  1. For a bit of background on RTK GPS technology, you can go here. https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/what-is-gps-rtk/all
  2. Really, Kim??? Now things are starting to make so much more sense.
  3. In BMX(a real olympic sport), as a track operator, I do not need Safe Sport training to run the facility and races. Neither do I need it to score. Or be a track judge. I only need it as a BMX certified coach. Which I am.
  4. All I know is that I don't have to deal with Safe Sport training to race in USA Cycling events or be an official in USA Cycling events. Only if I'm a coach.
  5. Death? Who has died from a binding pre-release? A wee bit of sensationalism there.
  6. Not only will the vast majority never be able to attend Pan Ams.......... they just don't care. Than, the Olympics is not just an event. It is a brand that is recognized worldwide for what it is. If you polled 100,000 people in the US if they knew what the pan am games are and you'd have like 3 that did.
  7. We can disagree. No reason to use derogatory names, though.
  8. @buechsr I don't have a responsibility to anyone but myself and my family.
  9. @killer why is it my job to protect someone's kid. Why aren't they protecting them?
  10. @killer where is the data that says something must be done. Same thing we said when the driver's mandate was made in 2012. Where was the data saying drivers were driving drunk at the lake. Or that a past DWI increased the likelihood of an issue. Without data this is all just bs.
  11. @slow I think someone who's carried the badge like Dirt knows what is above board and what is across the line when it goes to your cop friend checking up on someone for you. And probably better understands what makes a difference and what is just posturing by an org when it comes to things like this.
  12. I think you're wrong in that regard. There are PLENTY of people who will choose not to get background checked who have no record. I dropped my driver's rating for that reason. I got a driver record check the first time. Then it was time to renew, I said "Screw it" and just didn't the next time. Hell I've not gotten a ticket on the road in 26 years. I have held an NHRA Pro Stock license. But I thought it was over-reach for USAWS to do a drivers record check in order for me to drive a ski boat. This is the same thing. USAWS will lose good people over this and the judges numbers will dwindle.
  13. That number is fairly accurate. It comes down to revenue. Why would a mfr take up a production slot for a boat with a small amount of profit? When that same slot could be used for a boat with a large amount of profit? You need volume to make that work. But that’s not possible when your production capacity overall is so low. Can they make a low cost boat? Sure. But it makes absolutely no fiscal sense to them.
  14. I don't think most of you understand the small number of 3 event boats sold year over year. It is NOT a lot.
  15. It'd be interesting to get @Greg Banish thoughts. He's been a powertrain engineer for the big 3 for many years. He's probably dyno'd and tuned more fuel injected engines than most people in the business.
  16. There should be! Who would be at the top?
  17. @dan1166 Have you actually tried the roller? Because when we started adding the roller in 2013, our issues went away. The other option we used back then was a set of center bunks added from that crossmember where the roller is added by some forward to about the end of the outer bunks.
  18. nothing will protect you from cargo guys like @The_MS when they drive forklifts over it, though.
  19. @Cooper_Trelawney it was like being invited to sit at the cool kids table in the lunchroom the first time I got to be the boat timer.
  20. There's video out there of Chad Scott from his perspective.
  21. Calf muscles are tough to heal. Especially for us skiers. I did mine getting out of silly tight jump bindings. Spent 6 weeks going to rehab. Tried skiing at 6 weeks because it felt ok in day to day life. But there's a lot that goes on in a ski that doesn't happen in shoes. In the end, was able to ski after 8 weeks. But it was a solid 12 before I didn't think about it any more.
  22. What I meant is those runoff scores should be scored in regards to world rankings. They are judged the same. Driven the same. The same technical rules apply. That's a legit score. In fact, that's under as much or more pressure than a final round score.
