  1. P90x and Insanity workouts. The company that makes them has a hybrid schedule for the two workouts. They are better than any workout than I ever got at the gym.
  2. When you are at 28 off practice shortening the pull zone because it gets shorter as the rope gets shorter. Let the ski finish its turn for as long as you can. This will allow you to adjust for the shorter pull zone at 32 off. I had a bad habit of pulling too long at 32off. I don't run it every time, but I am getting more consistent with it. Like on every pass it is critical to start out wide before the entrance gate, and get very early to ball one.
  3. I have two(neo USCG approved( of them one an old Ski Warm, and Connelly that I have had for 7 years. The Ski Warm is 10+ years. Still in good condition. They only get used when a drysuit or wetsuit is not needed. I have a regular nylon vest I wear over those since it is lighter in weight. I just keep them out of the sun when not in use. Can't use the thin slalom vests they make now since they are not legal in PA.
  4. I will do a couple Insanity workouts on the days were I don't get out on the lake. I also bike and rollerblade.
  5. Stick to cardio type workouts on days where you don't ski. I do the P90x X stretch the night before I know I am going to be skiing a few days in a row, then will do it again after a couple days of skiing. Rest a day or two as needed. I try to ski 4-6 sets of slalom per week and the same in tricks. I add barefooting every now and then too.
  6. Don't go back on the water until your doctor clears you to go.
  7. I am left foot forward with right palm up. I have had many skier tell me over the years my on and offside turns are very symmetrical. Not sure if that is considered wrong.
  8. Single at 47. I have not had to answer that.. Skiing is probably why I am single. Finding a woman who has any interest in boating and being out on the water is almost impossible.
  9. I buy 4 ropes and handles at a time, and keep them for several years. I replace them when they start to look worn or faded. They get coiled and removed from the boat after every morning of skiing. I take a different one out each day I go skiing.
  10. In the offseason P90x Insanity hybrid the first three months of winter, then Insanity the second half of winter. Lots of biking and rollerblading when the weather permits. Lots of stretching.
  11. A good guideline is, the air and the water temp added together need to add up to 100.
  12. I have had the same Shorestation vertical lift since 1985. We had some problems at the beginning, but was corrected when we installed all stainless steel cables(they were double the money, and not standard at the time). The water was very muddy which caused them to corrode and break. In 2007 my dad and I installed a new drum in the winch box increasing its capacity from 2600 pounds to 3500 pounds and changed out all the pulleys. It has 4 cables. 2 leveling cables, a lifting cable, and a winch cable. With all the use I usually change the winch cable every 5 years. I would buy another Shorestation, but a cantilever style mainly for only one cable to change out when needed. No complaints on my present lift.
  13. I have a fly high on my 1994 Ski Nautique and a straight Barefoot International boom. We have the adjustable boom clamp which allows the permanent boom clamp to be mounted low enough for the fly high to fit on the pylon. I recommend putting the boom on the passenger side that way you can take the boom on and off while the boat is docked, and makes it easier to dock the boat when the driver side is facing the dock. You will have to check the location of the base of the windshield in relation to the pylon. The 200's windshield comes back further than it does on my boat so you want to make sure you have enough space on the gunnel for the boom. You may need the contour on the 200, but I am not sure.
  14. Spongex for the yellow boat guides, and orange Overton's for the rest.
  15. I have bought products from both companies.. Good stuff!
  16. Did get to do some skiing on Christmas day at Lake Latonka, one and a half months later I was skating on Aurora Lake. Lake Latonka is now partially frozen.
  17. Go with the full suit. Friends I ski with have them, and they like them better than their drysuits.

    Gas Cans

I have a mid size sedan, so I can only carry 5or6 5 gallon cans. I use a jiggler pump. I am able to siphon two cans into my boat at the same time.
  19. I will always ski as long as my body will let me. If I get to the point where I can't ski at the level I am satisfied I will retire from competition, but will still continue to ski for the exercise. If I can't get to 35off consistently then I will sit out of tournaments until I do.
  20. It is a great looking boat.. Lots of nice modifications.
  21. Engine rebuild at 700 hours? Mine has 1800 hours on it have not had to do that yet..
  22. I have the "No Wake Zone" Ski Nautiques only sign hanging in my boat garage.
  23. No feet.. I have one made by Eagle Sports. I went skiing on Christmas day in Pennsylvania. The air temp was 52 degrees F, and the water temp was 46 degrees F. I find the ski bindings keep my feet warm enough for the time out on the water. If you burp all the air out of the suit the seals will not move. Just make sure all the seals on your wrists and ankles are flat against your skin before you burp the suit. The only difference is the neck seal. Depending on your preference, tuck the top centimeter inside, or leave it flat. To burp the suit, get in the water after you put it on, put point one arm straight down, and hold the neck seal open as you get as deep in the water as you can without letting water into the suit, switch hands do the same on the other side. The vacuum seal should keep the water out. I wear a t-shirt, sweat shirt, and sweat pants under the suit preferably as skin tight as possible. As long as the seals are kept in good condition you won't have a problem. For slalom I wear my vest over the suit. Don't put your vest on until after you burp the suit.
  24. Go to backyardhockey.com it shows you how to make a home Zamboni. You could make your own hockey rink, and speed skating oval, but it looks liked you already have.. Got water ski in Pennsylvania on Christmas Day for the first time ever, but ice hockey is just as much fun as water skiing. It is still dry here. If it warms up enough I may get my rollerblades out before the weekend is over.
