  1. Same weekend as Western Regional Warmup @ Laku with regionals starting July 24.
  2. Laku is 15 miles from Loveland and Ft Collins.
  3. I'm a old guy that skis 15 to 22 off. My 2012 average was 64.33. Doug Moss set me up with a X7 a couple of months ago. After 4 tournaments, my 2013 average is 75.33. I'm definitely skiing better on my X7. I did go a size longer than recommended and I'm glad I did. Was on a 65" RC.
  4. @Wish, Yea, the difference between a flat measurement and the tool is .072 on my ski. Before I measure DFT, I open my caliper to .072 and reset it to zero, then the measurement is the flat or factory measurement.
  5. Because of the great response last year, I'm repeating the special pricing for ballers! BOS readers can get a EZFintool for $35 including shipping, a $5 savings. If you have trouble getting repeteable DFT measurements, the EZFT is for you. Don't like to measure depth, because you have to remove the wing, EZFT is for you. The EZFT and your caliper is the only way that you can take all three measurements, accurately, in less than a minute. If you haven't seen one, you can check it out at ezfintool.com. The special is not available on the website, just go to paypal.com and send the $35 to admin@vidkingdom.com or you can send me a check, email me at ezfintool@yahoo.com for my mailing address. They make great Christmas gifts for your ski buddies! Thanks, Terry
  6. With the sequence plate, you can move bindings by removing two screws. Bindings can be moved as little as 1/8".
  7. Agree on the bomber eyeware, they're also great if you wear contacts
  8. I felt like my onside turns were slow and I did exactly what Ski Jay said, worked wonders. Make sure to counter going into that onside turn.
  9. Marco, last I talked to Jeff, he sold his boat and was supposed to deliver it last weekend so it should be 200 and TXI.
  10. Drive lots, get feedback from the skiers. When your skier falls, think about where the boat was and what you were doing at that time, did you do anything to cause the fall. If you can video your boatpath pulling skiers, that can be a big help. In tournaments, the skiers first pass will usually tell you quite a bit, although there are a fair number of skiers who are easier on the driver at 35 and shorter than they are at 28 & 32
  11. Our club has a very nice one located in Colorado, SIA #16374.
  12. Anyone go to a longer ski @ 32? I'll be there next summer.
  13. Does she use the watch to time the pass?
  14. Driven both a lot, agree that the 200 is easier in the course. I'm slightly bothered by the extra RPM"s on the 200, especially at 36, our clubs 6L gets into 5000 pulling @ 36.
  15. You already have a caliper, allyou need is the EZFintool.
  16. EZFintool Revision 1 is now available and ready to go. Thanks to DW and Brent for their engineering help, we did the revision so that the tool can be used with a front ventral wing. DW, I went with .375 width as it seems like that would work for most applications. Since this revision was inspired by BOS readers, I'll keep the BOS discount going for a while on the new one, see the first part of this thread to order. Thanks!
  17. BOS. "One ski, six balls."
  18. I've found Goode gloves to be extremely durable, you have to get used to the color.
  19. Yes, 6.0's for the Big Dawg at Laku.
  20. I think ZO is speed based, the times are reported based on where it thinks the bouys are. I have not experienced speed variances at the gates, once properly engaged.
  21. @Dusty Re: AWSA insurance, agree its more of a supplemental insurance to your regular carrier. If you get injured and it helps with a deductable, mines $2000, it would be worth it, like you I'm not counting on it.
  22. Many have mentioned tournaments, the coverd practice thing is huge. Our club went through all of the hoops last year to have all of our practice sets and tournaments covered. It sounds like the Driver Training is being added this year. I'm sure that a lot of clubs have not in the past and won't do everything to have their practice sets covered. This is where the insurance company is exposed. Where else can you pay $100 a year dues and have insurance for every set you ski on your home site and every sanctioned tournament? I hope a skier never encounters a "tipsy" driver at a tournament, but a club member that may have a problem with alcohol, could show up on a saturday afternoon and offer to give you a pull? Sounds like these are situations they are trying to eliminate. If your site elects to not participate in the covered practice thing its probably business as usual. Our club has 25 families, you do observe things that would indicate that a trained driver course would be a good thing. I agree with Joe, AWSA or possibly the state federations should step up to help with the fees for the tournament drivers.
