  1. @jercrane, is your 6 liter a partially or totally closed system? I believed the closed system may not need to be drained, just the freshwater side of the system.
  2. My zipper came undone once, in January, 46 degree water, we'll just say, more than refreshing.
  3. I think that out of course driving is equally important in making sure your skier is in the right frame of mind coming in to the course. Driving around an island on start up, don't go around it too quickly which will give your skier the sensation of going much faster than they want and not too slow that your skier begins to sink. Then try and line up early and be as efficient as possible lining up, not going back and forth (left or right). As you come up to speed, try to make that smooth, progressive and steady. And as @bishop8950 describes in the course.
  4. As @klindy mentions, we are hosting the Queens Cup again at Little Mountain. This has been a great event, a lot of competition and comradery and just plain fun. We have looked at a number of formats to continue to grow the event. Jeff Gilbert has worked tirelessly to make it successful, bringing in sponsors and continues to market the event and recruit women from across the country to participate.
  5. @ScarletArrow With the BBT and multiple rounds, do you average the percentage for the multiple rounds to determine your winners? (ex - If it was 2 rds, one round 102% and the 2nd round 97%, for a 2 rd avg of 100%)
  6. @jetpilotg4 If you can find a TC in your area or know a surveyor, that would be your best bet. Either can do a single point survey and get you a good idea pretty quickly and accurately.
  7. Sounds to me like Tupperware. I never can seem to find the right lid.
  8. Seems like this is just waterskiing and we do it for fun and no good reason to get all worked up about it. It's more fun to enjoy the banter between @Horton and @schroed . Maybe that will end up as a jello wrestling match.
  9. I guess @Horton is running his ski with no wing now. Reviews?
  10. I too like to watch great skiers ski, but the Big Dawg and Masters results and the discussions got me thinking about something many folks have mentioned, been talking about, the various conditions at different sites that may or may not affect scores. Is the score really the important part or the competition? I am leaning in the direction of the event and the competition. I would rather be involved in and/or watch events that may not always favor the same type skier. My opinion/interest is that the scores are not that important, that 39 off at one lake may actually be equal to 38 off at another event, where conditions are different. Is 39 off at Moomba the same as 39 off at the Masters. From this thread, I imagine everyone skied behind the same boat, same lake, same lake conditions, ect, but the scores may be a little off, but seems like the people in the top few spots is not a big surprise.
  11. This proves to me that for me, it is better to have and talk to a lot of folks to improve. Everyone has a little bit different perspective and can tell you the same thing, but in a slightly different way, until it all clicks. I feel fortunate to have spent a little time with Adam recently and his perspective, educated approach helped me improve something in my technique. I think Adam offers a lot as a coach and ambassador to the sport and would recommend you book some time with him. Not to mention Charleston is a fun place to visit. Thanks @adamhcaldwell . Unlike @lpskier , Adam did not require a specialty coffee  as inducement for a great set. Just kidding John.
  12. @skidawg I have a 2015 Centurion, recently similar problem. When I checked power at the ignition switch with my meter, I found there was not power there. Ultimately I found out the wires on the starter were not tightened down (there are 3 red wires attached to my starter). Tightened the wires and all is well.
  13. I'll second what @ScottScott mentions, using the nasal rinse daily, usually first thing in the morning, year around. It has helped not only with the lake water, but any other virus or pollen in the air. It has really helped reduce sinus issues and head colds.
  14. I was looking through my new Waterskier magazine last night and saw a full page ad labeled Carbon Pro. I own a 2015 CP with 6 liter and been very happy with this boat. Probably best slalom wake in the market.
  15. What happened yesterday with men's jump? I saw some reference to Freddy taking a fall, not seen the details.
  16. Just make sure there is someone that swims slower than you in the lake. Survival of the fittest!
  17. Those rail systems look very nice and seems like a better option than a dock. I have one friend that has a boat launch on his lot, at the top of the ramp has a garage and inside keeps his boat on trailer with tractor attached to it. This also a very nice set up.
  18. @Horton would @MarcusBrown have some thoughts for you?
  19. Today skied here in North Carolina, air temp 60 F, water 53 F, wore a Camero Blacktec long sleeve shorty and was very comfortable. Area covered by the suit did not get cold. Knees down got a little cool.
  20. @LeonL yes they are great buoys. You may want to use less air in them. We have found that they need no more than 2 or 3 pumps and believe they are very safe. With less air, sometimes we need to squeeze the dimple out, you hit them with a ski and it is much less impactful.
  21. Beautiful lake, right at the base of the mountains, beautiful views and on the Catawba River chain (man made lake for power company). If you are interested in skiing a course, probably not the right place, although a couple of options not too far away (Hickory closest option).
  22. @mbabiash do you ski at the site of the 2018 Nationals (since it looks like you live in that area)? Any comments you can share about the site?
  23. @bassfooter I'll throw in some support for Michigan Tech. My nephew is a graduate of MT a couple years ago. He loved that school. I thought he was nuts wanting to live in that climate, but he was very happy there. But no waterski team I understand.
  24. @lpskier Looks like 2 aliens behind the controls.
