  1. I thought of this thread last night driving a ZO boat. With the ZO set at 34.2 the indicated speed fluctuated all over the place from a high 35.8 to a low 32.2. I see similar fluctuations with my PP SG Zbox running version 9.12, but ball times are very close. Skiing behind version 9.12 and ZO on a similar H.P. boat I can no longer feel a differece in practice or tournaments.
  2. So, my boat is a 97. It came from San Jose, CA with the rudder ground just like the one above. I was told by and old Nautique engineer they did that on my 91 to ease the pressure out of a full turn to the right, not to load the steering. Anyway here is what it looks like now and it is one of the best steering bubble backs I have driven. emgt8kxqa14v.jpg

  3. @Ed_Johnson, looking at the settings you used on the Vapor, forward DFT with the CG Fin, the numbers are much different than what I found to work. When I went forward the ski turned sharp, but the tail felt like it slid in the turn and the back of the ski became unstable or loose crossing the wake. I am at .742 DFT now and find this position to work well. Did you try moving DFT back from your standard fin settings by .030, at a minimum, as suggested by @AdamCord, and if so what were the results?
  4. @Than_Bogan - Yes, travel is limited by the clamp that holds the fin. The back of the CG fin sits in the clamped area infront of the open space seen in this picture with a stock fin. I will post the same picture with the CG fin tonight.

  5. The longer DFT set screw will not work in my situation, the notch in the back of the fin is forward of the allowable range a set screw can move. But as others have said, the set screw is not necessary, but I would add it's a nice luxury when setting DFT. I'm positive the Adams will improve the design after they recieve feedback from the first adopters.
