  1. @Onside135 ours is a sport that celebrates the run off, and a properly performed S turn can get you there
  2. We didn’t do much this week due to other projects taking priority, but Casey did put the shine on some of the puzzle pieces.
  3. in my world the S turn is usually reserved for somewhere at 38 I've got 6 rounds to score some S turn buoys this weekend at the Broho
  4. @Jody_Seal but if you can't run -39, you don't get a chance to S turn at 41
  5. there's a skill to using the S turn when needed, and it's a tight line when getting back to the wake before the next boat guide, well within the rules, "cheat to win" comes to mind from my old race car days.....but S turns are legal and do count so use the rules to your advantage whenever possible
  6. @Jody_Seal I talked to Joe at FFI this morning, asking about replacement drums, he said they'd be difficult to repair, but has a collection of over 30 complete used transmissions should we need some donor parts
  7. the clutch pack parts we found are coming from : Fantastic Finishes, Inc. 1669 W. 130th Street, Hinkley, OH 44233 330 273 8291 evidently one of the previous partners was a boat guy
  8. My son can’t help himself, it’s become quite a project. I’ll be dusting off the fiberglassing skills my dad taught me as a kid.
  9. Lake Stevens Water Ski Club. Lake Sammamish Water Ski Club. Drive south and come take a set at the Broho. Send me a PM.
  10. we're thinking that we could do without replacing the foam under the floorboards, anybody with input/knowledge ? @Jody_Seal
  11. @Jody_Seal can drums be welded and re-machined ? I know a machinist that's very sharp
  12. I should say that the recommended upgrade to a Model 80 was a $3k cost over run.
  13. Because Dr Jack’s Brendella needs a transmission overhaul, we started looking for repair parts. Gasket sets and seals are all readily available, but every where we looked for clutch packs the answer was, “no longer available”. But with a little Internet forum mining, we found a comment from 2021 about someone reproducing said clutches in Ohio. I ordered some today and we’ll see them next week.
  14. The soggy plywood transom removal was a lot more work than anticipated.
  15. I’m glad the engine needed removing, as the transmission is in need of an overhaul. We’ll reseal the engine and paint everything pretty. I believe Dr. Jack had the engine replaced at one point in this boat’s life. The stringers were a lot worse than we thought. I’ll pull the shaft, strut, and rudder in the morning so we don’t have to work around them in the bilge. Tomorrow they’ll cut the rotten plywood out of the transom. And next week will begin the re-assembly part of the fun.
  16. This is all @Horton ‘s fault. I must’ve changed the oil when we first got the engine up and running. Seems like only yesterday.
  17. @Dano stringers may be alright but we’ll remove the foam for better analysis. The pylon bracket will need some love, and the wiring harness is going to get a little attention. Marine plywood and some fiberglass work are relatively cheap and easy. The carpet, rotten floor, and motor box scraping has sure filled the dumpster.
  18. Bump My son got tired if looking at my sidelined project this week. It started with, “we should put a shine on that thing “. It then became, “we should fix the floors and get Burien Upholstery to finish the interior “. I guess we’ll need to pull the engine and fix the transmission. Those picture will be next week.
  19. both Eddie and Andy would be proud. way to go "Buford Danger" ! aka RayDay I heard
  20. You can be the proud owner of a signature series custom trick ski. 43” model, includes a size 10 Radar boot. Right Front. I’m sure if you asked @eleeski he’d be glad to give you lessons at his lake as well. It will need a little bondo repair, and a fresh coat of white Krylon. Pay the shipping and buy me a beer if/when we ever get together. Send me a PM with your story of why you deserve such a priceless piece of water ski paraphernalia. Best story wins. And if there are two winning stories, I also have another w/o binder. It makes a great shelf too.
  21. know you know why they don't make a large number of 3 event boats, the profit margin just isn't the same by comparison
  22. a friend of mine sent me this picture today. Retail = $372,131. only $283,058. at the Boat show this week
