  1. So what Im hearing is that having visual points for when to turn in doesnt work for all conditions and that most people use feel to know when to turn in unless using a one-handed gate- more timing than anything. The only thing I look for is about whenthe windshield base goes through the gate is when I most often start.
  2. I remember last year schnitz had an article on some visual cues to look at when deciding when to start your cut back towards the gate and I was wondering if anyone still had that or knows about it. It described multiple spots to align with depending on if you wanted to go later or earlier. Im headed to Bennetts in a few weeks and would like to work on getting my gates more consistent.
  3. I agree, the strada is just as fast as the RS1. One of my ski partners was watching me ski on the strada for the second time and said it didnt even look like I took the winter off. My favorite aspect of the ski is that I can stand on it where ever on my offside and not be penalized like I would sometimes on the RS1. The ski is definitely a step up from the RS1
  4. I am the same way, I have a hard time running consistent offside turns and still running a good pass. I havent been on the course yet with this ski but I am already making offside turns silky smooth and leading with my hip. Today was the first time on calm water and let me say this ski is "crazy fast" I thought it might be slightly faster than my RS1 but I know now that its much faster. Sometimes its a little scary how fast Im on the other side already. Im running at 36 mph and 28, 32 off.
  5. thanks for the responses, I will try them.
  6. The wind finally died so last night I rode my 66 strada. I LOVE the ski. Its just as fast as my RS-1 if not slightly faster. Its hard to explain, but the ski is just so smooth(new water flow design). The offside is the best its been in a long time. I always worry about my offside turn and on this ski I really dont have to. Ive my last few skis have been the original sixam, mpd, RS-1 and now the strada and its sweeeeet! I used the settings from pro skicoach and bindings set at 28.625. Did anyone find anyother settings I should try?
  7. Yeah here in southern WI the lake temp is 54, up from 42 degrees the same time last year. This wind is really helping

  11. rossi and rini describe whats new for the strada http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YKLv8oinUU
  12. yeah that is some nice skiing, I love how the ski comes around on the offside
  13. That is a sweet lake, I like the big turn islands and the big pines
  14. I do P90x too. Did plyo today. I was in the best shape of my life this summer when I was doing it. I race snowmobiles in the winter so that keeps me in good shape and not thinking skiing
  15. Agustafson- I also love my RS-1. What did you feel was different with the starda compared to the RS-1? I heard the offside is more forgiving than the RS-1 is that true?
  16. I already want the radar starda ski. I like what I hear from all the reviews already. I have the rs1 now and love the radar products.
  17. The way its setup it looks like the ski options are above and then the binding options below. thought it might be
  18. Is the radar strada front foot specific? Look at the link http://www.waterskis.com/Radar-Strada-Water-Ski-p/radar_strada_waterski.htm
  19. chris rossi said they tried to make the off-side easier to allow skiers to run considerably more bouys, what did you feel??
  20. Deanoski im excited for you to try the new strada. Im already waiting impatiently. Have fun and take in everything you can about the new ski
  21. i just ran the boat with the suggested rpm settings from (clemsondave) above, along with a gps. I ended up at 32-3130rpm, 34-3340rpm, 36-3590rpm for exact speeds with the gps. I cant run the course because I trailer my boat to a course so I still need to do that. Im going to run the speed through the course press up then down on the arrows to confirm the calibration. Example: What if it says suggested adjust +40 on the calibration screen after I run the pass do I make the change or does the computer do that? Becuase I made that change last time and it screwed it all up.
  22. 96' malibu with black scorpion 320 hp. Should I use gps to get the rpm close, then run through the course?
  23. Thats what I thought I did. I had all the beginning stuff you said correct. I pressed up on the arrow and then it says your baseline rpm and the suggested +/- rpm. Do I use the suggested rpm to +/- the baseline rpm because thats what i did. I changed the rpm to what is suggested and then confirmed it. So I should just drive the speed and hit up and then down arrow to confirm. Thats All????
  24. Ok so I have pp 6.5ng and I just purchased 6 magnets for the course. I was trying to set a baseline rpm for 32- 36 mph. I did what the book said and ran the pass, adjusted the rpm with the suggested rpm and then hit confirm baseline. At a set point of 32 mph the boat must have been doing 40 mph. What did I do wrong? Every speed was WAY off. Can anyone help me and give me a step by step process to set a baseline rpm, focusing on what I do when it says suggested rpm +150 because I think thats the part I must have messed up on. Thanks!!
