If we stopped for geese during our sets, we'd be stopping probably 50%+ of our sets and sometimes multiple passes within one set. Yes, we have a goose problem. It's the skier's call to stop skiing or not.

The scam as I’ve read about it is that you send then they say they never received or received damaged then claim a refund from PayPal. I reached out to other skiers to see if they knew of Georgian skiers but that yielded no info.

@oldjeep - I have sold out of the country before without any issues, but have never been asked to use this type of service. A little initial digging turned up nothing but red flags. I certainly could be mistaken on this, but it just looked sketchy from every angle. I refunded the buyer.

@oldjeep - yeah, that is their own description. There is a lot of description of scam purchasers of items through PayPal and eBay using that shipping service. The shipping service itself might not be the scam, they may just be used by the scammers.

@horton - bank told me to wait to make sure funds from PayPal are legit (??). This whole thing seems scammy. I may just refund the buyer and sell the ski in the North America, which I should've done in the first place. I'd like to ski in the tournament, but my skiing.....is a huge work in progress.

Hey ballers. I put a D3 EVO up on SIA and a buyer from Georgia (the country, not the state - you know "and Georgia's always on my mymymymymymymymy mind.") bought it. Anyway, buyer wants me to ship the ski to a shipping service called USA2Georgia, Ltd. at an address in Delaware. Whole thing smells phishy and the phone number to the facility in Delaware goes to some BS recorded marketing drivel with no mention of USA2Georgia, shipping, etc. There's a website for the company with no mention of the facility in Delaware. Uh huh. Buyer sent money via PayPal, but I'm suspect. Any of you get any similar buyers that wanted to use this same service? Thanks. Jim

@bananaron - get two new knees and work your A off in rehab and to get back in ski shape. I got one 2 years ago just short of my 60th and it was well, well (as in super) worth it. I know it's daunting to think of that, plus your SI, plus your shoulder, but your give up skiing option sucks. Don't give up, man.

@skidawg - how awesome for your family! Best of luck for the kiddos on their careers. Is the U23 pro team Austrian-based? As in he'll have to move over there? I bet the "hills" over there are even bigger than the ones in NE Arkansas.

@skidawg - is you son still riding and progressing up the ranks and is this move related to that (more hills?)? I always thought his road racing was a very cool thing.

@jercrane - Amen. I started using a new term last night during my set. I ran a 32 that I didn't particularly love, but at the end of the lake I told my son who was driving "I Regina'd that one" meaning I gave 'er behind the boat when I messed up a turn.

@Bruce_Butterfield - I see you've hacked into my house cam. @lakeaustinskier - I ski with her former training partner, Daniel Odvarko, and he says no one can hang with Regina in the gym.

@Bruce_Butterfield - I hate asking this because I hate it when others ask me to explain my humor, but you were kidding about the "impressive for a girl" part, right? I mean that is pretty funny if you were.

@Deanoski - scarier than s--t. Glad you are OK. I've dislocated my elbow through the handle and used a handle guard for years, then somehow just let it slide the last few seasons. I will go put a handle guard back on NOW. I wish god would've seen fit to save Brett Yager and others.

@cruznski - water? land use/zoning? both?

I would think you might want a different tail shape on either side. Asym for on- and offside. Actually I'm surprised that more ski companies haven't experimented with asymmetry in ski outline.

@Andre - Gordon Rathbun (you know, Ski Paradise). He usually sets up a September trip to Europe to ski and tour. Small group, awesome accommodations and food, different ski sites, coaching, sightseeing in the afternoon. Not this year unfortunately.

@skibrain - 30.0" I was as far back as I could go (29 5/8) forever on this ski and previous ones. Now I'm stock. I used to adjust fin and binding settings a lot. Now, I'm working so hard on me that I seriously don't care or feel much in terms of setup of my ski or the boat. Put me on whatever ZO setting and let's go.

@brettmainer - I have been trying to formulate responses to poke fun at you since you are just starting to join the "WTF is going on with my skiing" club, but having been there for well over 10 years now, I feel for you. I agree with you - don't just take a set. Have a plan and try to execute and learn from the successes and mistakes within each pass. Time at the lake, whether one quick set or hanging out all day, should leave you feeling good physically and mentally, not bummed. I've left the lake bummed far too many times. This sport is a constant search. Enjoy the search and every little success and take each mistake as something to learn from. You're a damn good skier.

Stock works. I've been all over from shallow and long to short and deep AND tried both of the aftermarket fins. Stock fin at stock settings works. Measure DFT with head of the calipers and your "thumb clamp".

I used to work in the service department at a ski shop in Cupertino, CA in the '70s and '80s and had to mount Hexcels. By far the biggest PITA of any ski to mount with special epoxy and procedures. Hexcels skied "OK", but not better than the other American, Austrian, French, German, and Italian brands. Super light, but that doesn't mean better (sorry Goode). I did buy a Hexcel slalom at a ski swap (oddly enough at the Marine World pro tournament in Redwood City) because Kris skied on one and it looked cool. Could not get that ski to work. At all. But then I had none clue as to how to "tune" a ski, so it might've been great if had just moved my bindings around.
