  1. Maybe it's a Strada fin box and fin. :)
  2. I would have to pay additional money for a new one since it was a demo. The dealer has to make money. They are not going to take a hit, and I can understand that. But, I feel the factory could make it right. I don't expect anything else more from the dealer and I do not have a problem with them, but I will never buy another HO ski period. I refuse to believe the HO factory cannot swap the ski out without losing money. On the other hand, many skiers have noted that the skier has changed skis and have asked why. Now that's where HO is losing money and potential sales.
  3. I guess I will be a victim of you bought it, it's yours. It will be my last HO.
  4. I noticed several skiers had issues with the fin gap. Probably not a problem. But, the ski I have, an A2, the inserts are really crooked and do not line up. I am told by the factory that they do not deal directly with the consumer, that any issue would have to be taken up with the dealer from whom the ski was purchased. I was always told that the HO factory had outstanding customer service. Apparently, something has changed.
  5. Anybody get any skis from Goodedealz? I was leaning on getting maybe a Strada55 for me and a Strada for the daughter, then found about Goodedealz. I can get some really high performance skis for the money with the 9800. It's a no brainer right? Only $590 for a 9800 vs. $750 for a Strada55 and $1300 for a Strada?
  6. Can someone in the know explain to me why in the Goode Tech Manual, the depth of fin and length of fin measurement are .030 difference between the slot and dial calipers. This makes no sense to me, although I have only the electronic caliper and not the dial. Also, in their pics they do not use the tips of the caliper to measure length but lay the straight edge in the side of the fin. This makes sense to me but the plastic square housing for the electronic display sticks out not allowing for an accurate measurement. When you close the jaws, the tips are together, reset to zero, so it seems to me that you should measure by using tips.
  7. What I heard about Regina was second hand info. Should not have repeated. As the mom would say, rumors come from the Devil's radio. :) I have had my daughter try a Strada, and an A2 that I am stuck with. She was on a Goode 9500 and is back on another Goode, the 9800. Both skis are drilled with no problems. She skis much better and more consistent on a Goode, but her average goes down tremendously with ZO. She gets actual times in practice with Stargazer, however, ZO is the way to go if you are going to ski tourneys.
  8. I've been trying to sell a 65.5" A2 on ski-it-again for 3 weeks with no luck. Going to put it on ebay, maybe have better luck there.
  9. I've seen 9900's and 9800's drilled with no breakage for at least two seasons. My daughter is ready a Makai with her plates screwed down. But, she only weighs 135lbs. and get into 32 off about 33% of the time. I am thinking though that the ski may break down. When it does I will let you guys know. I've been told that Regina has to change skis every six weeks due to flex breaking down.
  10. I received my G10 plate from TeamMalibu and was very impressed with the quality.
  11. anyone know the thickness on these plates?
  12. After watching the MB and Bob Lapoint video about testing skis with Lapoint saying there isn't a perfect ski, the first thing to come to mind was $1300 for a Strada and close to $2000 for a Nano. And, they are not the perfect ski? How much is the perfect ski going to cost us? :)
  13. Anyone still skiing on these things?
  14. Bruce 55 who is the HO rep, I also have this issue as well.
  15. We have an A2 as well. The fin on this ski has a gap on one side as well. Like Bruce, when you are skiing well the ski works well. When you are not, it is not forgiving. Another issue on this ski is the inserts are not straight but crooked. Other than that, the ski carries speed in the turn well. Consistency is the issue now.
  16. If they lose the appeal I could see open bows not being built any more which to me would be a good thing. I never could understand putting people in front of the boat driver obstructing his/her view somewhat. Maybe we need open bows atop the motor on cars. :)
  17. Scott was on an old X5 with the blue and white top.
  18. Most all of the skiers were on the new A2. PB's were achieved by alot of the skiers on the A2. Nate, Corey, and another skier were on the new X7. I really like the way the X7's look. But, I believe Nate could run 41 on a 68" 2x6 piece of lumber. Clay Neill ran 38 off on the A2 he just received Monday before the tourney. Looks like the A2 is going to have a strong season.
  19. Yes, all the above is correct. Thanks all.
  20. Could not get in contact with this number. Tried texting as well.
  21. Had a chance to see these guys ski this weekend at a North Carolina record tournament. Nate got into 43 off scoring 1 buoy. This kid is the best pro skier I have ever seen .Skis like a Robot. Very smooth, ski never changes attitude the whole way through. Corey and Scott rocked as well. Very enjoyable tourny to watch.
  22. Guys, Anyone know a contact where I can get a g10 plate. I need to mount a reflex plate and rtp onto it and velcro to a Goode. Thanks.
  23. The Theory is an awesome ski. I have a 67" I bought because it was a price I liked. I figured I would only be able to ski slow and at maybe 15, 22 off. For me, the ski works well at 34 mph and that's with no wing. When you start getting really short on the line, then the softer flex becomes sort of a hindrance. I really like this ski!
  24. What are the tell tale signs that a ski is too big? If a ski is too big what can be done to make it turn like a smaller ski?
  25. 6 foot long, 12" wide, has really improved my consistency.
