  1. There is another thread here /forum#/discussion/22038/radar-knotless-mainline-short on this same topic. I am pretty sure Radar will stand behind it.
  2. @Jboss you should really follow the advice of @AdamCord and put your old bindings on the ski and get used to the ski then change bindings. You should also get calipers and wing gauges or at least make friends with someone who has them to get the fun set up properly.
  3. @PeterAK my son never got up in the water on two skis without someone holding him he went right to one ski and we did it long line. My son's sister who is older dropped a ski and learned to ski on one and my son wanted to do it. He was too small to control the skis in the water without the bar connected and asked if he could try one. It took 3 or 4 tries before he got out of the water but pretty quickly he was a slalom skier.
  4. Good advice from @eleeski When I started I used to point my toes to come out of the harness and I still do it today. I have never been good enough to need the heel strap.
  5. I would have taken the day off :). Did she learn some good stuff?
  6. I couldn't disagree more with @escmanaze on changing your ski. That Katana is great for where you are at right now and will help you improve. There are some papers on here about fundamental body position. I would find and try to read those. Seth Stisher has some videos on fundamentals including the whip drill which is really good for body position and working through the wakes. @2Valve is absolutely right if you can find some good skiers find them and introduce yourself and try to ski with them. I would definitely recommend getting coaching and going to a camp with your daughter would be awesome. When my kids were the age of your daughter we went to Coble's Ski School a bunch of times where there are kids the same age as your kids and they all had a blast. Time on water with some good coaching is the key.
  7. @Jerry44 good video. I will agree that the Katana is super easy to get up on, turns well and is fun in the course. I have been skiing it for the past two seasons at 30 mph from 22 off to 35 off (only a few buoys and few times) and it turns hard and is a lot of fun. I think the upper speed limit is 32 mph probably. @rodecon I think it depends on what speed your friend is ultimately looking to ski. It might make sense to start out on a Katana (which are fairly inexpensive) then upgrade. The Katana makes a great boat ski later on.
  8. @rodecon the Union is a slightly wider version of the Senate using the same shape. The Katana has a bit different shape. Not sure what the different design objectives were. @Brooks could probably comment.
  9. @Orlando76 maybe if the boat is on a private lake it doesn't have to be registered which would avoid sales tax.
  10. @Eljaybee I have seen two different ways. I just hold the handle with both hands and work my foot up into it. It takes a little balance but can't take a ton of flexibility because I am not flexible and can do it. My son pulls extra rope in and holds on to the thicker section of rope then crosses his free leg across the ski leg with the angle resting just above the knee and works it on that way.
  11. @rfa I figured you were going to comment that you had one on the way also.
  12. It is 7 feet short at 15 off? That seems like a tremendous amount. The good news is if you have run 15 off you really ran 22 off.
  13. What happens stinks but it is very hard to predict the schedule. I always plan to spend most of the day on site. Regarding Nationals reach out to your RVP and I would expect you will get a waiver for Nationals. I can't see a reason not to give you one.
  14. I would go Katana. I have a 67” Katana and ski it in the course at 30 mph and have skied it at 32. Another option might be the Union. I think the Butter Knife is too wide to ski the course faster than 26 or 28 mph.
  15. It looks like fun. I could use one at my house. It looks like a great ski for getting people up on one.
  16. I am targeting Men’s 9 right now. Unfortunately I need to wait about 20 years.
  17. @Than_Bogan we ran a ski show on the middle lake when I was a kid. They wouldn't only do stuff for the Governor but for other good reasons as well. We also ran a ski show on Dug Pond as well.
  18. That video of Mitt is on Lake Cochituate which is our lake in Mass back when he was Governor. The lake is a state park and what is interesting is there are three ponds that make up the lake and there is only one you can water ski on and they were skiing on one of the ponds that is a no ski zone.
  19. I agree with @Bruce_Butterfield. For me (when I was skiing tournaments) Regionals was always the highlight of my year and my biggest focus. I was not good enough at the time to qualify for Nationals so trying to ski my best in an event that was one shot was fun for me. I didn't mind taking a few days off if needed and would generally take most of the week and lend my hands to help run it in any way needed. I do get the issue for super large geography regions. I am in the East where at most you could have a 6-7 hour drive and usually it isn't more than 3 hours or so. If you have kids it can become a longer week because the kids usually ski early in the week and Mens 4 can be at the end of the week at least in my region but it was always a great time for us and something my son really looked forward to.
  20. Not sure I could convince my wife to move there. Too far from her beloved ocean. I love the idea of skiing with Marcus and getting Jenny to work me out in person instead of virtually.
  21. Gloves, vests, heater tops, swim trunks and close outs. Things that you need to try on which is why gloves and vests are the top.
  22. How cold does it get in the winter there?
  23. Interesting that the Katana has a tiny bit less surface area in the 67” length than the Union. I have been skiing the 67 Katana at 200 pounds at 30 mph and it has plenty of support. It is a fun ski in the course at slower speeds.
  24. I skied A1 for quite a while and never had problems going back and forth between PP classic and ZO.
  25. Usually most airlines have a sporting goods clause for baggage. I haven't flown AA but I know that DL and JB both do. Go to the website and look it up. I generally printed it out and brought a copy with me to save time and arguments. It frequently prevents you from having to pay oversize baggage fees.
