warm day and night and I was tempted to leave the boat in but I'm more comfortable knowing it's in the garage. Thanks again for the advice.
  4. A long time ago I left my boat in our heated garage. I went to Florida for a couple of weeks and came home to find out about an ice storm, power failure, and cracked block. Granted at this time of the year it's not an issue, we now always winterize the boat regardless of where we leave it. I'm on my way to the cottage now to pull out the course and the boat. We winterize it but typically we'll still put it in for the day right up until December. It's a hassle, but safe.
  5. The boat's in the water which is probably better than on a lift. I think the bulb should be fine for two nights. Thanks.
  6. I think I'll be chipping ice off the balls before I ski this week-end.
  7. Hey Boody, When you drain those plugs, do you also drain any hoses, like the one connected to the impeller?
  8. Thanks for the advice, the shop light sounds like a good idea and it's something I can get someone else to do as the boat is an hour away from here. I'm pulling the boat out this week-end and will drain and winterize it then. The weather just turned unexpectedly cold and caught me off-guard. Yeah André, that's the Louisa boat. It gets a lot colder there even though it's only an hour away. The "new to us" Nautique will be kept in the city, so you can come and ski with us next year. Sorry I didn't make it out to you this year, work is stupid.
  9. The next couple of days will see overnight temperatures as low as 15 degrees fahrenheit, the lake temperature is high forties. How cold is too cold to leave my boat in the water? In the past, I've left it in when the temperature has dropped to 25 overnight with no problems. Anyone have experience with colder temps?
  10. Thanks John, This is perfect timing as I'm leaving on a Destroyer, headed for England tomorrow with no communications with the outside world for 10 days. I should have it memorized before I get back.
  11. Hmmmm, I notice Brent hasn't piped in here yet.
  12. I only had the opportunity to ski one set on it, so no time for tweaking. I'm looking forward to Scoke's review.
  13. I skied on the Elite and an A1 back to back the other day. I found it difficult to keep the tip down on the Elite and it didn't want to turn. It was however really fast cross-course. I found the A1 to be a much better turning ski.
  14. I agree with Jim. Take depth away 3 thou at a time. keep the length the same and see how it goes.
  15. Just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't posted a video yet as the water is still only 58 degrees here, the air isn't much better. If I posted a video of how I'm skiing right now, Seth would tell me to quit skiing and take up knitting. Hopefully next week will be warmer.
  16. Best Goode thread ever!
  17. For that kinda money, I'm definitely trying before buying. ( And I've already got a Parrish autographed ski.)
  18. Since Zero Off seems to be here to stay, why don't we get the ski manufacturers to adapt the skis we use. It's easy, all we have to do is impregnate a chip and a structural flex control module into all new skis and then program them to flex differently for the ABC-123 modes. The whole thing could be solar powered. Then maybe we can add WIFI to the ski so it can communicate directly to a satellite which can beam information back to the boat to keep the ZO and ski in sync. No user input necessary. Simple Simon.
  19. Somebody needs to change Scoke's picture to Yoda.
  20. I'm getting a headache.... My boat (87 MC) has PP classic, the other boat I train behind (06 CC) does also, I have no problem switching between the two. The first time I skied ZO was in a tournament, total disaster. I skied PP stargazer for the first time 2 weeks ago and it was better but less than satisfactory. In a pretty strong headwind, the boat raced through the second segment. You could hear the boat accelerate to make up time. I haven't even begun to learn my ABC's and 123's and now I'm hearing that I have to add Mastercraft, Malibu, and Nautique as independant variables???? I'm not particularly fond of wasting our short season to do what was easy and straight-forward before.
  21. I can't believe that this video has been up for almost a day now and that nobody's taken a cheap shot at Brent!
