@skiboat38 I know I'm an old fart but basically a teenager in ski years since I did not start until being almost 50 years old. My point is 2 fold, one yes we need to continue to find ways to attract and retain kids and young adults in the sport, two, it is never too late to attract folks that have not participated in the past. We just need those in the sport to constantly be ambassadors in one way or another.
I have the SKi Doc, like it and use it for record tours, works well and is sturdy. For practice video, I use my IPhone, Wake Eye ap and use it in selfy mod, much less vibration.
Seems like people can use the online scoring to keep track of how the day is going and where the events are timing wise, since many/most folks now have smart phones; in the event they are not able to be at the lake to take in many/most of the activities.
@Simpson , good points and sorry for that experience. I think as you mentioned, some sort of registration flag for Regionals and Nationals, indicating it is your first and/or having some Ambassadors to help walk you through if you have questions/new/give you some tips/ect to these great events.
Using tournaments keeps me from needing to keep track of my skiing. I have to keep track of lots of numbers for my work and don't ever want to need to do it for my addiction, water skiing. I do make mental notes of how practice is going.
@bananaron I have a 2015 CP with 6 liter, great boat, great wakes for slalom and drives great. I believe one of the best boats ever built. Mine has a single puck ZO and recently upgraded to Rev S.
@Zman I have used a couple different ones, both are the same size. The one is a JVC Everio. I attach to the mount, open the window, rotate the door and close it with the viewing window facing out and it works fine. The other models are Sony, similar size and weight.
I've had one for a couple years and very pleased with it. I am a TC and also use it with a camcorder and transmit the signal to a DVR, and pleased with that as well. The camcorder has a great picture, Hi Def, and I notice even less movement in the picture with it.
Masterline 1.062 with rope strung in the Y to protect from head going through. 12" bar, straight. My hands measure 8.25" from my wrist to the end of my longest finger (to give a little perspective on sizing).
And old ropes will tend to dry rot. A few years ago I pulled out a rope I had not used for maybe 2 years, stored in similar way to yours, pulling across the wakes it just snapped. Be careful.
Dane grew up in Ohio, Cincinnati area, undergrad In LOuisiana, grad school in Florida, working full time for consulting firm in Charlotte and skies at Little Mountain just outside Charlotte. Quality young man.
The dock starts I have driven and seen generally do not include the skier getting completely in the water prior to take off. But thanks for a great laugh.
