  1. @ToddL Todd, you just gave me my assignment for the weekend. :) thank you,
  2. I've been in a funk on my offside turns (RFF) for way too long, so wanted to try something different. Most often, the ski doesn't come around, and try as I might, I can't keep the rear foot from slamming down on the tail and stalling any progress. Bending the knees doesn't really work for me but maybe I could concentrate on the ankles. But.....I have Draft bindings which are tight and limit much vertical foot movement. I decided to loosen the strings a bit and see if I could lift up off my toes in the pre-turn, flexing the ankles, (and the knees should follow) and hold it as the ski comes around. I was pleasantly surprised how nicely the ski finished the turn, the tip was lover and it held better angle to balls 2,4,6. It worked maybe 3 out of 20 turns :( but maybe it's something I can practice at.
  3. I believe it's a 5.8L PCM? If so, follow the fuel feed line going into the FCC. That will be the outlet of the low pressure pump which has an internal screen. Disassembly of the pump is required to get to the screen. (the low pressure pump pulls fuel from the tank for delivery to the higher pressure FCC)
  4. Always go back to the last thing you did. Can you add enough "new" gas? On my similar era PCM, rough running always had me looking at a very dirty rotor and distributor cap. But, if the problem started after adding fuel, then try and refill with fresh gas.
  5. I can't wait to try this. With all my years of experience behind 20mph outboards, I'm a shoooo-in!
  6. @ski6jones I hear ya. When I lived down south years ago, a hurricane came through and there was flooding everywhere. Saw some guys skiing behind a high bed pickup truck, and vowed to do that some day. :) This is my buddy's kid yesterday. Winds were gusting to 20+mph. Hobie Cat's can move!
  7. Got my InTow rope/handle last night. In the box was a personal letter from Brenda :) a nice t-shirt, can insulator and a new Spectra Radius handle, with a cross guard. Best of all, she included a stamped pre-addressed envelope to send the check to. I'll try it out tonight. From order to my door......three days.
  8. @david_quail you're looking much better. I too am working on the land drills. Spent the weekend skiing using Robert Landing's drills (hips up, elbows locked) and I noticed the increase in speed on my off-side. I over-did it with the run (2 passes around our lake, about 6 miles), but it gave me something to focus on. keep it up!
  9. Again, my only issue was, "It would have been nice to see notification on their site "Item is on Backorder", so I could have had another choice.
  10. Prayers your way Ty! C is so much more treatable these days and sounds like you're in great hands. My best day skiing was STILL at your place a few years ago. I won't forget the extra time you took to dial in my F1 that day.
  11. @Kellen417 Great post. I too switched from a F1 to a Carbon V and couldn't be happier. I'm going to put it through the course this weekend and just keep slowing down until I run some buoys. :)
  12. Isn't Ty Oppenlander's place near Grand Rapids?
  13. We painted our fins bright fluorescent orange. Seems as though the dropped ski was always upside down. :( BUT, we never lost one.
  14. I practiced one of these tips last night free skiing and the guys in the boat noticed an immediate improvement on my often times, weak offside. I will continue to work on rotating and letting the handle come to me, rather than reaching for it. Seems to make sense and definitely put me in a stacked position and was very easy to keep the ski in edge across the 2nd wake. Thanks everyone! I might make that 32 off pass yet!
  15. And.......she trusts that you'll send her a check AFTER the product arrives. Incredible. :)
  16. @scoke "slap it on the pole"......probably a poor choice in words with this esteemed group. :) How about, "we pre-treat the loop end with Rope Magic preservative before we allow our sacred ML mainline anywhere near the officially measured Malibu ski pole" ? LOL Five year lifespan? Yeah. Brenda rope and handle. Chewed up pretty good but still intact. We're mostly 15-32 offer's; not anywhere near the pros on this site. :(
  17. My old slalom rope and handle was looking pretty shabby after five solid years of use and my clubie's were giving me weird looks when I would slap it on the pole, so thought I would get a new Masterline. Nice website Easy to order Then wait, and wait. I finally called today to see what's up and I find out the handle (Carbon Custom) is on hold. I was hoping to have the new rope and handle last weekend. (ordered 5/25), but now it looks like the earliest I'll have it is 6/17. :( It would have been nice to see notification on their site "Item is on Backorder", so I could have had another choice. I'm sure it's a great product, but it would have been nice to know before ordering. thanks,
  18. I think its from '78. Classic Connelly Hook. Wish I still had it.
  19. Any good car battery that has similar CCA's should work fine. I'm personally done with Interstate Marine batteries that start going south after a year. So....I've been using a Costco auto battery for my 2002 PCM, going on three years now. So far, so good. And the price difference paid for a few cases of beer. :)
  20. Good Zeppelin tune. Stuck in my head with the snow and rain recently. Well, if the weather breaks, I'll be on the water.
  21. Got the dock and lift in! And then got my buddy's dock and lift in! Then recovered with a long siesta in the shade......... .....
