  1. A 69" Radar Union is a fantastic choice for what you have described. The shape is based on the high end competition Vapor but with increased surface area which will help with your deep water starts but not compromise your ability to still rip turns and have strong wake crossings.
  2. I would suggest a Radar Senate. There are 4 different construction/materials versions of this ski. Go with the highest build within your budget. For boots, match that Senate with the Radar Vector Boa boots or a front Vector Boa with a rear ARTP Boa for a toe loop set up. This ski rips turns and accelerates like a sports car on both open water and in the course.
  3. Marc will surely be missed. Heartbreaking news. Condolences to family and friends. We lost another champion way too soon.
  4. Loving the input from you all. Keep the thoughts and ideas coming. Already looking forward to season 2!
  5. Thanks to everyone who helped make Spraymakers Season 1 such a success. We learned a whole lot along the way and look forward to Season 2 dropping in March of 2021. We would love to hear listener ideas for future episode topics. Lets keep this discussion for just new idea topics and not discussions about Season 1 episodes. Thanks everyone and see you in 2021!
  6. @smokevw my suggestion would be to find one source of information that resonates with you and follow it for as long as you are progressing. You can easily get lost in too much information or differing theories and regress. @TFIN and I do a podcast called SprayMakers and we lay out our beliefs regarding techniques and theories of slalom waterskiing. Both of us are also involved in an online coaching app called GiveGo where you submit a video and we give you our coaching thoughts. Many skiers are now using this with great success. Good luck and welcome to the community!
  7. The GiveGo app has been great. My suggestion to you all is to load a full pass from the hardest pass you compete most or all of the time. I’d recommend having an observer use an iPhone and have you zoomed in as close to full screen as possible and not lose you out of the screen. One pass should be all that is needed. Also, remember that this isn’t about showing the coach how amazing your skiing is so an average pass that has some mishaps is a good one to use. It’s amazing how much info the coaches can get in their return video for this price range. GiveGo is a tool that will help get you on the right track and is so quick response engineered, you should consider adding it to your tool bag.
  8. My heart is deeply saddened by this news. Kreg was a wonderful person. So inviting, talented, and humble. When I was at UCF we had many encounters and he always made me feel important even when I was just a struggling collegiate skier. Thoughts go out to his family and friends ?
  9. @SandLakeShreds glad you like the Vapor! One thing Id suggest is to get the fin numbers off that 67 you demod with the boot location. That way you can set up the 66 that you find the same way.
  10. You can listen to the SprayMakers podcast as well to get valuable insight into the technical world of slalom skiing. It’s available for iPhone and android platforms...
  11. Psyched for you! You can download the Givego app and get coaching from one of the Radar Team skiers. For sure any of us can give you insight into how to take your skiing to the next level.
  12. @Buxrus Check out the Givego app. You can choose to put your video up for grabs or choose a specific radar skier to review. I’d suggest submitting a full 35 pass. I’m sure we will get you dialed in.
  13. @keithh2oskier thanks for subscribing! Glad to have you on board this crazy train. @markchilcutt the homework never ends... @"Pat M" glad I was able to help you out. 99.99% you and may be 0.01% help by hearing the right thing at the right time.
  14. Thanks @chris55! We've got a bunch more content lined up...Stay tuned. Hope everyone else is enjoying SprayMakers.
  15. @TonyT For the settings you are currently running, I’d try going back with the boots to 30 1/4”. Should help with the on side turn. And like @Gloersen and @C5Quest recommended, if you haven’t tried the stock Radar long/shallow and short/deep set ups, I’d recommend doing so.
  16. @dchristman thanks for the kind words. We appreciate your suggestions for episode content and will throw them in the bucket. Thanks for listening! Anyone not familiar with our podcast can go to www.spraymakers.com for more info!
  17. @UWSkier one thing both @TFIN and I stress is to have your speed built by centerline or directly behind the boat. For the gate pull out, we are already starting our pull out after the centerline so I try to start as close to the wake as possible to be as efficient as I can in this area.
  18. @Garn timing is different for everyone but I reference the front of the boat to the upcoming pre-gates. I set my pull out timing to be ideal for my shortest passes and then it works just fine for my longer ones. @MDB1056 thanks for the kind words.
  19. Thanks @2Valve! @JAS glad someone was listening to me :)! @Dockoelboto you're on the right path...keep learning and trying!
  20. @Dockoelboto When you attach a handle to a post, can you get in a good off side pulling position and hold it? Sounds too simple right? Well, a high percentage of skiers have poor form while leaning against the post. So....when they go out to ski, the same poor technique shows up. This is what Im referencing when I recommend that we want to fill in as much understanding about every phase of skiing in order to start to progress. If you've been stuck at the same place for a long time, this is definitely an issue.
  21. @vtmecheng dont worry, all of us skiers have thick heads! The really important concept is to build an understanding of how the entire package works. Each skier's technical flaws usually stem from areas in technique that they understand the least. The more in depth your understanding, the quicker your road to improvement.
  22. Thanks for the nice comments @carlm6298 @chris55 @jhughes. Spraymakers has been a fun adventure so far and we hope that in some small way, we can help pass the time until we all go back to putting up big sprays for days! Hang in there everyone and stay safe!
  23. Thanks @jimski! For those of you who have yet to listen, @tfin and I bring up different slalom topics each episode of SprayMakers and share our insight that we've learned through our years in the sport. We keep these episodes on the shorter side (around 30min) but trust me, theres a lot of knowledge dropped in that time frame. Whats been really nice is that although Trent and I share a similar overall understanding of the techniques needed to be successful in slalom, we talk about things in different ways. Check out www.spraymakers.com to find out more. Thanks for listening.
  24. Congrats on the new ski! I’d recommend starting with the long and shallow settings from the radar page. Take some sets on it this way to get a feel and then try the short and deep. Most skiers will be able to make either set up work, but one will feel more natural.
