  1. I believe Eden Ski Lake is the only place in Ft. Myers you can pay by the set.
  2. Boat path is very tough as the rope gets really short. My son has run 39 but I know my boat path was crap. Usually for him we just run him at his regular trick speed which is 18.9 so I am running trick mode not slalom mode.
  3. If you could get it onto a base of a water ski boot I think it would work. I am not sure where the mounting support is in the ski so drilling the ski to mount the wakeboard bindings might be an issue. @eleeski might have some information on this.
  4. I don't take winter pictures because they are too depressing.
  5. I would have gone with 4 also. It doesn’t look to me like the ski is outside the ball.
  6. Usually every spring unless they start to look like that.
  7. @dshock I have home gym envy I would love that. We have the Peloton and an elliptical but that is it. I would love some room for free weights and to be able to do box jumps. My basement ceilings are only about 7.5 feet high.
  8. At 200 pounds I skied a 67” Katana all summer at 30 mph and never wanted for more ski. I think. BK would be plenty in 67” at 195.
  9. For some kids the athletics are an important balance. My son plays lacrosse in college and for him it is as important as the academics. Being part of the team helps keep him focused on the academics. If he went somewhere else strictly for the academics he would be miserable and likely do worse in school. Not every kid is a motivated student when they get to college and having something they love to do can help keep them focused on the academics.
  10. Generally the only people I see running more than 4 (in very rare occasions a 5th) passes are kids and beginning skiers. Kids sometimes don’t have a good sense of what they can do and push themselves more in tournaments. Similar to beginning skiers. I like speeding up the sport but my 3rd pass is not a guarantee and the 4th is risky at best. I would generally go 22, 28, 32 (hopefully) and 2-4@35 on a good day. I am not sure how I would fare at running 28 off the dock then 32. I would think I would have lots of missed openers and missed 32s.
  11. I did. I had a Goode 9960 mid which is still the only ski I have ever run 35 off on. In a fit of boredom over the winter I swapped it for a Nano 1 which I could never get comfortable on. I spent a wasted two summers on a D3 Helix and then a blue Vapor before getting a Fire Mid. All of a sudden it was like being home again.
  12. There is a list of schools here: http://www.ncwsa.com/teams/. Surprisingly not a ton of schools in FL. One of our skiers from New England is a freshman at Rollins right now. If you reach out to me through messaging I can connect you with her dad at least. There is also someone from our region who skis for Clemson and a few kids at Alabama. They might be your best bet to get information about why they selected the schools.
  13. I would love to see some video hopefully it will show soon. That is killer skiing.
  14. Cobles ski school is within an hour of Cary as well.
  15. @Horton how about a sponsor for the floating course. The official course of BOS at Horton Lakes. That might help with the cost.
  16. @Clydesdale when my kids were young we had a rule that there was no tubing until you skied and on a weekend morning no tubing until another tuber showed up. My kids learned to slalom, trick ski, wakeboard and wake skate. This got them interested in skiing. When there were friends over they could tube but I always try to teach the guests to ski.
  17. We have boats moored in the water at my lake for the last 40+ years. We are in from April until October. I have had some boats wind up with blisters in the gel coat but nothing that impacted the performance of any of the boats. A lift would be a plus but for years they weren’t allowed and now it doesn’t make sense for me to make the investment. If I got a new boat I would buy a lift.
  18. Out of curiosity what are you trying to prove with this.
  19. I had a Stilleto back in the mid /late 80s. It was the only ski I ever ran 32 off at 36 mph on because I started skiing less after I graduated from college. I think my Dad sold that ski but I still have a very good condition Connelly HP from about that same vintage in my shed.
  20. @BraceMaker I agree with you. I have an Eagle and a Camaro. The Camaro has the built in waist belt and more flotation and protection. The standard Eagle doesn't have a lot of flotation. I prefer the Camaro but it is much heavier when wet and unfortunately the zipper just broke, it didn't break open but I can't get it to go up and down.
  21. Frankly anyone who wears a comp vest isn't that focused on safety.
  22. With kids that age Orlando is tough to beat. Universal Studios would be great, the kids would have a blast and you are easy distance to some great skiing. We did it with my family and a few mornings my son and I went and skied then spent the afternoon at the parks. Plenty of other options in that area as well.
  23. @eleeski would say glue, clamp and go ski. I agree with @vtmecheng I would put him on a new ski. I would certainly reach out to Radar and see if they will help out somehow. Frequently the ski companies are pretty good about this kind of stuff.
  24. Personally I like the color but you will rule some people out. If I was in the market for a new boat I would try to steal it from you. I think you may need to drop the price to get some action. I would think at 52.5 it would move.
