  1. AWSA has rules for the dimensions of the "triangle." May not allow for larger than 13"? Would also be easier to get your head etc caught in.
  2. I would like to see the manufacturers include a EZfintool with every ski! Terry
  3. LeonL-Right there with you, just turned 63. Happy to nail deepwater starts anymore! Terry
  4. Terry Bandel, age 63 started chasing bouys at 52. Ski at Laku in Colorado, live in Kansas a 200 mile commute. Like many on this board, I'm not good enough to compete in tournaments. However that doesn't stop me from participating in as many tournaments as I can in a season. I enjoy judging, driving, hanging with skiing friends from other sites, and skiing against my average. If you were at the 09 regionals at Laku I may have met and pulled you in practice on lake 2. Designed and sell the EZ Fintool. Many of you use it as a simple solution to measure your fin and I appreciate all of the support, encouragement and good feedback I've received from all of you.
  5. Great Video! Thats probably the only way I'll see a -38 pass from that vantage point. Terry
  6. I also want to congratulate the September winners. Since we had the cash for first place, I decided to award the EZFintool to second place. So David Wolters wins it. Thanks to everyone that entered this summer, I think it was fun. We have all winter to come up with ideas to make it better next year. I will still do the discount for anyone that has entered this summer and wants to purchase a EZFT. David, email me your mailing address at ezfintool@yahoo.com and I'll get your EZFT on the way. Terry
  7. Marc, Email me ezfintool@yahoo.com I have a question for you. Terry Bandel
  8. Marco, If you're in town Friday afternoon and not busy stop by and hang out. Terry
  9. Krista,  Congrats on winning August! Send me a email at , ezfintool@yahoo.com with a mailing address and I'll get your EZFintool on the way. Terry
  10. Mark,  I'm a member at Laku which is a hour north of Denver in Windsor. Its a Ski Club on a world class two lake site. We're geared towards three-event tournament skiing and host several tournaments each year. If interested, I can get you more info. Also check out laku.com Terry Bandel
  11. KM Its best if you establish the difference between the two measurements on your ski. To do this, measure the fin in its current position carefully and write down all three measurements. Next loosen the fin and move it as far foreward on the ski as you can and snug it down. With the fin foreward, you should be able to get a accurate DFT measurement using the "flat" method because you have a larger flat area to place the caliper on. Also measure the DFT using the fintool. Lets say the flat was 1.112 and with the fintool it was 1.002 your difference would be .110, write it on the fintool with a sharpie. Now put the fin back where it was and check it. If the factory reading you were looking for is .840, you would be looking at .950 with the fintool. If you're using a digital caliper, simply open it up to .110 and push the "reset to zero" button and measure with the fintool, the measurements you get would be the same as measuring the flat or factory way. lkb, take advantage of the discount and get one ordered, its the only way you can take all three measurements, acccurately, in less than a minute! Terry
  12. Awhile back someone asked for it and so here it is, a discount for all of you that have supported the challenge this season. Here is how it works: If you have entered 1 or 2 of the monthly tournaments, you can order a EZfintool for $36, If you entered 3 or more, you get one for $33 S/H is included in both prices. The September challenge counts so get your entries in. This offer is not on my website, you can order one of several ways: Go to paypal and send the money to my email: admin@vidkingdom.com you can mail me a check, email me for the address, or if you want to do a MC or Visa over the phone, email me and we can do that. Thanks to everyone that has entered any of the tournaments and good luck to everyone in the September Challenge! Oh yea, after 10 not so great tournament sets this summer,  I finally had a good one last weekend, I might have edged out "The Blonde" Terry
  13. Looks like there are still a few openings in the Big Dawg. We're planning on a great weekend for everybody. Saturday we'll be running a 2 round class C slalom tournament on lake 2, so all you "little dawgs" get signed up for that! Barbecue's Saturday night and Sunday after the Big Dawg finals. I see several Utah skiers in the Big Dawg, so I expect a large number of Utah skiers to drive over to watch and ski the Class C. While your attending the Big Dawg, check out our clubs 09 CC 196 promo that's for sale. If that's not enough, see me for a "Big Dawg Special" on a EZ Fin Tool. Terry
  14. Congrats Marc, so much for higher average skiers not having a chance! Send me your mailing address at ezfintool@yahoo.com. Terry
  15. Do we have a "Official July Winner?"Â
  16. Mainly its the people you become friends with. I've never made -22 in a tournament so I am not there to compete with anyone and there really isn't anything to win anyway. You also get to ski sites that you may not get to ski in any other way. I also enjoy driving and judging. Most importantly, if you ski tournaments you can enter the EZ Challenge!
  17. Anyone in the July Contest skiing this weekend, Or is July a wrap?
  18. I agree with John, Just Enter!  We need a lot of skiers with a wide range of averages represented. We can better see how the handicapping system is working.Â
  19. The bigger question is: when is MC is going to fix their wake at 15 & 22? Terry
  20. Richard Keep entering, you might win one. That's a idea, a discount for someone entering at least 3 of them?? I'll work on that one. Terry
  21. Yep, its July. Everyone is skiing better and there's more tournaments so SIGN UP! Congrats to Shane, email me your mailing address to ezfintool@yahoo.com and I'll get your ezfintool out. Terry
  22. I meant to say faster than normal snowmelt. The campground is a island but escaped flooding. Cleanup and erosion repair are the main problems that we know of till the water goes down. Tournament will be rescheduled. Thanks for the invite Marco, thinking about it, I live 3.5 hours from Laku so Montrose is a long drive! Terry
  23. For those of you familar with laku, here is a picture taken by David Nelson of the lake 1 dock. The river has been flooding us for a week because of faster melting of the snowpack in the mountains and rain. We are scheduled to have our first tourney of the year this weekend. Terry
