  1. Once I get the normal settings dialed in I will extrapolate the difference between the factory and what I came up with on Normal 34.2 and change the other settings for 36, normal, and extra large. No problems on the lighter weight settings.
  2. @skiboyny, I ran mine this morning with the settings ball 1 15 ball 3 20 and ball 4 to exit 15. I had an overall time of 17.02, but each buoy time was still in tolerance, but there was no surge. I tried the 50 50 45, but it still surged. Next time out I am going to try 20 25 and 20.
  3. The Leverage Blackouts are garbage. I put the old leverage overlays on them, and they are working now, but I messed up by right ankle and foot on the blackouts. Not enough upper ankle support. They need to bring back the old leverage overlays..
  4. @hemlock, do you remember the numbers you entered when you got the times that were -.01 to -.04? On my boat the 15 20 15 or the 20 15 19 stopped the surging but my times were slow, but still within tolerance.. Almost have it I think..
  5. I set up the background settings on 20 15 and 19. It stopped the surging, but the times were slow. On one pass at 34 mph I got a total time of 17.02.
  6. @hemlock I am going to try raising the ball one setting, and lowering the ball 3 setting slightly. Keith, you can adjust the backgrounds within each speed, once you get to the speed then you go into the skier weight sections.
  7. I put a new return spring in it last year. I may try tightening it up a bit. I had the original version of Stargazer before the module blew after 10 seasons. I originally had it take off from ball 3 to the end of the course. I just added an extra 50-100 pounds to the crew weight setting which fixed it. On the new version it surges between 2-3 ball only. The rest of the course it feels normal. The numbers on the background settings go all the way up to 100. Perfect Pass tech support told me to turn up the ball one setting. I just don't know by how much yet.
  8. They told me at Perfect Pass the kx would not affect the times, just the firmness of the pull. My boat already feels pretty solid.
  9. Thank guys. It sounds like I am on the right track. The adjustments I have made so far are helping, but has not eliminated it yet, but it has improved.
  10. The times are all in RC tolerance, but it surges from ball 2-3. Any thoughts?
  11. I have version 9 of Perfect Pass Stargazer 3 event. Has anyone run into where it surges while pulling a skier in the course? I checked all the linkage tests and everything came out okay, and when running a timing check with no skier the numbers come out okay. I have been adusting the ball 1 background settings which is helping, but it will take me a few more times to dial it in. I have a 240 hp carbureted engine, and a 1:1 tranny. If anyone out there has run into the same thing, were you able to solve it, and how did you do it? Perfect pass has been very helpful, but I want to see if anyone else ran into the same thing. I want to get it dialed in so I can add zbox. Any idea if Zbox would solve it?
  12. I like to do a variety of events. I still slalom, trick and barefoot. Last year in tournaments tricks was my best event. I have been struggling with slalom lately. I changed skis, from a 2008 D3 Nomad RCX to a 2015 Connelly GT. My best tournament performance is 2 1/2@35off 34 MPH. I am thinking the GT may be too advanced of a ski for me I used to get in to deep 32 off every time, but lately I have been falling on my opener, and going down at 28 off. I have been doing the Insanity workout in the offseason with some P90x Plyometrics and yoga which I think has helped my trick skiing. I sprained my ankle and foot last season which slowed me down in the course. I could still trick and barefoot, but it hurt to put my slalom ski on toward the end of last season. The last couple of years the spring in Ohio and Pennsylvania has been terrible. I need an early start to have a good season. Tricks is coming easier to me lately than slalom.
  13. I like the new 200, but the graphics are a dull. Needs more striping options. I would order mine without graphics and put old school ski nautique graphics on the 200. I am not a fan of the raised letters. I have seen them come off on all brands, and they are crazy expensive to replace.
  14. I liked it for both slalom and tricks. My tournament personal best in slalom is behind a Carbon Pro, and tricks behind a Prostar. I practice on a 1994 Ski Nautique.
  15. I put my boat away when it starts to get down into the low 40's at night. I put it in early one spring, and got up one morning to see it covered with snow. I don't like to leave it out in the cold. It can make the upholstery and gel coat brittle so not a good idea to leave it out in the cold. In the early spring and the late fall I drain the hoses, engine block and manifolds if it looks like it is going to get cold.
  16. If I could I would go to Florida one weekend per month in the winter.. Unfortunately work and lack of money get in the way..
  17. Depending on where you live, you may not want to let them grow. You may attract the at attention of the EPA and your lake could be designated a wetland, and the government could take it away..
  18. I prefer having keyed ignition.
  19. I am thinking to change to a 3 blade prop. I have a '94 which is the same hull, my favorite trick boat. A full tank of gas is plenty of ballast...
  20. My best tournament performance is 2 1/2@35off 34 MPH behind a Carbon Pro two years ago. In practice, 6@35 off 34 MPH behind my '94 Nautique. Years ago before perfect pass, 2@35off 36 MPH. I have been struggling this year with slalom. I am on a new ski and I have yet to run 32 off. I could not get passed 3 ball in a tournament this year at 32 off. I have been trying to heal a sprained ankle and foot for the past few weeks. In Ohio and Pennsylvania we had snow until the last week of April. A friend gave me some new fin settings to try, and it has helped, but I will have to use the off season to get in shape for next year. I use the B2+ settting on Zero Off which I am told is the closest setting to match perfect pass. I can't complain about tricks, I had a tournament on saturday and set a new PB in tricks. This is actually my best season in tricks ever.
  21. I just tried putting my ski on, on my back porch. It hurts my ankle just to put the ski on. I am thinking I will be out for a little while longer...
  22. I repaired my original leverage bindings and I am going to try them out. The overlays are more rigid than the blackouts. I will use them until I can find a suitable replacement. More research...
  23. I bought a new ski last fall a Connelly GT. I have been using D3 Leverage Blackout Bindings which I replaced the original D3 Leverage bindings. I never had a problem with the originals. They seem to work fine when they were new, but I found they have softened up. I was skiing one morning and I got extended too far forward and I sprained my right ankle(back foot). I think I stretched some tendons in my right foot also. Maybe Plantar fasciitis The bindings hold my feet in place, but it feels like there is no support in the upper ankle and I keep re-injuring it. I am thinking I may have to switch to a newer style binding. Has anyone tried the Connelly Tempest bindings? It grabbed my attention because it looks like I can adjust the tightness around my foot and ankle independently. If anyone has tried them let me know what you think....
  24. If the course is not straight just add more tension to the mainline. We use a comalong at one end to adjust the mainline tension.
  25. I installed 6 support sub buoys. I used washer fluid jugs half full of water. I attached them to the eyebolt on the middle of the arm. There are more eyebolts out by the skier buoys. I have some more jugs to attach. Storm started to blow in before I could finish. When I have help I will measure the distance from the gate to the buoy.
