  1. I have a 63.5" HO Revolt for sale. Asking $200. The ski has a Wiley Jr. High Wrap with rtp. This binding fit my daughter from shoe size 12 to 5.5. Ski is in excellent condition. Holes were drilled to accommodate the binding. If interested, email me at jgoss7@nc.rr.com for some pics.  Thanks,  John Goss
  2. Need I remind everyone that basically Radar has started this trend with the Senate-C. IMHO, ski design is now going in the right direction. I ski both the Senate and the Theory. While the Theory is a bit soft, if you ski it without loading the line you can run 38 off and better. However, you cannot load it. It will surely buckle you. Senate-C is an awesome ski. These other manufacturers have tweaked what the Radar Senate has started. I believe there will be some broken records this summer with these wider surface area skis.
  3. Guys, I know the Senate C is lighter and rebounds quicker due to the carbon layoff but is the Senate C a thinner ski vs. the regular Senate? I have not put my hands on either. No ski shops close to me. It appears that the Senate C has a thicker sidewall in pics. Thanks!
  4. Fellas, I understand that the wide ride rule in the INT league dictates that the ski be 7.25" wide at a point on the ski 1 inch from the front of where the manufacturer places the front binding. Now the 67" inch Radar Theory is 7.28" wide at the point 40.27 inches from the tail. My question is: Is this ski legal for the INT Wide Ride? Thanks for any assistance.
  5. Ed, How are you coming along with your Radar Theory? Are you able to ski on it at speeds other than 30 mph? What length ski did you end up with? Thanks Ed.
  6. So, from everyone's perspective, which of the high end skis have the best cast out to the buoy? I really tend to appreciate skis that I can ski wide and early on the buoys. I am betting on the Sixam 2. Or maybe the Senate C. What's the take on this?
  7. So, part of this message is to grow the sport. Well, I am a former Open division skier trying to get into Panther Lake Ski Club in North Carolina and there are no open memberships available. Many years back, I did my part getting people into the sport. Now, I try to get in a club to ski and they are all closed to more members. And yet, these guys want to grow the sport? I understand Freddy bought the Sanford Lake in Sanford, North Carolina. This would be a great way to grow the sport. Get some members in the ski club at Sanford. How much would it cost me to ski over there?
  8. Ed, Thanks for your thoughts. As I no longer ski tournaments, I am going to experiment with slalom course length. I have several accufloats so it is no lost to shorten some sections and play around with it. So, for the most part, I am no longer under the pressure of skiing to AWSA specs. I forgot to mention that my daughter skis also. She was 9 last year and could get into 32 off on regulation course and believe me the gas bill was hitting me hard in the wallet. She has no desire to ski competition, she just likes skiing with her Dad. So, we are probably going to play with the lengths and keep the speeds at 30 mph. Just our own little league. No pressure and nothing but good times and fun. John
  9. I know when you guys read what I have to say, you going to think I am plain nuts. With the price of gas going up, we all probably can conclude it will never go down. All other costs are going up as well. I got to thinking of ways to keep enjoying skiing and saving on gas consumption and costs. I was reading the section on INT 30 mph Wide Ride and figured it would have to be way cheaper than running 34 mph all the time. Probably, still just as challenging as well, let alone, a wide ride ski is much cheaper than a top of the line ski. This summer will be the first time trying it. I have skied in Open Men's many many years ago, and I am curious to see if I can really "shorten" the rope at this speed. If for some reason I find that it is not as challenging as say running at 34 mph, I thought maybe I could shorten each section of the slalom course about 10 feet coming up with a course 60 feet shorter. Now I know I will have to figure out the 30 mph times for 60 feet shorter. What are you guy's thoughts on this crazy idea? John Goss
  10. What is the AM Senate? Is this a new ski that was tested?
  11. I believe you want to get your binding as close as possible to the center of the sweet spot. You would have to take your bindings and fin off and lay the ski on a perfectly level table, sort of like an engineer's table. Then you would slide a piece of paper from the front and one from the tail until you hit the spots where the ski actually touches the table. The distance from the pieces of paper will be your flat spot. Now, here is where it gets tricky. If you are a technically sound and neutral skier, placing your binding over this spot will work well. If you are not a technically sound skier, you will have to move your bindings forward or backwards depending on how you ski. If anyone has a more sound theory or a better one please advise. It's sort of like a rocking chair, you want to be centered right over the middle of the sweet spot which is going to be where the chair doesn't rock. Just my two cents.
  12. I just had to come on this board and say the F-1 absolutely rocks.I had my mind set on a Radar, but just couldn't get my hands on one. I live in NC and no one sells them here. Overton's just down the road from me, let me try a 70" F1 and I just couldn't believe how well the ski rides. Skis very early and wide. Tremendous angle. I am surprised there aren't more skiers on this ski. Needless, to say I purchased the ski. Fin is stock from the factory and my HO bindings are attached with the 400 velcro. Ski carves really well. 13. For sale: 59" KD 7000 slalom blank. Ski is drilled for a Wiley's Jr.1 highwrap binding with rtp. Ski is in great shape. E-mail me at jgoss7@nc.rr.com for pics if interested. Ski goes for $75 plus shipping and handling. Thanks.
  14. I am running an old JOBE Open Class HPT 67" with the front binding set at 30 3/8 ths from the the tail. Ski rocks. Sking wide and early. Fixed fin no adjustability. Fin has stop sign shaped holes in it. Bought the ski on ebay for like 10 dollars. I have an HO Phantom binding with rear toe. Thought ya'll would get a kick out of this highly technical ski. But, the truth is, it works for me real well in the course at 34 mph. I think the reason it works so well is because I weigh 225 lbs. and the ski has more surface area than all the new high end skis. Now if I weighed 180lbs. I probably should be on a ski like the rest of you guys are riding. Here's to skiing.
