I think skiers would value it more if they experienced it. A lot of skiers just ride a ski and get used to it or set it and forget it.

When I rode the Denali I was amazed at how knowledgeable Caldwell and Cord were. I learned more about ski setup in a few months than I had in the previous 25 years.

The sad part is the person who gets the emails probably had nothing to do with the bad decision to implement safe sport or the IT/computer problem.

I sent the following to member services at good old usaws with my completion diploma attached. They must really want to kill what’s left of this sport.

I got an email that said I didn’t complete safesport. Its bad enough we have to waste our time with this useless waste of time, but now to have to waste more time proving its done is infuriating.

I will buy one for sure. Masterline is great but way overpriced now.

I watched a pro skier use this ropes numerous rides and it measured dead on.

@UCFskier The whole idea that doing something is better than doing nothing is ridiculous.

As I have said before a very short video and a waiver or just the waiver would’ve sufficed.

Making every person who wants to ski a tournament go online and waste two hours of their life is probably not going to make the sport better overall.

When I read the Federal Law I did not read anything that couldn’t be covered with a ten minute video and a waiver form for most competitors.

The main problem is USAWS. We only need an AWSA. It would be run much more efficiently and cater to our sport.

Why not have baseball under the same umbrella or parent organization as ice hockey, field hockey, la crosse and cricket?

They all use sticks.

Because they all have there own unique needs and agendas. Because it makes no sense and some would be subsidized by others.

Just my opinion.

I do plan on complying with the safesport requirement when I find some time. Perhaps during an airport appreciation day.

I don’t plan to give up my SS # or pay for a background check.

@buechsr you have had some legitimate points throughout this thread. The problem I see is that USAWS acts like we are lucky they let us be a part of the organization and ski. We must do whatever stupidity and jump through all the hoops they mandate yet they talk about growing the sport and ask us to help.

The two positions are polar opposite. This will significantly shrink an already dying sport and encourage someone to start a competing organization.
