  1. Intrigued. I did not see it on ios. Is it only android right now?
  2. @jordan12345 glad to hear of your interest in slalom skiing! Please fill in the details that @aupatking asked and I will be happy to help give you some suggestions from the Radar line.
  3. @bojans your son has a great start to his skiing the course! Great overall technique. I’d say that overall he just needs to start the course on a more aggressive line. All I’d encourage him to do is to turn in more aggressively and lean harder from his turn in to the first wake. If he can get more angle on his turn in and develop more speed into the gate, he will develop a better line into buoy one and set himself up to make a tighter turn at buoy one that can then develop more speed on the way to buoy 2.
  4. @coach3 66 should be perfect. Glad to hear you guys have found alternate uses for your new Vapor...but lets stick to using them on top of the water not as paddles as much as possible!
  5. Thanks for all the positive reviews and feedback! @lw_moskier I would go 67 and congrats on getting lean and mean!
  6. Congrats on your first tournament! While I will not be there personally, I know you will be in good hands. Alan Rossi would have been the first to greet you to the waterski community with a smile and hand shake. That tradition continues to this day. Have fun and don’t hesitate to ask anyone for answers to any questions you have. They will be happy to help.
  7. @quinne you can’t go wrong with either option of Lyric. After reading your posts, I would suggest a 2019 or 2020 Lyric Graphite. This is an awesome ski that is as comfortable free skiing as it is in the course. The addition of higher quality materials and an adjustable fin box are nice options.
  8. Thanks for each one of your personal insights from your first few passes/days on this new ski. They were a hot commodity at the Nationals and even had one gentleman who bought one, we set it up, and he went out (at his lake) and posted a score that was 4 buoys better than on his previous ski. The 2020 Vapor is a very balanced and intuitive ski. I am very excited to see more of these on the water! Keep us in the loop as more of you get on the ski.
  9. You guys are doing great! Id suggest a Radar Senate. It is based off the high end ski but its slightly wider which will give you a larger sweet spot to learn from. I would go with a Radar Vector front boot with an ARTP toe piece in the back. I would also opt for a rope/handle combo such as the Radar Control Team so that you will be free skiing at the same line lengths that course skiers do. And as others have stated, you can slow the boat down a few miles an hour so that you can work on technique and raising your confidence! Send me a message if you would like more specific gear information. How much do you and your brother weigh?
  10. @Parxxx thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. We have talked about doing this in the past but nothing was done. You and I have had multiple talks about it and I agree with your points. I think the important part is that the next generation would not be limited to our constraints and may give them more options to get to the end of the pass. Other than specific sites where this would not be safe, I am fully on board. I do not see one drawback to what you have proposed. How many of you out there have a course and would be willing to test this out? I will get my course set up for this and do some testing this fall. Thanks again for being such a visionary.
  11. Nothing like it! Welcome to the ski addiction club!
  12. @coach3 the skis are built to the same flex numbers. @gsm_peter anything that helps inspire confidence can lead to higher scores. I don't notice much with buoys but others are very sensitive to them. That being said, I have been buying Wally buoys recently.
  13. @Stevie Boy I too agree that we are currently going through one of the best eras in slalom waterskiing. The level that has been achieved not only by the top one or two, but many now is downright impressive. In pro mens slalom, 39 off used to be the gold standard, now it is a requirement just to make it through the first cut. The same phenomenon is happening through the amateur ranks. While I do believe we are progressing with our understanding and application of slalom ski techniques, the progression of slalom ski design and the materials used to create these skis are a huge player in the overall heightened performance of the sport. Products like PMI and Textreme Carbon infused with Innegra are the absolute best construction combination we at Radar have found to push the performance limits of the skis design. Another important thing to remember is the epic rise in quality and design of the products being offered to entry level on up to the tournament skier. These skis have been stepped up, providing skiers with a much better platform to progress on. In Radar's case, all of the slalom skis in the Radar line are full carbon construction. This provides the aspiring skier a better performing, more responsive, lighter, easier to ski on product that makes learning to ski and learning the course easier. Also having skis such as the Radar Union and Radar Senate (wider options) to learn the slalom course on helps to make the sweet spot of learning much more approachable and accelerates the learning curve.
  14. Guys, the Radar Drifter vest is as good as it gets. Ultra light, floatation where it should be, 4 way stretch for the ultimate freedom while skiing, fleece lined for superior comfort, cut is not too short like others that make your belly button show, and dries almost instantly. By far the best vest I have ever skied in... https://radarskis.com/products/drifter-impact-vest
  15. The P6 is no longer in production and I believe it is a bit wide for what you have described you would like to do with it. Radar makes a 0.4" wider version of the Vapor (the tournament ski) called the Union. This is a very good ski as well, but I will stick with my first suggestions are your very best options. I prefer to buy new products especially if you plan on using them for many years to come.
  16. So fun to hear stories of passionate skiers. I would suggest looking at a 65 Radar Lyric Graphite or 65 Radar Senate Lithium. Both of these skis are built out of the same mold but utilize slightly different materials (the senate has the better materials as can be seen from the price tag). These skis are designed from Radars high end tournament ski (The Vapor) and then 0.2" of width is added to the ski. The added width makes skiing a little easier on the body but by keeping the outline profile the same as well as the rocker, the ski skis like a tournament ski. To me, this is a perfect match for what you are looking for. Both of these skis will be a drastic upgrade in materials from what you are currently using and will feel easier on your body. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  17. I would start by doing what @Stevie Boy suggested and try moving the boots back one hole. This should make the tail of the ski easier to come through the finish of the buoy. If it feels better, try another hole and see what comes of it. Then after doing this, the fin can be looked at to fine tune.
  18. @gregy glad to hear you are settling in on a setting you prefer! Keep us in the loop of your progress.
  19. @Stevie Boy what length ski do you ski on now? What line lengths will you be skiing?
  20. @jenksski while I won’t be able to tell you anything for certain, it’s not often that a ski changes after one year.
  21. @JAS excited to see what you do on that bad boy! @OldGettingYoung my numbers will allow the ski to roll over slightly more and slide through the finish of the turn more.
  22. @coach3 The difference from pro build to lithium is noticeable at all line lengths. This in no way means the lithium is not a fantastic ski! The pro build senate currently offered in 67 and 69, so the lithium is my recommended option for the question above.
  23. And if only i could be a "triple panda award recipient" like you! Glad to help
