  1. @JeffSurdej I would be in favor of a December 31st cutoff based on scores between Nationals and the end of the year. Scores after Nationals are often a skiers best and certainly representative of performance for all. It also allows skiers below the threshold a goal to attain before Nationals. As I have watched cutoff scores the last few years, they don't seem to move much from year to year.
  2. @RazorRoss3 that's what Winter is for, to get things done.
  3. I certainly enjoy tournament skiing as my personal challenge, place to socialize with a lot of great folks from a lot of areas with a common interest, talk about skiing and life. Skill does not matter, it's about fun, friendship and there are a bunch of side competitions. I always seem to find someone, regardless of their and my division, and we enjoy that one on one or one on some group competition. I do find it interesting that some folks tell me they don't like to spend the whole day or weekend at the lake but when you see them on their home lake, they spend hours there, not sure there is any difference. I started skiing late in life, 46 years old, went to my first tournament without running a pass. But the friendships I made are wonderful and I would not trade for anything (well maybe for running 38 :-) ). Now I have learned how to prepare mentally and what works for me. Over the years continuing to improve and now get in to 35 off. I've spent a lot of time learning, spent a number of weekends at tournaments and found them very fulfilling to me. Now my wife and grandchildren go with me regularly, not skiers, but also like the people and the relaxing, laid back atmosphere. Everyone has there ways to relax and get away from day to day challenges, I find these tournaments a great place to learn and grow, in many ways, not to mention giving me invaluable interpersonal skills for my professional life.
  4. @lpskier I think that discussion of the speedo is TMI. We may need to put you in a special place in the running order. :)
  5. I have judged and scored Regionals, Nationals and a number of record events and never seen a judge completing any paperwork. As a scorer I always write it down and enter in the computer.
  6. I know that I bought @santangelo 2015 CP and could not be happier. These boats have the best wakes, drive great and look forward to them continuing in the future.
  7. Last 2 passes need to be submitted along with skier video from the boat and gates.
  8. Yesterday I watched a 60 minutes episode online about the entire climb. Very interesting and impressive.
  9. @cragginshred not yet but think it would be a good idea.
  10. Within the past month or so @Horton did. I got a pair of clear ones and a pair of shaded ones. Work well.
  11. @LeonL we may need to use our tractors to pull if we don't take better care of our folks willing to have promo boats. I'm not speaking of you Leon, but all of us as tour directors and participants and as @Jody_Seal points out, and I agree, everyone needs to treat these expensive boats like our own prized possessions. I think we also need to be prepared and plan on using our own boats as tour organizers and directors and not plan events thinking a promo will be available.

  13. @LoopSki I have bought a couple over the years. Usually find them on Ebay. They are normally in the range of $50 - $60. They work fine as a dust cover for boats that are not stored outside.
  14. @aupatking Any tips on how to reinstall the spring, screw and plastic marker? I removed mine, greased and unable to replace. Thanks.
  15. @DefectiveDave give me a call or send me a note, I will be glad to look at it if you would like.
  16. @Horton what does "but when I slowed the boat down to 32 and 30 MPH, I discovered this ski’s sweet spot." mean as far as rope and buoy count? Thanks
  17. A couple years ago I was visiting my sister and her family in Seattle. She asks me where I want to go site seeing. I give her the address for Wiley's and ask her to take my picture in front of the store. She said she is sure I'm nuts now!
  18. To me it is all based on water & air temperature And personal preference. I have tops, multiple weights, long sleeve shorty, short sleeve shorty, 3/2 full wetsuit, 3/4 full wetsuit & dry suit. Lots of protection.
  19. @RPT I sent a note to Wally and he responded that he will follow up with you.
  20. Good podcast but I was expecting some carpool karaoke by @Horton, or at least by @"Buford Danger Horton" .
  21. Do you put RainEx on the Bombers? Some sort of strap on them?
  22. I'm glad to see ZBS in place and last year saw several kids take advantage of it. My experience is that the design is more directed toward less experienced skiers and giving them the opportunity to become more involved in tournament skiing. It sounds like @lpskier that the crowd there was more on the higher experienced end and I would be surprised in those type events to see it used. Thanks for the update.
