  1. Molly loves the lake, the boat not so much.
  2. @RAWSki you're going to have to replace that XTR eventually! Seriously though - very little feedback on the Revocc and now the carbon core (+$500) is rolled into the whole product line?
  3. @mbabiash I tried that combo at the established settings. Everything was good except the on-side turn. For various reasons I didn't attempt to tune it further.
  4. 12" long, 1.00" diameter. As new - just decided to keep my old handle. $125. Link to Ski-It-Again below. SIA ad
  5. @jayski the NRG R1 has caught my attention too
  6. Sold!
  7. Bindings: Front Reflex at 29 7/16" which is 3rd hole from the back on the short Reflex plate. Rear Wiley as far forward as it will go - I removed some material from the back of the Reflex plate to make that happen. I've tried bindings one hole back but not forward. Ended up in the same place as they were on the Rev6. Fin: 6.775" long (tips), 2.500" deep, 0.750" DFT (head), 9.5 wing. That much DFT on a short/deep setup is what tells me the ski might be too big, but I don't have any trouble turning it. Oh and if the fin doesn't whistle it isn't set up right :)
  8. Thanks for the info on the long/shallow - I tried it and it was no bueno for me. My personal preference for the deep/short remains. At this point the only question in my mind is whether or not I should try the 66.5" ski... but I feel like the 67.25" will be the right choice in warm/soft summer water and not the water that is now about 70 and falling. I'm going to ride what I have for the foreseeable future.
  9. @skiboyny the short answer is no improvement to buoy count. When I ordered the Revolution I was kinda stuck at 1.5-2 @ 38 and by the time it arrived I had picked up a couple buoys on the Rev6. Unfortunately I have not skied much in the past few weeks, but in the 6 sets I have on the Revolution my buoy count is the same as where I left off. The Rev6 might be my favorite ski ever. I was a half a buoy off my PB in one of our last tournaments and it enabled consistency - we finished a lot of 35s where I should have been swimming at 3 or 4 ball. What I wanted out of the Revolution was more inbound speed after the turn. I feel that but haven't been able to turn it into more buoys yet. My trial will probably be graded an Incomplete as Michigan weather is turning from summer to fall pretty quickly. At the moment I'm thinking the Revolution is a keeper, or at worst I will try the 66.5". I will definitely not be selling the trusty Rev6 though. @DW you are correct, the slot calipers have no relief along the length of the arms on the caliper. It is a flat surface so regardless of where you place the fin, it will be the same. I've seen a pair but I don't own one. They would be handy for the DFT measurement for sure!
  10. @skibug How are those long/shallow numbers working for you? I have always preferred deep/short and I think I'm close to a good setup for that, but I'm feeling like long/shallow might be good on this ski. It is pretty fast right now - I can easily get up on the boat at the gate and across the course but I could have more ski in the water at the finish of my turns. Sometimes I get a little tip rise, but I'm putting that on me, not the ski. I feel like I don't need the fin depth, so going shallow might make the ski really nimble and fun. Right now I have my front binding at 29 7/16" (Reflex, measured under the cleat), 6.774" long (tips), 2.500 deep, 0.750 DFT (head), 9.5 deg wing.
  11. Hello guys and gals, our club is selling our 2017 Malibu TXi at the end of our season. The boat will be available on November 1 and it will have approximately 300 hours at that time. We are asking $49500. Details are in the SIA ad which is linked below. 2017 Malibu TXi on SIA
  12. @ellenm Part of the reason I haven't followed up earlier comments is that someone else in my club tried my ski and liked it so much he bought it. He is also 32 mph and was skiing on a 66" Radar. The 67" Revolution worked for him and he's below the recommended weight range for that size so don't be afraid of the 66.5" ski. My new new ski comes on Wednesday and I'll pick up where I left off Wednesday evening.
  13. The weather and my schedule haven't been a great match lately but I have a few passes on the Revolution now. All I can say is that it does feel faster/lower effort and it definitely carries speed out of my offside a little better than the Rev6. It also seem like it has a more defined kick point in the rocker that is a touch further back, so the same binding location resulted in some behavior that is a little grabby. Next time out I'm going to move my front binding back a hole, which will be closer to the stock setting of 29 3/8". I'll post some more detail when I get a couple good practice sets.
  14. @RAWSki you aren't the first one to suggest that :)
  15. @Krlee Thank you! I have a 67.25" due to arrive on Friday but I'm skiing really well on the Rev6 right now so I may not make the change immediately.
  16. I'm interested in any direct comparison to the Rev6: Notable performance differences? Changes in settings required? The Goode settings page isn't updated for the Revolution yet. I'm basically running the Alternate #2 settings on the Rev6 and that's where I would start with the Revolution.
  17. @Buoyhead69 As a friend of friends I didn't want to give you the hard sell on something that you may not like! @Gar, the Denali does all the great things advertised but requires more handle control than I currently practice. I do not regret trying the ski at all, it was really fun and enlightening to try something so different. At the moment I'm back on my ProBuild working on that and enjoying our extension of summer while I wait for the Pony Express to deliver the next ski I want to try.
  18. Like @eleeski said, the rotten egg smell in the exhaust is likely sulfur on the catalyst getting burned off; sulfur can be deposited on the catalyst as a byproduct of combustion. You mentioned that you tried 91 octane, but what is your fuel source? Do you use pump fuel or bulk/off-road fuel? How is your oil consumption? There is very little sulfur in the current blends of 15W40 oil and road grade fuel these days but those are the likely sources if sulfur is indeed the root cause. Since you've had this issue from delivery I don't think it's any issue with the engine itself. Hope this helps and you can get it fixed under warranty!

@DooSPX sorry brother, purely accident. Careless fingers on my tablet.
  20. Well of course hardware change is an option but they obviously don't think it's worth it to redesign the valvetrain for a market of this size despite the mark up. AFM (just like Ecoboost, start/stop, etc) works where it has to... on the fuel economy tests for the window sticker. Given the fixed timing of the intake vs. exhaust valves I would expect thsee engines to do better than a twin cam/dual independent setup like the VWs with respect to carbon buildup on the intake valves. Time will tell.
  21. @GOODESkier where did you get the shims? I would love this ski if I could tame the onside and I'm running out of adjustments to do that!
  22. GenV engines can idle in 4 cylinder mode. Pretty sure that all of them have AFM too, including the LT4. There isn't a non-AFM choice to offer this market.
  23. Thanks, that was the one site I found and it does look like a good one.
  24. Hey ballers, I don't post much but I'm considering a transfer to Spring Hill, TN so naturally checking out ski sites is priority #1. I checked the Google Earth file (doesn't look too promising) and previous discussions here - nothing definitive. Is @Ham_Wallace still around?? Thanks in advance for any replies.
