  1. I just draw a line 90 degrees from the top lacing behind the front boot across the top of the plate. Just measure from the line to the back of the ski and get exact numbers.
  2. Thanks for the update!
  3. Whitney's ski looks big for her size. Anyone know what length of ski she is on?
  4. Were those numbers in a tournament somewhere?
  5. Thanks Russell, I am running a 422 on my 97. Have also run the 668. I guess I am confused on the diameter. Which prop is the 14.25 that came with your 2010 promo boat? 422 12.50 15.500 0.105 cup blades 4 1" RH 668 12.50 15.500 0.150 cup blades 4 1" RH http://www.acmemarine.com/prop-list_ski-boat.php
  6. Just for clarity, when you are talking about the 15.5 and the 14.25, specifically which model number are we talking about? I assume the 14.25 is 422 or 668 with more cup but I am not 100% sure. I have no idea as to the 15.5 as this is the first I have heard about it. I am wondering if it would improve my fuel economy on my 97 Nautique. FYI, I will be skiing behind rwskier's 2010 200 at its new home here in Alaska in about 6 weeks.
  7. Does anyone know if there are any BOS members who ski in Oregon? I need to know who to contact for a pull at either No Name Lake in Molalla or Sabrina Lake in Halsey around March 16 or 17.
  8. Shane, mine has the black dash so I don't think it should be a problem. There is not a whole lot of room under the dash to move it around. AB, when it is cold in the spring and fall we wear all the clothing you mentioned and then some. I wear my bunny boots to keep my feet warm when I am driving or observing. When I ski I heat up my Stradas with hot water from my shower while on the platform. In between runs it is into the jacuzzi to rewarm the hands and feet.
  9. Jody, you are the man. Thank you! Mine has the foam.
  10. I like the one in front of the dash pod on the 196. It works really good in the morning when the window is fogged up. Besides, I use the others to stay warm. Anyone else know how to uninstall and reinstall the windshield?
  11. Step by step, how do you remove the windshield on a Ski Nautique 196? I am installing heater vents and I need to remove the windshield to get adequate clearance for the hole saw.
  12. @chrisrossi Thanks Chris for sharing your ski settings. I do understand your personal settings may not work for everyone. If you don't mind, how much to you weigh?
  13. @chrisrossi Chris, what are your personal settings? Are you on a 66?
  14. After reading this entire post, I have decided that less is more. This post made me really appreciate that PP has given us "have nots" the Zbox. Now my $15,000.00 97 Nautique provides a very low cost training alternative that makes tournament skiing affordable. I would say to the "haves" look out, there is no longer a training advantage. The Zbox has provided us "have nots" with the money to train with a ZO feel and spend thousands on good coaching to improve our buoy count.

  16. I once had the high RPM issue on a 91 Nautique after installing a ACME 422. Explained the problem to ACME and they switched it out for the 668. It was the smoothest prop I ever ran and it put the RPM right where it needed to be. I am considering switching out my 422 on my 97 GT-40 Nautique. I would like to hear what others think of the 668.
  17. Since it would be a patent infringement to exactly duplicate ZO, I would not expect that. If my Z-Box provides a close simulation for just over $400.00, how could I ask for more. With so many ways to adjust the PP system I know I will get mine close enough. Every ZO boat I have skied behind felt a little different (maybe it was the boat or something else). Now all I need to do is decide which region of the world, Country, State, water temp, air temp, Nautique 200 version(343/409), etc. etc. I want to try to simulate. But before I do that I just want to thank PP for providing the Z-Box option.
  18. Did the Goode 9100 have an aluminum top? In the DVD when they show the ski up close, the guys says it has an aluminum top. After reading Horton's comment I am leaning toward EP. The JOBE tip looks a little different. There is a cool part in the DVD when he was sponsored by JOBE and is barefooting from Jeff Jobe's helicopter skid. Does anyone know if Schnitz Skis had an aluminum top? Jeff Rogers also road a Schnitz Ski in several parts of the DVD.
  19. I saw him riding at least 4 or 5 brands throughout the video. We are talking about the one he recently set the Men's Masters record on. I think they said it was about 16 years old. Time to get the old skis out. Did Schnitz Skis have an aluminum top?
  20. How many manufactures used aluminum tops? I know he never skied for HO.
  21. I thought that was and Adjustable RTP. Floating is when it is mounted to a plate that can move front to back and be canted left or right (Floating on the Ski). The ones from RADAR doesn't have Velcro, they use laces over and elastic strap.
  22. So what brand was the old ski Jeff was riding in his DVD? I thought maybe it was an old JOBE Spectra1400.
  23. I like the instructional video above. Ed should make several, I have a hard time finding all the correct menu's and then remembering how to make the changes. It is nice to have the option to make little tweaks, even though it can get a little complicated.
  24. Hugh, It is a 1997 Ski Nautique GT-40. The boat has a higher power to weight ratio than any Nautique with 343 hp or less. I don't know how they did it, but the specifications show it weights 2,350 lbs.
  25. Did I miss something. How many hours on the 196? Must be extremely low for that price.
