  1. As an example, Conversion systems with the electric motor, battery packs, and controller for vintage cars are starting at about $40k. I'm not sure how good of a repower option that is for most people right now.
  2. What separates me from the next 6 balls? The water. I swear I'm making a comeback. And it will have to be methodical. Like in 2010 and 2011 when I went from a couple at 28 to a couple at 38. I blew off 2010 as a tourney season and started at the basics. I think that's what It'll take for me.

  4. The ol 92 Mastercraft Prostar I used to ski behind early in my days of skiing is still one of my favorites.
  5. Same discussion as in other sports. Some football parents have little 12yo Johnny using hand me down school shoulder pads and helmets. And some buy the latest $1000 CarbonTec shoulder pads $850 Vicis helmet. I know this because I just bought $1850 of pads and helmet. lol
  6. @eleeski has hit his said on his crazy contraptions so often that his cognitive abilities are suspect. Very suspect. Extremely suspect.
  7. you can get threaded brass inserts from amazon or mcmaster carr. Then just use waterproof epoxy to set it.
  8. Budord has "The Horton" down pat. Now, I'm not sure that's going to take her very far in life.
  9. Back in 2011 when I was first trying to run 35, I asked the guy coaching me how to do that. "You're mind-f%cking this. Turn and lean, bro. Just turn and lean." was the response I got.
  10. IMO The best thing one can do to improve their turns is to get the work area behind the boat correct. Things just start to fall into place then.
  11. @wettek69 I can't tell you how unbelievably sorry I am to hear this. And you're not the first person to tell me this. Someone I'm close to in BMX took the SS training in order to be a coach. This person had gone something similar earlier in life and their comment to me was that it wouldn't have changed anything. That bad people are going to do bad things regardless.
  12. Scores were fairly low for a lot of people. There's people in M4 that are capable of running deep 39 and who went down at 35. So you can't compare year vs year in that way.
  13. @braindamage You're a bit off the mark. Knowing a lot of the people here, it's not the boomers who are pushing back as much as it is the next generation.
  14. @UCFskier So this is just about limiting the liability and not mitigating the risk?
  15. Wait, is Joe Darwin driving that line painting truck? :)
  16. "Waterskis are big, fat, and dumb" Somewhat reminiscent of some of the waterskiers I know.
  17. I find myself wanting to buy one. For some reason, I've gotten the urge to ski just as the lake is dried up enough to not be able to! Did Kevin and Kevin sniff each other's butts?
  18. I took it for BMX. But after taking it, I realized that I already knew how to be an abuser. It's all over TV and social media. So honestly, I got nothing good out of it. Dammit, I thought I was going to get some good pointers or something.
  19. I used to build a pressure preluber out of a Moroso poly oil pressure canister with a air fitting on one side into the cannister. Then the outlet had a valve to a hose I'd screw into the oil pressure sensor port. So you didn't need to pull a distributor. Screw the hose into the OP port, Close the outlet valve, Pour oil into it, pressure it to 25psi with a compressor, open the outlet valve and spin the engine over with a breaker. 25psi will push oil everywhere it needs to go and no dealing with distributors. I built it for Ford 4.6 DOHC Mod Motors, which had no distributors, which we were racing at the time. You could build that for $150 today I think.
  20. In a previous life, I built a whole lot of 1000+ hp engines. While to the naked eye, after a month your parts will be oil free, they really aren't. Oil is embedded in the pores and is still a film on the bearing surfaces, journals, cam, etc. Within 2 revs of the motor, the pickup will be filled and by the next you'll be pressurizing the oil passages. It's always best to pre-lube the engine under pressure. You can overcomplicate and obsess about too many things. Fill it up, crank it up.
