  1. Just rode the 6.1 at Andy's place. Very stable and forgiving high performance ski. Easy on my jacked up 50 year old back. I'm a 34 mph guy who has never ran -35. One thing that I experienced today that I never have before is after coming out of a turn in bad position that should have resulted in lean lock and or a nasty out the front ,neither one happened and I was able to come up out of the overloaded position and finish my pass as if nothing went wrong Are you guys experiencing this ease of getting back into the pass with this ski? Second ride tomorrow. Can't wait !
  2. Heading to Florida for work this week. Left a message with Mapple, hopefully they will get back with me and I will get an opportunity to demo the new ski
  3. Thanks for the heads up guys. Free ski ride at Ski West if ever in the Bakersfield area.
  4. Water Ski Industry Professional looks pretty sweet next to your name Krista Good luck to you on your new venture .
  5. Sorry if I gave you a dislike on accident Ed. I tried to close a pop up on my phone and I think I hit dislike on accident I will have to give you 10 Awesome's to make it up : )
  6. Thanks guys. Just rode my friends quest. Smoothest 32's I've ever ran. Was way easier to work on the handle control and was able to move around on the ski and not get punished. Will ride it all weekend will add Maple to my list
  7. Looking to replace my S2 with a 2014 ski. Run -32 pretty consistently at 34 mph. Average a few at -35 and have never seen the exit gates.Working on handle control and am curious if there is a best ski for me at this stage of my advancement ?Can get a demo on most skis but Radar and Connelly are tough to find a demo in the Bakersfield area where I ski.
  8. Welcome aboard. Nice video quality , you made it easy for us. Remember to only try a few of the suggestions at a time. One thing I would add is separate your edge change and reach. Keep both hands on the handle through the edge change then slowly start your reach. You are currently letting go of your handle at the same time as your edge change. This will give you better balance (3 ball at -28) and more speed in the correct direction .Send us the video when you run that 28
  9. LIVING THE DREAM !!Way to go Dawg. We are lucky people. I will hit you up in 5 years when I am retired and taking the motorhome on the BOS US tour
  10. I wear a Coast guard approved vest which has helped my ribs out a few times. I'm trying to eliminate motion in my skiing so I have no problem with the added padding. The flotation is nice as well.
  11. Awesome picture. That's what it should start to do at -28 and shorter. Spray gets smaller when you let ski come under rope and finish the turn then it gets big again
  12. My comments on the S2 are what happens to me at -32 and -35 at 34 mph. It may be totally different at longer lines and slower speeds ?Good luck on reaching your goals this season.
  13. Try the Radar Senate C if you can, that ski will take you for a nice ride from where you are now to 32 off no problem. The ski is forgiving and will allow for mistakes. When my Vapor gets here I will have an excellent 66.5 S-2 for sale.My experience with the S-2 is you have to be in the right position to ski it well.Weight on back foot it- doesn't want to turn, bend forward out of turn-ski wants to stop.Doesn't like body movement.
  14. Only 1 day away! 8/13/13 Is this taking forever,or is it just me?

  16. You must be an expert in some other extreme sport. You seem to be quite modest, but I think you should change your screen name to DAMGOODSKIER.Good job!And good luck with your 38
  17. Could you clarify this please(for us boneheads)is it water, bug&tar remover and also turtle wax or just water and turtle wax bug stuff. Gonna try it. Thanks
  18. 2010 67" Elite and 2012 66" Razor on the way.Is Horton the Bakersfield area collection point?UPS knows where you live and you probably have the boxes.
  19. Any Doctors out there? My brain seems to be Vapor locked. Can't get that darn ski off of my mind. Might have to buy my way out of this situation : )
  20. Must of felt great to make it through the exit gates. Way to go you short line skier.
  21. Go get it Chef.I'm right there with you and trying to implement exactly what you are talking about. It only happens for a fraction of a second, but not keeping those elbows in is keeping me from running my 35 as well.I can keep em in at 28 and 32,but not at 35.And one more thing....when you are early going into 5,don't start thinking about the "I finally ran my 35 thread"

    Memory...

Forgot it was ski season once......Ate sh#t over the jump, hit head hard, climbed in over the gunnel of the boat(didn't use swim step) then asked friends "Why are we at the lake, isn't it snow ski season" it was middle of summer. This was #4 of 7 concussions, now I forget almost everything.
  23. There was a recent thread on this sight about back pain that you should look up.I had the pain that you are describing.Stretching the psoas muscle made my pain go away almost right away. Therefore,I did not have to cancel my skiing plans.Good luck
  24. 43 comments ...... MS should start thinking about the Ski West Village September tournament .Spank Horton on his home court. Ballers would pitch in and sponsor you with an all expenses paid trip.Think about it. Not a bad sight, watched Dave Miller run a 5@41 practice set a few weeks ago.
